Chapter Four

Dimitri’s (POV)

Seeing Scarlett in pain like that broke my heart, and knowing I was the reason for this made it even harder. Once she was shifted, I shifted as well, so that way Dane could meet Alex and they could have their time together.

“ Scarlett wants to know if you are upset with her about Alex over reacting?” Asked Dane

“ No, not at all.” I said.

“ Good, you were the i***t who dated that stupid girl.” Said Dane

“ I know I screwed up OK, I will do anything to make it better. I never wanted to hurt her. But I also didn’t think we would ever find out Mate either.” I said.

“ I know you didn’t and I know I didn’t make it any easier for you. Her parents are coming. Alex just told me that you will have to explain everything. The. change back will make Scarlett pass out for an hour or so.” Said Dane

“OK, let's shift back and make sure she is comfortable.” I said.

“OK.” Said Dane

I shifted back and I looked at her parents and her mother was in shock and her Dad looked pissed.

“ I promise I can explain, but please let me cover her up and put her in bed where she can rest.” I said.

They agreed and I slipped my shirt off and slipped it over her naked body and picked her up and carried her to her bedroom and laid her down under the blanket. I kissed her forehead and said “ I love you Scarlett” and I walked back downstairs and found her parents waiting in the kitchen.

“ What the hell happened?” Asked Noah.

“ That would be my fault. We were talking about things in life and we got talking about our future and this was so embarrassing for both of us. We were talking about private things and how they have’t happened for her. I was honest and told her about me having a girlfriend and, one time and well, it set her wolf off. That is what caused the early shift. I tried to stop it but Alex is strong and very powerful.” I said,

“OK, so her wolf was jealous about what happened with my ex-girlfriend, but bad enough to cause an early shift. Also she is a pure white wolf. She truly is blessed and in so much danger.” Said Everly

“ We are the perfect match. I’m black with a white crescent moon and she is white with a black crescent moon. Together we hold a lot of power. I’ve heard the legends, but how was she blessed this way? The old text says the next white wolf wasn’t supposed to show up for another ten years?” I said.

“ When Noah and I decided to start a family, things went well at first. We got pregnant right away and a few months later I miscarried. We kept trying and that was followed by two more and at that point I was becoming angry and wanted to stop trying for good. My heart couldn’t take it. Well, a year later, we met a young woman. Her story was truly unbelievable. She said she was the daughter of the Mood Goddess herself. We didn’t believe her in any sense but we helped her out and she lived with us for about six months. She helped with everything, said it was her way of repaying our kindness. Then one day we woke up and she was gone, and left a note saying “I will see you again one day”. It was like she vanished. Two months later, I found out I was pregnant with Scarlett. She was truly our miracle. No one can figure out how she survived, but she did.” Said Everly

“ That is a very sad but beautiful story. My mother may know more about all of this.” Said Dimitri.

I was about to call my Mom when I heard the door bell ring.

RING RING

“ That is my Mom. Would you like me to get to the door and introduce you. I would like to go be with Scarlett when she wakes up.” I said.

“ Of course thank you.” Said Everly

I walked to the door and opened it. I greeted my Mom and explained what had happened and she smacked me on the back of the head and called me an i***t. And then my sister did the same thing.

“ I know I’m an i***t, I hope she isn’t too upset with me about it. I wanted to explain more but Alex is very strong and there was no stopping her shift. Mom, Isabella, this is Mr and Mrs Mason.” I said.

“Hello, My name is Arianna Petrova, and thank you for letting us meet.” Said Arianna

“ Hello, Im Everly and this is my Mate Noah. It's nice to meet you. Please come in and sit.” Said Everly

“ If you don’t mind, I'm going to go sit with Scarlett.” I said.

“ Of Course, go, we can speak in my office.” Said Everly.

I walked to Scarlett’s room and was grateful to see she was still asleep. I sat on the bed next her and turned on her TV and waited.

Everly’s (POV)

I was so happy to know that my daughter had found a good mate. My mate, on the other hand, was having a hard time coming to terms. His little girl is growing up. I knew this day would be hard for him to accept he had just come back into her life and now she was all grown up and about ready to start her own life.

“I'm sorry my son caused your daughter to have her first shift. I hope you're not too upset with him. I wasn’t very happy with him not waiting for his mate, but his Uncle pushed him and told him that without one they wouldn’t let him have the crown. He looked up to his uncle at the time, so she listened to him. So I apologize as well.” Said Arianna

“ Thank you for the apology. It happens and he explained some, not all, truthfully that is between them. While we waited for you to arrive, we figured out that your son has had a spell placed on him to block his memories.” I said.

“ Can you help my son?” Asked Arianna.

“ Yes, I think we can. I can’t do it alone. Scarlett is stronger than even me. I will need to prep tonight and we can do it tomorrow before the party. Once the block is removed, we will know what really happened that day.” I said,

“ I know what happened that day. My husband wasn’t killed that day, he was taken by his own brother. Dimitri thought that he was dead and, as a young boy, he had dreams and they plagued him so badly that I had the spell placed on him. Damien, my brother-in-law, recommended the witch and everything. Her name was Mauve. She came in and performed the spell and left. Little did I know that I was playing into Damien’s hands. I just wanted my son to have a normal life growing up. I didn’t know she did Dark Magic until his pain started when he got older. After Damien tried to ruin Dimitri’s reputation, I didn’t know who to ask, until tonight.” Said Arianna

My heart broke for her when she explained what happened. But what shocked me more was the name she had said. Mauve, it couldn’t be her she was dead. I was going to remove the block that way. I knew for sure what and who we were dealing with.

“ I don’t think badly of you. As parents, we have to do what we can to protect our children and sometimes we have to do things that may not be very easy but they have to be done in order to do the right thing. I will remove the block and we will find out what truly happened that day. And hopefully, we can find your mate and bring him home to you. It is late. I say we call it a night and let everyone rest and we will get started tomorrow around will say ten that gives everyone a little extra time. I have two spare rooms you are both welcome to stay in.” I said.

“ Thank you so much for your help. I know how hard it must have been to let us into your home after everything Damien put you and your family through. I would love to stay but Isabella has a very early flight out tomorrow so we are going to have a Mother's Daughter night. Have my son call me when it's a good time to come over. Good night.” Said Arianna

And just as fast as they came, they were gone. I was about to walk upstairs when I smelled something burning. There was left over’s in the oven. I turned it off and pulled the burnt food out and took it outside. I walked back in and snapped my fingers making the same thing, so Scarlett and Dimitri could eat. I walked up stairs and knocked.

“ Come in” Said Dimitri.

“ Where is she?” I asked.

“ Bathroom she just woke up.” Said Dimitri

“ Oh OK, I brought up food. After that, I figured you both might be hungry after all that happened. I’m going to head to bed. Your Mother wants you to call her tomorrow when it's a good time to come over.” I said.

“OK, thank you.” Said Dimitri.

I walked over to the bathroom door and knocked.

“ Hon its me, I just wanted to say goodnight, I’m headed to bed. It's been a long night. I love you.” I said.

“ I love you too. Good Night.” Said Scarlett.

Scarlett’s (POV)

When I woke up, I didn’t expect to be in bed and I didn’t think Dimitri would be there either. I was very groggy and slightly dizzy when I sat up.

“Take it easy. You may be a little off after that. Shifting takes a lot of energy until you get used to it. Can I get you anything?” Asked Dimitri

“ Bathroom please.” Was all I could be out. He stood up and picked me up and carried me into the bathroom and sat me down.

“ Call me when your done and I’ll come back and help you.” Said Dimitri.

I nodded and he walked out. He wasn’t wearing a shirt. I wondered what happened to it. Then I looked in the mirror and realized I was wearing his shirt. I could’t remember what happened when I shifted back, no matter how hard I tried.

“ Alex are you there?” I asked

“I'm here, are you OK?” Asked Alex

“ Yeah I’m good. What happened? Why am I wearing Dimitri’s shirt?” I asked.

“ Because he gave it to us when we shifted back, it was so no one saw us naked.” Said Alex

So I wasn’t even conscious when my mate saw me naked for the first time. The more I thought about it the more I realized it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. Alex had said that Dimitri wasn’t mad at me, but I was still nervous about having to face him after my wolf had a serious melt down.

Alex “Growling”

I like wearing his shirt but I felt like I needed to add a bit more clothing on my bottom half. I snapped on a pair of shorts and called that good. I took a deep breath and was about to open the door when there was a knock..

“ Hon its me, I just wanted to say goodnight, I’m headed to bed. It's been a long night. I love you.” said Mom

“ I love you too. Good Night.” I night

I heard the door open and shut and then I walked out.

“ Your Mom brought us some food. She thought we might be hungry.” Said Dimitri.

“ Oh good I'm starving.” I said.

“ Scarlett, I'm so sorry about what happened tonight, I should have explained better..

“ Wait, please let me go first. I’m sorry for my over reaction. I tried to get her to calm down and listen to what you were trying to say but she couldn’t stop it, now you can continue.” I said.

“You truly are amazing. I hope you know that. You have no reason to apologize. I should have said before that I didn’t choose her as my chosen mate. I broke up with her because I wanted to wait for you. I promise I will always choose you. Also, she was a horrible person to my people and my family. She was also cheating on me the entire time we were together. So when I say I’ve only even been with one person, I mean it, it was only one time.” Said Dimitri

“I'm glad you broke up with her and chose to wait for me even though you didn’t know you would find me this fast.” I said.

“ Actually, I have a confession to make. When my sister came home and started going through all the applicants for the scholarship, I got roped into helping and as I was going through the applications I saw yours and it had a picture and I knew right then you were my Mate. That’s why I came tonight and, yes, I was willing to wait, however long it took to find you.” Said Dimitri.

“ You knew just by looking at my picture that we were mates. I'm really glad that it didn’t take that long. Everything for me has changed so much in the last two weeks. When I found out I had a wolf I was so terrified that when I found my Mate they would reject me due to my Witch background. When Alex told me you were at the party tonight, I almost left.” I said.

“ I’m really glad that you didn’t leave. So are you going to be OK with helping your Mom remove the spell tomorrow?” Asked Dimitri

“ I am to. Yep, now that I’ve got food in my stomach, I feel a lot better. I think we should cancel my party tomorrow night.” I said.

“ Why would we cancel your party?” asked Dimitri.

“ Because this is far more important than any party. Unless I move it to Sunday, I’m going to go get a soda. Would you like one?” I asked.

“ Ya I would love one.” Said Dimitri.

I nodded and walked down to the kitchen and I found Mom sitting at the table drinking a cup of tea. She was deep in thought because she didn’t even notice me.

“ Mom are you OK?” I asked

“ What..oh Scarlett, how are you feeling?” Asked Mom

“ Yeah, I’m fine. How was the meeting with Dimitri’s Mom and sister?” I asked.

“ Enlightening to be honest, turns out you're not wrong about the memory block. Apparently, Dimitri’s dream were so bad that it was affecting his everyday life. So his mother had the block put on him to let him at least have a normal life. His uncle recommended the witch. She gave me a name.” Said Mom

“ Let me guess she didn’t tell him about it. What’s her name?” I asked.

“ She didn’t, but as a Mother I understand where she is coming from. She said her name was Mauve.” Said Mom

“ Wait Mom, isn’t that your sister’s name?” I asked.

“ Her name was Marrabelle until she changed it to Mauve. As far as I know, that name is very popular in the dark witch community. It can’t be her. I killed her.” Said Mom with tears in her eyes.

“ Mom, it will be OK. This isn’t your fault but we need to remove the block as soon as possible.You need to know if it's her. We need to do this now.” I said.

“ Scarlett wait, Dimitri’s father isn’t dead. His mother would have felt it since they were full-blown mates. She hasn’t told him that either. We can’t ruin this for her, she needs to tell him herself.” Said Mom

“OK, your right. We can’t tell him but we need to do this now Mom no waiting until tomorrow. Do you have her phone number?” I asked.

“ Yeah, it's in the office.” Said Mom

I quickly walked to the office and dialed her number and waited until she finally answered.

“Hello. This is Arianna.” Said Arianna

“ Hello, this is Scarlett Mason. I didn’t get a chance to meet you tonight, but some important things about your conversation have raised some questions for us. My mother and I feel that we need to move forward with the block removal. I'm so sorry for it being so late but we feel this is the best for everyone involved.” I said.

“ I appreciate your call. May I ask what the rush is now? When I was there, your Mother wanted to wait until tomorrow. What changed?” Asked Arianna

“ My mother was worried about me at that time. As for the rush, it will be explained in full detail once we know for sure what and who we are dealing with. The urgency is in all our favor. My mother informed me of everything you talked about while I was indisposed. We can’t proceed without telling Dimitri everything.” I said.

“ I can understand that your Mother was so kind as to not judge me by the choices I’ve made in my life when it comes to my son. I hope that you will look at the bigger picture as well and keep an open mind.” Said Arianna.

“ I understand why you did want what you to do. I’ve seen what a parent does for the love and safety of a child and I respect what you did. I don’t agree with the lying parts, but I’ve been in that situation and, honestly, it's not a great place to be. Granted my situation was different than Dimitri’s, he was going to be angry and hurt. You will have to let him work through those emotions on his own.” I said.

“ I understand. I'm ready. Could you please have your Mother open a portal?” Asked Arianna

“ Yes, I can do that. See you soon.” I said, hanging up the phone.

I just hoped after this was done that Dimitri didn’t hate me. One for not telling him everything my Mom just said or two for the simple fact that my evil aunt may be working with his uncle. It would seem that not only did my whole life change, it also became really complicated. I walked to the kitchen and told Mom what the plan was. I took a deep breath and walked up stairs to tell Dimitri what the plan was. I opened my door and found him watching the TV. He was smiling and I actually hated to interrupt him. He must have felt me watching him because he caught me off guard.

“ Babe, what are you doing?” Asked Dimitri.

“ Nothing just watching you. So something came up and now that I’m up and feeling better I think it's a good idea to remove the block now. I promise everything will be explained. But I need you to promise me something.” I said.

“ Ok Im ready anytime. What do you need me to promise?” Asked Dimitri

“ I need you to promise me that no matter what happens tonight or what we find out, that nothing between us will change.” I said.

“OK, I can promise that. Are you sure your OK?” Asked Dimitri

“I'm fine just worried is all. This is going to be painful for you and I won’t be able to take the pain away. I can dull it but once the block is gone and everything that has been hidden. It’s going to come crashing in like a tidal wave and I can’t stop it.” I said.

“ I will be OK and I will have you there with me. I’m not asking you to take the pain away. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy,. I'm willing to risk it all. I need to know what happened. There is more that your worried about than just me isn’t there?” Asked Dimitri,

“ Yes, but until I know for sure I can’t say anything and truthfully saying that to you kills me right now. I feel so deeply for you already that I can’t even stand the idea that I’m keeping something from you. But this isn’t my something to tell.” I said

“ Babe, you don’t have to explain, I can see in your eyes that your broken up about this. It will be OK, I promise. Now let's go get this set up so we can move forward.” Said Dimitri.

“OK thank you for understanding.” I said

“ You're welcome, wait please. There is something I really need to do before this happens.” Said Dimitri.

I stopped and turned around and looked at him and said “OK”, he stepped closer to me and slowly slipped his hand along the side of my face, this thumb lightly swiped my bottom lip and I looked into his eyes. “ I would really like to kiss you.” Said Dimitri. “ I might be bad at it.” I said as he slowly lowered his head to mine. His lips brushed mine ever so gently, and in that moment everything fell into place. I opened up myself and full on kissed him back. I opened my mouth and when he slipped his tongue inside I moaned and wrapped my arms around his neck. The next thing I know is I'm up against the wall and he lifts me up by my ass and its like my body is on auto pilot and my legs wrap around his waist. I can feel him at my core and from what I can feel I’m terrified. Panic is starting to rear its ugly head and all a sudden Dimitri sets me down and steps away from me. I was confused as to why he stopped.

“ Scarlett Im sorry. I didn’t mean to lose control.” Said Dimitri.

“ Why are you sorry? I didn’t ask you to stop.” I said, feeling my face flush

“ Dane and I could feel you starting to panic. I don’t even want to be the reason you feel that way.” Said Dimitri.

“ None of what we were doing was causing the panic. I didn’t even know you could feel any of my emotions yet.” I said, trying to change the subject.

“ Red, I can tell you're trying to change the subject, you need to tell me what was wrong and hopefully I can fix it. You tell me and I will explain.” Said Dimitri.

“ I could feel you, your size and, well, I may not have any experience in that department, but I know what you have going on down there. It’s not going to fit anywhere.” I said and he started laughing. Wow, now I felt really stupid.

“ Babe, I can promise you that it will fit. It will just take some practice to get to that part. And I don’t mean to laugh, it's just the look on your face was pretty priceless.” Said Dimitri. I wanted to be mad at him for laughing, but I had no doubt that he was right.

“ I’m laughing on the inside. If you say so, then OK, come on we need to get down stairs’s your Mom will be here anytime.” I said.
