The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate

Chapter Three

I said goodbye to my parents and walked over to Isabella and slipped her my address and was about to walk away and get a few final shots and be on my way. But se stopped me.

“ Scarlett, my Mother and I were wondering if you could help us out with another favor.” Said Isabella.

“OK, I would be happy to help?” I asked.

“ We still have so much to finish up and, since I’m the guest of honor, I can’t really leave until the very end. Any chance you could take my brother out and show him around. Also, I know he’s your mate, so use this time to get to know each other.” Said Isabella.

“ Say yes please, I want to meet our mate. I hope he’s nice, as he is gorgeous. I can’t wait to meet his wolf.” Said Alex

“ Alex, don’t get ahead of yourself. Don’t forget, we still have the issue of me being a witch and werewolves hate us, remember.” I said.

“ You’ll see.” Said Alex, and then she blocked me.

“ Sure, of course, please have him meet me at the valet station and I will gather my things.” I said.

“ Of course. Thank you.” Said Isabella

I quickly said my goodbyes and grabbed my things and walked back to the valet station. I handed him my ticket and waited patiently for him to return. I felt him before I saw him. At first glance, he was hot, but up close he was handsome and slightly intimidating. He had to be at least in his twenty’s. I could feel his eyes on me, but he never did say anything. I was so grateful to see the valet with my car. I started to walk toward my car before he even came to a complete stop.

“ Wow, that is a beautiful car!” Said Dimitri.

“ Thank you. I'm pretty fond of it.” I said, grabbing the keys and sliding inside the car.

“ Bet your dad doesn’t let you drive it much, huh.” Said Dimitri

At this point, I knew he was fishing for information. Or he really just didn't know what to say to me. If that was the case I was in the same boat too. Because truth be known, I had no idea what to say to him either.

“ It’s not my dad’s car. It’s mine actually. I got it when I turned sixteen, and last year my mom had the interior and a paint job.” I said.

“ Really?” Said Dimitri.

“ Yes, really is that so hard to believe?” I asked.

“ No its not, just surprised is all. Not many people appreciate the classics anymore. Sadly, I’m one of those people.” Said Dimitri.

I pulled into a Walmart parking lot and stopped. There were some things that needed to be said before this went any further.

“ What are we stopping for?” asked Dimitri.

“Look, I know that we are Mates and I also know that even though me being a witch and having a wolf makes no difference. I'm going to assume that, with all the hatred werewolves have about witches, it means you're going to reject me. So I’m asking you to please do it before we get to my parents' house.” I said.

“ Wait, why would I reject you? And if you haven’t shifted yet, how are you feeling the Mate bond?” Asked Dimitri

“ I don’t actually know, Alex my wolf usually only talks to me through my dreams. She told me that we are special, but wouldn’t explain anymore than that.” I said.

“ When is your first shift supposed to happen?” Asked Dimitri.

“ My birthday is on Sunday, so I’m guessing sometime that day. As I said, Alex hasn’t been very forthcoming about anything.” I said.

“ Your parents never told you about what would happen?” asked Dimitri.

“ I didn’t actually know my Dad up until two weeks ago. He and my Mom are mates, but when the King died, everyone went crazy blaming all the witches. So they made a choice for my Mom and I to leave to keep me safe since I apparently didn’t show signs of having a wolf. That was all. My Dad told me that packs were given the go ahead to kill any and all witches on sight. Your uncle said it was carried out on your orders.” I said.

“ I have a lot of explaining to do. I've never blamed witches for the death of my father. I do, however, believe a witch was involved and that there is more to when happened that day he died. Last week we just found out my uncle lied about everything. There are warrants out for his arrest. I made a live statement about it. I promise witches are no longer being hunted and if they are those doing the hunting will be arrested and will stand trial. Your family must hate me and my whole family.” Said Dimitri.

“ Why would we hate you? What did your uncle lie about?” I asked.

“ In truth, the only thing we could figure out is that he wanted the throne, he used my name to ruin me and to turn my people against me. He figured if all the witches were gone then he would take over and make everything right. He went to great lengths to falsify information to get the Elders to choose him. Thankfully, my Mom played the same game too and when the meeting happened my uncle didn’t win. I feel in some way that my family ruined your life.” Said Dimitri

I was shocked by what he said. Could my parents finally have their life back and be together? He even said that he wouldn’t reject me. That statement alone spoke the loudest, and it made Alex dance.

“ I hope me asking this isn’t over stepping on my part, but what makes you think more happened that day your Dad died?” I asked.

“ At first I didn’t think there was, then the dreams started to happen. They bothered me for a really long time, but as I got older, not so much. Certain things would happen and the more I tried to think about that specific part of the dream, when I was awake I would get this pain. The harder I tried, the worst the pain would get.” He said, pointing just above his left eye.

I started to think back about my training. She was always teaching me new things. A mind block was the first thing that came to my mind in Dimitri’s case.

“ Do you get a really bad taste in your mouth when the pain happens as well?” I asked.

“ Yeah actually I do, its horrible and it takes a long time to go away and a lot of brushing my teeth. “ Said Dimitri.

“ You may not like this, but I think there is a memory block spell. It will cause a bad taste and a pain just above the left eye. The bad taste comes from dark magic. The reason you taste it is because the spell was placed on your mind and it happens to be close to your mouth.” I said.

“ Can it be removed by you or your Mom?” Asked Dimitri

“ We can ask her.” I said,

With everything out in the open now, I pulled out of the parking lot and headed home. On the way there, Dimitri reached over and slipped our hands together. I could instantly feel tingles coming from holding his hand. It was a really nice and relaxing feeling. With everything that happened today, I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next. I still had another three months of school and I wanted to graduate with my class. I did have the option to graduate early, like two months early if I wanted to. With everything on my mind, the drive home didn’t seem to take very long. I pulled into the driveway and turned off the car. We walked inside and I showed him the kitchen and then the living room.

“ Please make yourself at home, your welcome to watch Tv and help yourself to anything in the fridge. I'm going to talk to my parents and change.” I said.

“ Thank you.” Said Dimitri.

I nodded and walked back out into the hallway towards my Mom’s office. I could hear them talking behind the door and from the sounds of it my Dad really wasn’t that happy. Lucky me, I get to tell him that everything has changed and also that the future King also happens to be my Mate.

Knock Knock

“ Come in.” Said Mom

“ Hey, is everything OK?” I asked.

“ No Scarlett its not! You two just invited the future King to our house. You do realize they are the reason for our situation.” Yelled Dad

“ Dad, there is so much you don’t even know. First I should probably explain, the future King Dimitri Petrova also happens to be my Mate. Oh and it turns out his Uncle is responsible for all the witchhunting that has happened since the King died. Dimitri made a live statement that it was supposed to be sent to all pack Alpha’s.” I said quickly.

“Oh and he is here with me right now, he’s in the living room watching TV.” I said.

“ Wait, how is it possible he can’t be your Mate. That is just asking for trouble. How is this going to work? Is he going to reject you or is he going to kill you? I can’t lose you both again.” Cried Dad

“ Noah, you need to stop this right now! Why are you acting like that? Our daughter is right. Dimitri did a live post a few days after you met Scarlett and even the Elder spoke. Dimitri wasn’t responsible for anything, it was all his Uncle. As soon as he is found, he will be arrested. This should be an exciting day when your daughter meets her mate. We need to be supportive and your issues aren’t helping.” Yelled Mom

“ Thank You Mom. I still truthfully haven’t even wrapped my head around it. Also, I think he has a memory block on his mind. He was explaining to me about the dreams he’s been having. He said there is information that he feels isn’t right and when he concentrates he gets a really sharp pain just above his left eye and also gets a really bad taste in his mouth. That is the classic sign of Dark Magic, as well as a memory block.” I said.

“ Can you please have Dimitri join us?” Asked Mom

“Yes, I will go get him.” I said.

I walked to the living room and said “ Hey my Mom wants to talk to us.” He nodded and followed me back to the office.

“Dimitri, this is my parents, Alpha Noah Mason and my Mother Luna Everly Mason. Mom, Dad, this is Dimitri Petrova.” I said.

“ Hello, it's wonderful to meet you both. First off, I would like to say I’m so sorry for everything that has happened. I wish I could change what happened to your family. Unfortunately, I can’t, but I do hope to make things right. I promise to always take care of your daughter and she will want for nothing.” Said Dimitri.

“ Thank you Dimitri, that is very heartwarming and I’m so happy to hear it. I know that you were’t delt the best of hands in life, so I agree lets take this opportunity to move forward. After talking to Scarlett, I believe she is right about you having a memory block. Between the two of us we can remove it, but I need time to prep and make sure we have enough space to do this. It’s late tonight for us to try. Is your mother still planning to come and meet you?” Asked Mom

“ I believe she was hoping to speak to you herself. Now that I’ve met Scarlett, I don’t plan on going anywhere until she is ready.” Said Dimitri.

“ I wouldn’t expect anything else, you are welcome here. You have to go and talk, get to know each other. And Dimitri welcome to the family.” Said Mom

“ Thank You.” Said Dimitri

With that, we went back to the living room and I said I would be back. I still hadn’t changed out of my dress and truthfully I was ready for something comfy to wear. I walked out of the room and snapped my fingers and was instantly in my sweatpants and my off the shoulder t-shirt. I did have a sports bra under to keep things in place. I didn’t eat much dinner at the Gala due to being shocked that I had won the scholarship and everything. So I took the left over enchiladas from last night out of the fridge, and turned on the over to warm everything up. I grabbed a couple of soda’s out of the fridge and went beck to the living room.

“I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you are going to be staying the night. Would you like some sweatpants to wear? I'm sure that Tux isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world?” I asked.

“Actually, that would be great.” Said Dimitri.

“OK, I hope magic doesn’t bother you because I do’t actually have anything that will fit you.” I said

“ I don’t mind, I meant what I said. You being a Witch doesn’t change how I feel about you. It's apart of you and I will love everything about you.” Said Dimitri.

“OK, that means a lot to me.” I said.

I snapped my fingers and some sweats and a black t-shirt appeared.

“ Here you go. There is a bathroom just right around the corner, there is a closet that has hangers so you can hang up your Tux.” I said.

He nodded and grabbed the clothes and walked out. Man did he look good in that tux, but I was pretty sure he would look even better out of it. Oh wow, where was that coming from? I never had thoughts like that about a man. I’ve never had a boyfriend. Hell, I’ve never even had my first kiss. It almost happened once when I was fourteen. Willow and I had gone to this party and everyone was playing spin the bottle and I ended up playing and the boy I got was super cute, and really popular and he tried to kiss me and I freaked out and gave him my cheek. We both agreed not to say anything as long as I promised to say if anyone asked that we kissed. I agreed and we never spoke about it again. I grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels and there wasn’t much on. So I went to the DVR and started to play Supernatural. It was my favorite show and to be honest, Dimitri kinda looked like Dean and a bit like the ( book version) of Christen Grey. He was built like Dean and had a style like Christian. I definitely was’t complaining at all. I wasn’t paying attention and I didn’t hear Dimitri walk out. He cleared his throat and asked “Any chance you could zap in a bigger sized shirt for me?”

I looked up and I forgot how to speak. He was beautiful and I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. “ You have abs for days.” I said out loud, not realizing I did

“ Thank You. “ Said you.

“ Oh man, did I just actually say that out loud?” I asked, looking away and snapping another shirt in

“You did, don’t be nervous, it was cute. And I'm glad you noticed. Thank you for the shirt.” Said Dimitri.

“ Your welcome.” I said

All a sudden, my nerves were off the charts, I didn’t know what to say or how to even act. I didn’t want to be nervous around my mate, I wanted to experience all the good things that I had read.

“ What’s on your mind, Red?” Asked Dimitri.

“ A lot actually. I don’t even know where to begin.” I said.

“ You can say or ask me anything. I know there is a lot you don’t know, and I know this can’t be easy. Once you fully shift, things will be a lot clearer too.” Said Dimitri.

“OK, how is this going to work? You're going to be King and I'm just an average girl who just found out two weeks ago she actually has a wolf?” I asked.

“ You aren’t average and there is a reason the Goddess chose us as Mates. Yes, you will become Queen, but it won’t be for a while. My Mother will train you and then, when we are both ready, we will take the Throne. I want you to be yourself. I watched you tonight at the Gala and the way you carry yourself is perfect. You radiate confidence and grace. These are all very good qualities for a Princess to have. My gut tells me that you will be a natural, as for the rest, we will just go with it.” Said Dimitri.

“ You were watching me tonight, I didn’t even notice. When would I have to become Queen?” I asked.

“ I was sneaky about it because I assumed you knew who I was and I didn’t want you to get scared. Well, my coronation was supposed to be six days after the speech I made. But the Elders were called away to the old country on business and there was no word on when they would be back. So until they return or word gets to them that I’ve found my Mate, we wait. That’s a good thing. That time you will train and we will attend royal functions from balls to business meetings alongside my Mother.” Said Dimitri

“ So your saying we will have to time to get to know each other and then prepare for the future. Are they going to want us to full fill the mating…………..

I trailed off feeling totally stupid about what I was saying , here I was sitting next to the hottest man I’d ever laid my eyes on and I couldn’t even talk about something as simple as s*x.

“ Scarlett, why are you so nervous?” Asked Dimitri.

“I'm nervous because I don’t know what to say or do. I've never done this before. I never had boyfriends or anything like that. I'm a virgin….” I said.

“ You being a virgin doesn’t bother me at all.” Said Dimitri.

“OK, are you still a virgin then?” I asked.

I saw that change in his eyes and I was worried I wouldn’t like his answer. Alex was even feeling hurt too.

“ I want to be honest about everything with you. No I’m not, it’s very rare that Lycan’s find a Mate this soon. When I went off to school at sixteen, I met a girl and we dated up until a year and a half ago. She was the only person I have ever been with. We broke up because I knew she couldn’t be the Queen my people needed when she showed me her true colors……

He was going to say more but I couldn’t hear anything he had to say, my heart felt like it was broken in two. So, basically, he was saying that if she didn't turn out to be such a shitty person, he would have made her his Queen and not waited for his Mate. I know I didn’t know a lot about werewolf culture, but I knew how much Mate Bond meant.

This was the pain I was feeling. I knew what was about to happen. I needed my parents. They would know what to do.

“ Scarlett, I can’t help it. I'm sorry this is going to be painful.” Said Alex

“ Why are you so upset Alex? He was being honest with us about his life. Before you took control, he was going to say something else.” I said.

“ Wolves are naturally jealous and that’s what is forcing our shift. I can’t stop it. You need to get outside.” Said Alex

“ DAD HELP ME!” I screamed and fell to my knees.

It felt like I was being burned alive, no matter what I did, I could’t stop it. I felt someone pick me up and carry me, by the tingles I could tell it was Dimitri.

“ Alex, it hurts, please make it stop.” I cried.

“ I can’t, you have to let go and let me come forward. That’s the only way to stop it. You need to picture us in wolf form and then let the change happen.” Said Alex.

I pictured what she told me to do. I thought of my body covered in fur and let Alex have full control. Once I let her come forward, nothing hurt as badly anymore. Then all the pain was gone, I was sitting in the back of my mind, watching everything through the eyes of Alex. And it was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. Dimitri was standing there, he quickly changed into his midnight black Lycan. He was beautiful and a lot bigger than me. He has a white half moon on his forehead.

“ We have the same markings but only in black.” Said Alex

“ Wow, how is that possible?” I asked.

“It’s because we are destined, Mates. Everything will be explained when you are both ready. Until then, just enjoy this and each other.” Said Alex

“OK, I can do that. Is Dimitri mad at me for you over reacting?” I asked.

“ No, he and Dane both understand, even Dane was mad at him the whole time he dated that stupid girl.. They already love us very much, it’s a Lycan thing,” Said Alex.

“OK, I think I love him too already, isn’t that crazy we just met?” I said.

“ Its not crazy, its gift that some never actually find.” Said Alex.

I sat back and let Alex enjoy her time with her mate, she promised to keep everything g-rated even though I knew she didn’t want to. I told her that everything would happen when it did, but until then I wanted to wait. I was about to close my eyes when I heard my Mom and Dad yelling, wanting to know what was going on.

“ Scarlett, once I shift back you are going to pass out, Dimitri needs to shift back and explain what happened and why we shifted early. You will wake up in about an hour and you may feel slightly sick, but that is normal. I need you to think of us in human form.” Said Alex

I did as Alex asked and then everything went dark.
