Rowan was examined at the hospital by a youngish doctor who reminded her of some of the favourite ones she used to work with; the ones who had been practicing long enough to be competent but were still fresh enough to have not been jaded by the constant barrage of human suffering they saw every day. It turned out that she had cracked ribs, soft tissue damage to her wrists, and her face was bruised and cut. They disinfected and dressed all her wounds; there should be no lasting damage and it would all heal in time. That didn’t mean that they didn’t hurt though!
