Aubrey slid into the booth at the ice cream parlor after she got Evie and Lizzie situated with their ice cream. The last few days had been interesting, to say the least, but she was glad for some normalcy. Although, things weren’t completely back to normal. For starters, having the girls for the evening was outside of the normal schedule. Cassius had informed Aubrey that he was taking a week’s vacation to California. So, she had to rearrange her whole schedule at the last minute to make sure Lizzie and Evie were taken care of.
“How’s your ice cream, girls?’ Aubrey asked, digging into her chocolate twist on a cone.
