My mind was generating a constant buzzing sound, making me feel dizzy with the information that Marcus gave us. I couldn’t deny that I felt betrayed and heartbroken when Marcus announced his relationship with Emma. How could he do this to me?
I am his brother. He… he could tell me, at least, when he found out that Emma was his mate. But when he explained why he couldn’t acknowledge her as his mate, I understood. That was a shock, but if I were in his shoes, I would have done the same thing to keep my mate safe from all the dangers.
I was heartbroken for my brother when he told me how he lost his first mate. I always felt that he had some kind of romantic connection with this girl…. Avery Hudson…. But living with this guilt that you are the reason that your mate is dead……
