Chapter - 56

“Are you going to tell me or not?” David with fiery eyes asked Sussan.

“No, I am not going to tell you anything. You can just get lost,” Sussan bravely answered him and looked at him with fearless eyes.

“Then you die!” David screamed and rushed towards him with his raised weapon.

Just before his weapon could land on her, Brenda flew towards him and tried to kick him on his stomach. But before her legs could land on his body, he held her and pushed her away.

To save Brenda from getting hurt, Sussan used her magic and stopped her from being thrown to the ground. As Sussan was busy saving Brenda, David wanted to use this as his opportunity to attack her.

But then Cathy lifted her hand stick once again and tried to hit David’s hands. But it missed and David held the stick now. He broke it with his thigh and threw it away in the air.

The stick landed with a thud and made a huge hole on the ground. Cathy was still not ready to accept her defeat and tried to wrestle with David. But David was too powerful for her and in kick she was sent flying away as well.

“Cathy!” Sussan shouted and ran after her while Brenda too screamed, “Mom”.

They both tried to save Cathy but David was faster than them and he held onto Sussan’s and Brenda’s hands.

Cathy somehow managed to jump up a little and prevented herself from getting hurt. She landed on both her hands and legs and steadied herself. 

“Do not worry about me. I am fine! Take care of that traitor! He is not one of us. I wanted to warn you earlier after finding the truth. But now the proof right in front of us,” Cathay shouted from far and informed them.

David laughed like a maniac and said, “At least someone had a brain here. I have been thinking how these fools had survived for so long without getting killed for some time now.”

His mocking tone irritated Brenda and so she asked him, “Who are you calling fools? You are the greatest fool. Let go of us if you do not want to get buried here.”

“Me, getting buried? Just take care of yourself first. Did you even realize the situation you are in? Right now you are under my spell… You both can’t move a muscle. Why don’t you check it out?” David asked them sarcastically.

Brenda tried to move but then she noticed that her legs got stuck to the ground and she was almost in a paralyzed state. Sussan glared at David and asked him,

“Who are you? What do you want from us?”

“Are you deaf? I have been asking you to give me whatever the Ashes Lord gave you earlier. Isn’t that what I have been shouting at the top of my lungs for a long time now?” He asked her.

“I did not get anything from him and neither was I able to meet him. The minute I entered his cave, I fainted,” Sussan lied to him and tried to hide her flustering feeling.

David looked at her as a fool and asked her, “Are you kidding me? Do you think if you lie to me, I would not find out? I have been with you for so many years and I know you bite your lips when you lie. So, now, instead of testing my patience why don’t you tell me the truth and I will only kill you alone?”

“No! Don’t tell him or give him anything Sussan! He must be a spy sent by the militant,” Brenda said to Sussan and then hissed at him.

“Spy sent by Militants? That’s why I called you fools earlier. I am no spy… I am sent by the greatest witch of this whole universe, Bairania. I am her disciple and also the right-hand person. Do you want to see my real form?” David asked them and ran his hand along his face,

His appearance totally got changed and his skin looked wrinkled and very old. He was very scary to look at and his face showed no mercy at them at all.

When Sussan noticed the changes in David’s body, she immediately understood who he was! She signaled Cathy to indicate that she should take their clam members and run from there.

But Cathy could not understand her signal and tried to come close to them to help her daughter, Brenda, and Sussan.

“No! Everyone, start to run from here. Do not come closer to him. He does not have a good sight,” Sussan shouted. 

She then came out of the bind easily and took out a little bit of ‘Birneoseis’ powder from her infinite pouch to paralyze him. After she murmured a few magical words, she threw that powder at him.

But before that magical powder could even touch him, he shifted and moved like the wind in no time. He then stood behind Sussan and held the magical knife on her throat.

“I will kill you today and eliminate the threat once and for all,” David sniggered at her.

“Don’t you dare!” Brenda screamed and opened a portal using her inner power behind David.

She then nodded her head and signaled Sussan to push him inside the portal. Sussan held the knife on her neck with her hands and then elbowed him with all her strength.

The knife cut her already injured palm and it started to burn a lot. But without showing any concern for her pain. She then stamped both his feet as he did not budge even an inch.

“You have some guts to try and hurt me! Now see, what I am going to do to you,” David asked her and pulled the knife very close to her neck. 

“No! No! Come on, Sussan you can do it! Just kick him a little behind!” Brenda shouted while trying to get her out of the bind.

Sussan struggled to keep the knife away from her neck. Slowly, she could feel that her fingers were almost getting pierced and her finger bone one by one started to break.

Sussan closed her eyes and tried to concentrate on the pain in her hands. The blood dripped one drop after another and landed on the ground. 

She then without worrying about the piercing pain in her palm, pulled the knife from the old man’s hands. She swirled around in one motion and lifted her legs high in the air. 

Then she kicked his stomach with all her might and sent him flying into the portal. When he was pushed into the portal, he held Sussan’s hands tightly and did not let go. He even tried to pull her with him inside the portal.

“If I am going to die then I will take you along with me. Did you forget that we made a blood oath with each other? Your life is mine!” He roared and almost pulled her inside the portal. 

Sussan started to float in the air and one of her hands almost went into the portal.

Cathy came running towards them and took the magical knife that laid on the ground. She then aimed at the old man and threw the knife at him. It went straight for his chest, and so to avoid it he let go of Sussan’s hand.

Sussan just fell because of the force and hit the rock next to her. Cathy rushed towards her and held Sussan in her hands. She then asked her, “You ok, dear?” 

She stared at the portal that was almost closed now and gulped. She could not process, what had just happened? “If David is not David then where is the original David?” She wondered.

Whatever happened today had made Sussan think what she should actually believe and what she should not? He was a loving and caring person to her for so many years. But then suddenly he changed into a wrinkly old man and broke everything that she believed in.

“What will I do now?” Sussan mumbled and stared at the space.

By then Brenda got out of the bind and ran near her. She hugged Sussan and said, “It’s ok! Everything is fine now! We will find out who that is and we will get him punished.”

Sussan came out of her trance and blinked her eyes. Then she said, “Yes, everything is going to be fine.”
