Chapter Twelve

When Mom and I went to check on Willow I honestly still expected to find her crying. Honestly, if I was in her shoes I would be in a puddle on the floor, not to mention learning that her family could possibly have had something to do with the killing of witches. She was so much stronger than she realized. With all the excitement today, my shower plans with Dimitri didn't happen before the party. Inside my room, I made more coffee and grabbed all my stuff and sat up on the small table. I walked into the bathroom to grab my dyson airwrap and all my other hair stuff. " Is that you babe?" asked Dimitri.

" Yeah, I just needed to grab my hairdryer, when your done there is something I need to tell you." I said.

" Okay, I am just about done." replied Dimitri.

I left the bathroom and poured myself a cup of coffee and started drying my hair while I waited. He walked with no shirt and shorts on and kissed my cheek before pouring himself a cup to.

" So what did you need to tell me?" he asked.

" Willow thinks her parents pack made an alliance with your uncle. She texted her mom today to tell her about finding her mate to see what her reaction would be, and then her mom let it slip that no one could ever know that she's been living with us ever since. Her old pack thinks she is in boarding school due to being a hellion. Willow questioned why it mattered about the witch stuff and her mom said something about how their pack hates witches and why do you think Damion was hunting them. She sent my mom a screenshot and she took it to my dad. If anyone from this pack questions them about it, they will know that Willow shared their conversation. That could put her in danger."

" Don't worry my love, nothing will happen to Willow. When I made my statement before I met you, I had all the packs under surveillance, knowing that he had to have allies out there somewhere. How is Willow doing with this new information?" asked Dimitri.

" Actually she seemed more pissed than sad. Technically, we've been her family for so long that I think the last time we even saw her mom was Will's tenth birthday, I think. But no matter if she is mad, they are still her parents and if they were involved in the murder's it would destroy her." I said.

Dimitri left to go get ready and to speak to his father about everything. Willow showed up about five minutes after he left. I had my hair curled and Willow had part of it on my left side braided and pinned up. I went with a dark purple smokey eye and kept it simple and, with some liner and lashes, I went with and off purplish lipstick and I went and put my dress on. Willow's dress was short like mine and it was a deep dark green color with thin straps and a full open back, It was gorgeous on her. I sat my black heels on the coffee table making a slight clunk.

" Damn girl you look gorgeous!" said Willow.

" Thank you! You look beautiful too, I'm so glad you're here with me tonight.

" I wouldn't be anywhere else. I have something for you, I know you wanted to stop and look at striper shoes but didn't. So I got you these." Willow said as she handed me a pair of dark purple closed toe heels.

"they beautiful, where did you find them?" I asked.

" Actually they were mine I got them at a shoot one day and honestly forgot I even had them. When you offered me the job I zapped all my stuff here and tonight when I was looking for my shoes. I found these and I want you to have them." said Willow. I sat down and slipped them on my feet and stood to look in the full length mirror and they were perfect. " I had actually planned to give them to you on your birthday, but everything went all pear shaped and now were here and yeah." said Willow.

" Yeah, everything did kinda change in a hurry. After my overload on magic and spending all day in the hospital, I feel like I just finally caught up with my own life. Thank you for the shoes I love them and can promise I will wear them again, as long as you make me a dress that goes with." I said hugging her.

Willow's POV

The party was in full swing when we finally made it downstairs. When Dimitri saw Scarlett tonight. he completely lit up, I could see the hunger for her in his eyes and the hunger she had for him. After seeing that I prayed that my mate would look at me like that, I had told Scarlett that I didn't want to meet him at the party in front of a bunch of people.

"Willow how would you like to meet Asher he had mind linked me and he knows your here, he caught your scent when he got home to get ready for the party. I kept him away but his Lycan is getting agitated having to wait." said Dimitri

" I'm sorry for having you make him wait. There is a fountain out back the isn't being used tonight, I can meet him there. Would you both be willing to stay in the shadow's just in case everything goes bad?" I asked.

" Yes of course we will. If all goes well tell Asher to mind link Dimitri and we will leave and let you both get to know each other." said Scarlett.

" I will go find Asher and bring him to you." Said Dimitri walking away into the party.

Dimitri's POV

I left my mate and her best friend, in search of my best friend. I hadn't realized Noah had invited this many people tonight, I looked over to see Scarletts parents smiling you could tell that Noah was so happy to have his wife and daughter back. I had already made two laps looking for Asher so I gave up and used the mind link.

Asher I need you to meet me and the punch table please. It's very important.

Okay headed that way now, some she-wolf stopped me thinking she was going to get lucky. I know you know my mate I smelled her faintly on you tonight.

I will explain face to face

I made my way to the punch table and I saw him emerge from the crowd, and by the look on his face he was truly starting to struggle with control. I needed to get him away from all these party guests before he lost full control. I let Dane come forward he calmed Finn down as I pulled him away from the crowd. I know Willow wanted to explain things herself but unfortunately there wasn't time.

" Asher I need you to listen to me. Your mate is here but there are some things you need to know. Finn is trying to control and that is not what your mate needs right now. She needs your human side." said Dane. Finn started to growl at me and Dane growled back made his aura stronger. I watched ans Finn's eyes shifted back to Asher, and I knew we was calming down enough to listen.

" Your mate is my mate's best friend they grew up together. Everly had practically raised her, your mates name is Willow and she is a witch her and she has had a pretty bad run of things the last few days. She know's you are her mate and she is afraid you won't want her." I said pulling Dane back.

" Why would she think that I wouldn't want her?" questioned Finn with a mix of Asher.

" Her family sent her to live with Everly when she was a young girl cause she had shown no signs of having a wolf. Everly and Willow's mom had once been friends. Willow had the intentions of going back home to be with her family and then she planned to join us at the palace, but when she called her mom to tell her she was coming home. Her mother told her she wasn't welcome because she was wolfless." I said

"D, I need to meet her please, take me to her." said Asher.

He followed me to the fountain and I stood there and watched as he saw her for the first time.

" D, she is so beautiful. Finn can't wait to claim her, does she know what happens when claimed by a Lycan?" asked Asher

" She does know. You need to go slow with her and take your time." I said

Scarlett knew we were standing there and she motioned for Willow to turn around, my mate made her way towards and I held my hand out to her and she slipped her hand into mine and we walked to the shadow's as we were instructed.

Willow's POV

I was standing there talking with Scarlett when she told me to turn around that my mate was here. I turned around and my heart skipped beat when I looked at him his dark blonde hair was long and hung down in face but not enough to take away from his looks. He was beautiful his deep blue eyes were so piercing that I wanted to look away but couldn't, they held me captive. I heard Scarlett whipser good luck as she walked away. I watched as my mate walked towards me and he was smiling, that had to be a good sign right. I waited for him to speak.

" Hello, Willow my name is Asher."

" Hello, Asher its nice to meet you. There are some things you need to know about me before this continues." I said

" I already know everything. Please don't be upset with Dimitri, he explained everything that was important because I was about to loose control of my Lycan in a room full of party guests. He was getting pissed knowing our mate was being kept from us. Had D not explained things Finn would have claimed you without even another thought." Explained Asher

At first I was upset that Dimitri had told him everything about my life until Asher explained why. I felt guitly for hiding for him, I didnt truly understand how hard a beast was to control when something was standing in their way.

"I am truly sorry that I made you wait for so long, I was scared that you would reject me because of my heritage. I let the fear from being rejected by my parents control how I would react when I found out you were my mate." I said

" I understand and it's OK that you took time to yourself. I would never want to force anything on you ever. I know the party is going on but would you like to take a walk with me and talk?" asked Asher.

" I would love to. Can you link Dimitri and let him know that everything is good and that we are going for a walk?" I asked.

" Of course." said Asher. I watched his eyes flash to gold and then shift back to blue. " Shall we?" He asked holding out his hand. I took it and I felt the energy buzz between us and I knew that everything was going to be alright.

Scarletts POV

The party was in full swing when we finally made it. I left bad that I was over an hour late, I found my parents and explained what had happened. Asher had linked D and told him that everything was good. There were so many people here tonight and I didn't know any of them, my dad introduced me to a lot of them and they were like " Oh I remember when you were a baby." Or they would completely ignore me and pay attention to Dimitri and it was really starting to piss me off that she- wolves were that stupid or power hungry. I was already losing patience I kept myself calm until one young she wolf about my age pushed me out of the way spilling my punch down the front of my dress. I watched as she put her hands all over my mate and I could see he was getting pissed. He pushed her away and told her to stop and she still kept coming. I could feel anger coming from Alex I snapped my fingers and made the stain on my dress disappear as I walked up to the girl and grabbed her by the throat and picked her up off the ground.

" Get your hands off my mate before I break you in half." I yelled. By this point there was an audience and I could hear yelling behind me. "Please don't hurt my daughter she didn't mean any harm." cried her mother. I looked up at the girl and she was turning purple, I turned and dropped her at her mother feet and said " You should teach your daughter better manners she was told to stop once before and then pushed away and still wouldn't stop she needed to learn a lesson." I said. I walked up on the deck and over looked the party goers and I looked to my parents the nodded there approval and said " I have an announcement. First I would like to tell my parents thank you for the wonderful party, I also want to thank you all for coming and for you gifts, it truly made me feel special. Since I've been here I have seen a lot of things that as a women truly worry me. I would like to introduce you all to my mate Dimitri the Lycan Prince. Yesterday after leaving the hopsital we were approached by two young shewolves and the amount of disrespect that was shown towards me was disgraceful, regardless of wether or not they new who I was. To clear the air here Dimitri and I were walking hand in hand when they approached and made fools of themselves trying to take something that belonged to someone else. Parents, your children are a reflection of you and your abilities to teach your children right from wrong, and what I have seen so far is horrible. You watched your daughter make an ass out of herself and you cried like I was the one in the wrong tonight for defending what is mine. After last night, my father told me that a lot of mates were straying and shacking up with girls like the ones I'm speaking of. I have one question. Does it give you some kind of satisfaction to take another womens mate knowing that you will never have the same connection that he had with his mate? I know that my thoughts and feelings probably mean nothing to you considering you don't know me, but you know my parents and look at what they gave up to save their only heir and yet they never strayed from each other. I watched as my mother started to fade being away from my father for so long, I even heard her on the phone begging him to reject her that way it wouldn't hurt so much, cause we had no idea that coming home would ever be an option. They were faced with an impossible situation and yet they still stayed true to each other. I look at them and see the love that I want and when I look at my mate that is the love I see but its all for me. I get what its like wanting a love like that but I also know how terrifying it can be not knowing if you will be accepted or not, I felt the same way when my time came. A show of hands. How many of you have no mate? ( a lot of women raised there hands at least twenty or more) Okay how many of you would like a chance to find your mate?" ( all the same girls raised there hands even the ones who started this whole issue) I have spoken to the Queen today about setting up a monthly party at each royal families house and chance for all unmated men and women to attend as well as your learders meet with other learders. Once I arrive at the palace I plan to start making the necessary arrangements. Once all the planning is done, I will send out invitations and my father will pass them out to all who are single. Please, in that time, show some respect for already mated couples, and men treat your mates like they should cause if you don't, they could have a second chance mate out there who would love to have them. I walked into the house and up to my room not bothering to wait for my mate, after that I couldn't handle being at the party Alex was still preening about everything. I never understood why women did such things to themselves or to other women. I don't care if you want different partners but don't take someone elses. Inside my room I slipped my shoes off and took my dress off and walked straight into the bathroom to shower and chill. I let the hot water run down my back and I started to relax.

Alex, are you there?

I'm here, what you said tonight was beautiful. I wish someone would have said that a long time ago. I've seen so many get rejected for petty reason's.

I turned the water to cold cause my body was starting to heat up from the inside out. I could feel my core burning and I didnt know what was going on.

Alex, something is wrong. I'm hot all over

Scarlett I think your going into your first heat. Dimitri is the only one who can make it stop, but you need to know there is a possibility of you getting pregnant. The goddess in the end will decide if a pup is right for you. Your heat will last for a few days unless you mate and mark each others then it will subside.

Alex can you get my mom for me please.

I sat down on the floor and let the cold water run, it wasn't helping the water wasn't warm by the time it touched my skin it was hot I wasn't sure I could keep this up without my mate. It didn't take Alex long to get mom cause she was walking in the bathroom just as I let our a scream.

" Scarlett hun whats wrong?" my mom cried

" Alex said its my heat coming. I'm scared and it hurts mom!" I cried

" I think she is right. I don't think you have a choice on waiting sweetheart. Having your heat isn't supposed to be painful. I will be right back I need to get Willow." said mom.

I laid on the floor in a ball crying cause it hurt so much, why was this happening now of all times and was it always going to be this painful.
