PROLOGUE
Unknown Pov
The moonlit forest blurred around her as she ran, her paws pounding the earth in a frantic rhythm. Branches scratched at her fur, and roots snagged her wounded leg, sending jolts of pain through her body. She whimpered, but didn't dare slow down knowing what would happen if they caught her.
The distant howls and snarls grew louder, and she knew she couldn't outrun them for much longer.
As she glanced back, her paw caught on a hidden root, and she tumbled forward with a startled yelp. The world spun around her as she rolled down the hillside, her fur tangled in thorns and leaves.
Finally, she crashed into the base of a tree, the impact knocking the breath from her lungs. She lay there, panting, a whimper escaping her lips as she struggled to catch her breath.
The sound of her pursuers grew closer, and she knew she had to get up, to keep moving. But for now, she just lay there, trembling with fear and pain, her heart racing like a drum in her chest.
But just as she managed to push herself up pack closed in, their eyes glowing like lanterns in the dark. Blood dripped from the muzzles of some, and their growls rumbled like thunder as the stalked out the forest.
She pressed her back against the tree, her heart racing with fear. She whimpered, her paws trembling as she tried to push herself further into the trunk.
The wolves' growls grew louder, their circle tightening. eyes darted between them, searching for an escape route, but there was none. She was trapped, surrounded by predators who seemed to be savoring her fear and helplessness.
Suddenly, one of the wolves took a step closer, its jaws open wide, revealing sharp teeth. Deciding she'd died fighting she stood tall and bared her fangs in defiance but before either could do anything a vicious snarl tore through the clearing.
Her pursuers whimpered as their ears went flat in fear as they whimpered and soon the source of the snarl made itself know as soon a loon figure stalked out the forest. It was massive compared to wolves standard's with long black fur with grey undertones, massive paws that where as large as a rabbit.
Anya has always found his freakishly large wolf form intimidating but it wasn't his size or strength that made her trembl it was those eyes those cold chilling red eyes that held a chilling lethality those where the eyes of a killer, of a man who had earned his title through blood.
Those where the eyes of the blood alpha and now he had finally caught her. He stalked towards her slowly as the members of his pack held down their heads in submission as he walked past his dominant alpha aura rolling off him in waves.
Soon he stopped Infront of Anya and looked at her for a long moment."Turn back" came his simple command spoken so casually but it carried so much authority that her wolf couldn't resist giving in.
Soon her fur recced and her bones and muscles popped as she shifted back her body unconsciously following his simple command. Soon she stood their naked and heavily pregnant. Seeing his gaze on her she covered her body with her hands.
Looking into the distance she could still see the smoke from the attack earlier. Tears pricked at her eyes as her soft hazels one's finally meet those two cold lifeless red ones. " Was it worth it Kayden all this pain and destruction you caused was it worth it".
The wolf Kayden snorted unbothered by the question. Hearing this Anya dropped her arms that she had used to cover her body no longer caring about anyone's gaze upon her bare form.
" Why Kayden why did you do this we where your family, we trusted you and this is how you repay us, you plot against your own alpha and murder him so you could what claim the title of alpha! how could you he was your own brother!" she asked as she finally allowed her tears to fall freely.
Kayden stood their unmoving as he watched his former best friend and first love weep and just for a moment Anya thought she could have sworn she saw moisture in those eyes but she was wrong it was only a reflection of the moons light.
"What happened to you this isn't the boy I grew up with" she sobbed taking a small step forward. Kaiden turned his back on her " You want to know what happened to me Anya I choose to stop being weak the day you chose him over me" he stopped and looked back at her broken form one last time.
"After all as that bastard said the strong lead and the weak bleed and you and him where weak" with a nod to his pack he turned his back on her sealing her fate. The pack advanced on the former Luna with menacing snarls as they readied themselves to carry out their alpha's order.
As she saw the wolves approaching she closed her eyes as a single tear rolled down her cheek. Just then they charged at her fangs bared and snarling. " I'll see you soon my love" she whispered just as they reached her.
He could hear her blood curdling scream and soon the smell of blood that filled the clearing but despite that he didn't turn back once as he walked into the forest disappearing into the trees.
