The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate

Chapter Five

Dimtri and I walked hand in hand down stairs, and sure enough, his Mother was there waiting for us to get started. She smiled at us as we entered the room. I wasn't about to return it until my mom elbowed me in the ribs, so I smiled back, pouring myself and Dimtri a cup of coffee. I wasn't trying to be rude to her, but I was conflicted. She had been lying to him for so long, and now here I was lying as well.

"Please let us head to the basement and we will get started." Said Mother

Once in the basement, I took to setting up everything and my Mom started to explain everything.

" The crystal's that Scarlett is setting up were passed down from a very long line of witches. The story that was told to me by my mother went as told. These four crystals represent the four founding families. The Witches, The Werewolves, The Vampire's, and the Fae. The crystals were entrusted to the witches to keep peace among the four royals. This was long before the dark ages, and long before witches were burned at the stake. This was a time when all creatures lived in peace. Once every few years, the families would get together and talk politics. Things were wonderful until, three short years later, the Alpha King had made a treaty with a local pack that his son, the future King, would marry the alpha's daughter. The children of this treaty were young and not even old enough to shift. The Alpha King wanted to step down in ten years' time, so he groomed his son to be the best. In all the young prince's travels he found his mate. His mate was not a wolf, she was of witch blood, she was the younger sister to the future Queen of the Witches. The young prince rushed home to tell his father. In fine print, it was said that is either party was to find there mate the treaty would be null and void. The Alpha King informed the other Alpha, and when the daughter was told she went crazy. She had already found her mate and rejected him and she demanded the prince do the same. When she was denied she left, and completely disappeared and no one could find her. The pair were married and a year and half later they welcomed there first child. Again, life went on and things changed. Once a year a party was held for all the young so everyone individual had a chance to find their mate and make friends. Many years later, the young women came back and she wasn't alone, somehow she was taught blood magic and with that she wiped the royal families out. Yet only some didn't die. They lived and eventually she was killed, but not before they questioned her to find out who taught her that horrible magic and she was bound to never speak there name. So they killed her, and that was the end of the royal families but not there bloodlines. My family in fact is direct descendants from the Witch royal family. That is why the crystals are in our possession, we are the keeper's." Said Mom

" Everly not many know the stories of old like that.But you should know that our family is also direct desentdants from the Wolf royal family. I think it was destiny for our children to be mated. Wait there was a prophecy that I was told as a child and I can't remember how it goes, but I do remember it has something to do with the royal families and there descendants. I will be sure to look more into that." Said Arianna.

" Yes and if you need help please I really love to research the old stories." Said Mom

" Before you start, Dimtri there is something I need to tell you before you begin and I hope that you understand I did what I did as a mother who was worried and scared that there child was going to die." Said Arianna

"Ok, what is it mom?" asked Dimtri

" Im the reason the block was placed on your mind. I went to your uncle after the accident and told him that you weren't eating or sleeping and, no matter how I tried to comfort you it just wasn't enough. The doctor's suggested that I put you into and induced coma so we could as least feed you and figure out what to do. Your uncle suggested the mind block and at the time I was so desperate to save you that I would have done anything at that point. I just hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me." Said Arianna.

When my mom told me she didn' t get into full detail about how bad off Dimtri really was, I was crying now not just for my mate but for his mother.

"Mom, I can forgive you for that, I can't imagine what you went through with losing dad and then almost losing me. You did what you had to do." Said Dimitri.

" There is more, I tried to talk to you before the block was placed but when I brought up what happened you would scream and mumble stuff that I couldn't understand. So I never told you and when the witch placed the block she told me to never bring up any of your triggers. You need to know that your Father is alive." said Arianna

" What no your joking? Why wouldn't you have said anything, even with all the evidence against uncle!" Yelled Dimitri.

" Why would I joke about that? I never felt our mate bond break. Your father and I were destined mates. If he had died, I would have known and possibly died myself. And I still feel it now he's alive and give been searching for him and I will never stop. My hope is that once the block is removed we will have more information that just your uncle. I don't know what else to say but Im sorry." Said Arianna

My heart truly broke for both of them, I understood where they both stood and I couldn't take sides. After seeing the aftermath of my parents, I could honestly say that I would have done the same thing if it meant I was protecting my child from harms way. "Please let's get started. The moon is now at it highest point. Scarlett, I need you in the circle with Dimitri. Now remember this will be painful for both of you. Also this is just a block removal, you will see everything that has been hidden but you won't hear anything. Scarlett I will see what you see." Said Mom

We stepped into the circle and once it was closed we sat down and joined hands. the moment I opened my mind I felt my magic swarm around me like a warm sweater. The circle was fully closed and no one could hear us and we coudn't hear them. It was created that way, as to not distress the family anymore due to the pain. " I need you to know that my Mom told me what

your Mother had told her. I knew about your father and a bit about why the block was placed. I need you to understand why I kept it from you." I said, he looked at me for a moment before he took a deep breath and said "I know why you didn't tell me, it wasn't your story to tell and I know it was killing you to keep it from me. Im not angry with you or even my Mom."

My love for him grew from that very moment. Suddenly, everything went dark and a slight pain started just above my right eye. Dimitri's grip on my hands tightened, I started to look around and could see color starting to form around us. Greens and browns and black until finally the scene before us appeared. We were in a forest clearing and there was a river with a little water fall. It kind of reminded me of a larger waterslide. Next to the river bank was a man and a boy. I recognized the boy right away and it was my love. He looked so sweet and carefree. He looked a lot like his father, they had the same smile and eyes, his father was tickling him and they were both laughing. Then there was a shift in the air and thats when things started to change, the King being an Alpha, he was able to pick up on the change before anything happened. He quickly picked up his son and walked towards the shorebank. He handed his son something and it looked like he slipped it into his mouth and his father placed him in the water in a big group of cat tail's. You could no longer see the boy. The pain started to become intense and no matter how hard I tried to push it back it pushed harder, I could feel Dimitri wanted to give up, but I encouraged him through the bond that we had developed and he held strong. All of a sudden, a woman who I knew was a dark Witch stepped out of the shadows and then behind her came a man. He looked like the King, it was his brother, I was sure of it. They were having a discussion about something and in that moment I really wished we could hear what was being said. In the next moment, two large wolves were fighting and it wasn't fair. The witch was helping the brother win. Once the fight was over, the King was lying there in a bloody mess, even i believed he had to be dead. The brother shifted back to his human form and bent down to say something. I focused so hard and even channeled my magic and then I heard him say, " I'm not going to kill you, I want you to watch as I ruin everything you have ever built and watch as I take what should have rightfully been mine. Your wife and your children and your kingdom. You will get to enjoy what our perfect parents have left for me, while I get to enjoy what they left for you. Your plans to find the heirs to the original royal families stops now. There is no hope of the unclean. Now that you're out of the way, all the bybreds will die and when the blood moon happens the prophecy will be complete and I will rule the whole world from creatures to humans alike. Welcome to the new world order brother. Oh, this lovely little thing here will be your new caregiver be nice or she will make you suffer. Mauve take care of this. I need to find that damn boy before he ruins all my plans." Yelled the brother.

Another man showed up and picked up the King and left the clearing. The king's brother looked around for what felt like forever. When he couldn't find the boy, he gave up and left. I thought the memory would fade but it didn't. I kept watching as young Dimitri climbed out of the water. As he looked around and saw all the blood he screamed and cried until his mother and the guards showed up. By this point, the pain had taken full control of our bodies and we gave in and passed out.

The pain hadn't hit me as hard as it did Dimitri. I woke up before he did and looked around. Everyone asked if I was OK and what happened. My mouth was sahara desert dry and I couldn't form a single word. When they finally caught on, Dad brought me several bottles of water. I had just finished my first bottle and Dimitri was waking up. He sat up slowly rubbing his head and he looked around and when his eyes landed on me he pulled me into a hug and kissed me with so much passion I felt it clear down to my toes. This wasn't the reaction that I was expecting. I handed him the bottle of water and once we were done we had both consumed five bottles each.

" Mom, your right he isn't dead. The witch that put the block on me works for Damien. That's why he recommended her. He looked for me that day. He knew Dad and I were going to our spot to have a father-son day. It was all a set up, we have to find him." Said Dimitri. Arianna was about to say something before I cut her off, I had to get this out.

" I know where your Father is. Somehow, I channeled all my energy into what he was saying to your dad after the fight and I heard it. When your grandparents made your father king they gave your uncle something. What was it?" I asked.

" They gave him there winter castle. He loved spending time there as a child. We need to play this smart. If he really is there he's got to be guarded." Said Arianna,

" He is guarded by a witch named Mauve." I said, as I said that name out loud the color drained from my Mom's face. I knew it was her. I had seen her pictures and I knew the story. But what I wanted to know was how she was still alive.

" Scarlett please tell me your wrong, it can't even be possible I killed her and there were witnesses to see it. We watched as they placed her on the pyre and set it on fire." Said Mom

" Mom its her. She looks the same as she did from the very last picture you very had of her. Its blood magic. It has to be that is the only way to explain it." I said.

" Wait. What is going on. Why are you worried about this one? Can't you just kill her?" asked Arianna

I was about to speak and explain but Mom stopped me.

" I will explain, when I was a kid my parents were half and half, so naturally you would assume that your children would be the same. Well, not for my younger sister. She was the only one in our family that showed no signs of having a wolf. Everyone thought she was just a really late bloomer and well, she wasn't. That made it hard for her to fit it. She didn't have the wolf part but she was still able to have a mate. She was taking things well at first until we all shifted for the first time and then things got complicated. She grew jealous of all of us and became angry and started acting out. So my parents, doing what they thought was best, sent her to a witch school so that way she would fit in and make some friends. But it was a school open for hybrids to so that didn't help either. She got kicked out and they sent her home. Our mother had a very serious conversation with her and that seemed to help. Until she met Noah, he was visiting as a favor to his father, who was home with his very pregnant Luna. By the point that we had already figured out we were mates. Everyone knew but Mauve, her actual name was Mirabell but she changed it. She came home that day when I was packing to leave with Noah, and she was going on about this boy and she swore he was her mate and that it was going to be perfect. Little did we know she had already found her mate and he rejected her for not having a wolf. Anyway, later that day Noah came to the house to have dinner and to say goodbye. Well, she answered the door and freaked out saying all this crazy stuff, that her wishes had come true and he was there to take her away. We didn't all understand, so we all played it off. When he saw me come down the stair's he walked inside and kissed me and asked how his lovely mate was doing and thats when things got bad. She completely went off the deep end saying it was all my fault that i took everything from her, that he was meant to be her mate. Our parents tried to explain and she wouldn't hear it. Our Mom pulled me aside and asked me to help her bind her magic until they could get her the help she needed. We thought it worked but it turns out she had somehow tapped into blood magic. She disappeared for a couple years. But when she came back it was with a vengeance we fought and I was injured and told I would probably never have children. In the fight she was captured and sentenced to death. I volunteered. I was so angry by what she had taken from me that I killed my own sister. Only from what I'm learning is, she isn't dead. So that means blood magic will save you from death or it gives you half life. Im afriad the only one in the room who is strong enough to fight her and live to talk about it is Scarlett." Said Mom

Through her tears, I walked about to her and pulled her into a hug and let her cry. I said " If that is true then we have no time to waste, right now this is more important than any party. We need to make a plan and set it in motion." I said

"You are not fighting this crazy witch." Said Dimitri

" You have no choice in the matter, Im your only option in getting your Dad back. So now its time we train, I can fight in human form but I don't know how to fight in wolf form." I said

" Hon you can't show the world your wolf form yet, until you are crowned and fully mated you are not safe. You will have your wolf strength to help you the rest will just come naturally." Said Dad

" Ok then, Arianna we need intel on the place send in the best, any and all information is needed. For now lets all get some sleep and then we will plan." I said

" I told you she would make a good Queen, she is a natural leader, its good she takes charge to." Said Arianna

I was alreay heading toward my room, with everything that happened between me shifting and the magic I used, I was beyond ready for sleep and lot of it. I hoped that Mom would be alright after learing her sister is possibly still alive. We all truly just needed a good nights sleep and to go at this with fresh eyes. I was so zoned out that I didn't even hear Dimirtri calling my name.

" Scarlett are you ok?" asked Dimitri

" What..oh yeah Im alright just really tired. I feel like maybe I have over done it tonight with everything. I should be asking you if your alright. Things just got a little crazy." I said

" Im fine, worried about my Dad but im more worried about you fighting this women is possible your aunt." Said Dimitri

" Im scared to and Im hoping that with all the recon that is going to be done there won't be a fight. Im not ready to fight her, I know there is so much more for me to learn and I know that my Mom can't teach it. We do know one thing for sure that hybrids are safe for now and we know that we have a time frame to a blood moon." I said

I sat down at my computer and started searching what a blood moon was. And nothing was jumping out at me about what it signified, but a million other things were. I needed my best friend she would help declutter my mind and help me figure things out.

" Turns out the next blood moon isn't for another ten years so we definitely have a deadline." I said

" Lets hope it doens't take us that long to save my Dad. I would really like to start our lives together and get married." Said Dimitri

" It won't take that long and we will be married before you know it and all of our families will be together. I need to send out a mass email now the let people know the party is canceled. Im in no mood to party and neither are my parents." I said

" I won't argue but you are probably right, just tell them a family emergency came up and you have to cancel. We can always do something later." Said Dimitri

" Im ok with that plan." I said

I pulled out my phone and added everyone

ME: Hey friends sorry for the so late of notice but tomorrow's party has been canceled due to a family emergency. Again im so sorry. If I didn't get everyone please pass it along. We will have a make up party soon, i won't be on my phone much i will be helping my Mom with my Grandma until she is back on her feet. She broke her leg this evening. My mom is already on her way there.

Mom: Its a good thing I can travel by portal since I can't leave the house now. We need to have Willow she could help us by pretending to house sit for us.

Me: You do realise we are witches and we can zap in food anytime or anything else we need right?

Mom: Yeah your right, Im very tired and very confused. Im going to bed goodnight baby i love you

Me: it will be ok and good night i love you to.

"There all done. Are you ready for bed?" I asked

"I am." Said Dimitri

We both crawled under the covers and naturally I curled up next to Dimirti and laid my head on his chest and sleep enveloped us both.

I woke up I looked at the clock and stretched, it was two thirty in the afternoon. And I truly felt refreshed, Dimitri was still asleep next to me so I quietly got out of bed and grabbed my phone and went into the bathroom. I turned on my shower and then went pee. I checked my phone and I had a million messages from a lot of people saying how bummed they were and how they hoped my grandma would be ok. And then I found Willow's message and it was definitely in Willow fashion dramatic, apparently i missed the part about how she was on her way here. The warm water from the shower helped so much, I felt great just a little stiff from everything that happened. I was just about to finished up when there was a loud knock on my door.

"Babe, some crazy girl just walked in here, saw me and walked out." Said Dimitri

" Ok give me a second im just about done." I said

I finished up and wrapped my hair in a towel and grabbed my robe and walked out.

" The shower is all yours, do you need me to zap in some cloths for you?" I asked

" That would be great. Black tshirt and jeans would be great and some boots.?" asked Dimitri

" I can do that." I said hugging and kissing him good morning. I zapped in the cloths he wanted and sat them on the bed and proceeded to get dressed myself. I slipped my robe off and put on my underwear and bra and then I grabbed my favorite jeans the ones that hugged my ass just right and made me feel like a million bucks, followed by a black supernatural tshirt and black socks. I knocked on the door and told Dimitir I was headed downstairs and yelled "ok". Part of me wanted to wait until he was done just so I could see him wet, but I told myself no. I really needed to tell Willow everything and I mean everything. I peaked in on my Mom and she was still sounds asleep and so was my Dad. I made it to the kitchen just as Will walked into to and she looked at me like I had four heads.

" What is going on. I don't see or hear from you in days, then I see your picture in the paper that you won some award or something. Then I get a message from you in a group chat saying the party is canceled, then i get here and i find a man in your bed what the hell girl. Do you care to fill me in?" Asked Will

" Ok Im sorry a lot has been going on. Yes I will explain everything but can I please make my coffee first. I was just finishing up the final touches of my coffee when Dimitri walked in, and let me tell you that simple look he went for today had my mouth watering and my body burning. He walked up behind me and put his arms around my neck and kissed my cheek.

" Thanks for the cloths babe, Ooh is that coffee?" asked Dimitri

" Yes it is would you like some?" I asked kissing his cheek

" Yes please." said Dimirti

" Will would you like a cup to?' I asked

" What the hell Scarlett is going on. And duh!" yelled Will

" Willow this is Dimitri Petrova the future Lycan King. Dimitri this is my best friends Willow." I said

" Nice to meet you." they both said in unison

I finished everyone's coffee walked to the closet, and grabbed two blankets and walked to the back yard that way we could talk and not wake anyone up. There were two lounge chairs Will sat in one and Dimitri the other and then i sat inbetween his legs and covered up with the blanket, it wasn't cold but there was a chill in the air. I took a couple sips of my coffee, and started explaining everything that had happened since the last time we had talked. But the time I was done explaining and stopped talking i expected her to launch into even more questions but she didn't. All she had to say was " Damn girl you have been busy and thats great about your Dad. And you are a lucky b***h still a virgin and get the hottest mate alive and not to meniton he's a prince. I want one." I could see the sadness peak through she was afraid her mate wouldn't want her since she didn't have a wolf. I was so grateful that my best friend knew everything well almost everything. Dimitri went to go make more coffee and to call his Mom to make sure she was alright. He didn't talk to her much last night after her confession, we didn't know if she stayed here or if she went back to her room.

" Will I need some advice." I said " Ok whats going on other that your life rocks." Said Will

" Yea it kinda does, but thats not what i need help with. Dimitri wants to get married after we save his father and I want that to but what about school. Im torn I wanted to graduate with my friends now that I actually have them." I said

" Girl graduate early and be with that fine ass man of yours and take me with you." Said Will

" I was planning to bring you along Im gonna need someone on myside at the palace other that D of course." I said

" Good cause this modeling thing is just not working out, Ive come to the conclusion that men are pigs and just because I look like this a dress a certain way means. I get treated like some s*x object that they can do anything with. Girl its not just men either the women are just as bad. I used to be comfortable doing my thing, but now im not." Said Will

" What are you going to do now?" I asked

" Well I talked to all my teachers and the princeable and they told me if I can pass all my finals this week they will let me graduate early. While you do your thing Im planning to go home for a while. I miss my parents and maybe life in the pack means I might find my mate to. So if I work my ass off we can graduate together and then you won't be alone." Said Willow

" I'll help make sure you pass, But your right I do need to do something for me. Im gonna graduate early and start planning my life with my man." I said

Dimitri came back with more coffee and creamer, and we all just sat and talked about everything. Will told embarrassing stories about me and then he told us about all the things him and his best friend did growing up. I really thought that Willow and I were back but nope. D and his best friend were the definition of a hellion. I started to feel bad for his mother, and then my mind started to drift off into my own imagination of what it would be like to have a family of my own.
