15. Horrible smell.

"Come in." Alpha Asher spoke without lifting his head. Still looking at the documents in his hands.
The door was open to reveal his mother the Current luna. She walked till she was standing in front of his desk.
"You know why I am here, right?" she asked as she pulled the chair and sat down.
Asher lifted up his head to meet his mother gaze.
As usual, the luna wore a sun dress. She loved them a lot. The flowers printed on it made it prettier.
Her loose ponytail made her looke more relaxed.
Asher wondered if she is really his mother? anyone else that doesn't know them would assume her being his big sister rather than his mother.
"I know, mum." Asher sounded tired.
"That good!" The luna said happily. "I thought that you might forget because I didn't come thst day!" The Luna laughted elegantly.
"Things came up and I had to arrange some things. But now everything is fun." The luna finished with a blinding smile.
“Now let's talk about the party!" The luna features changed. A look of exciting and hope decorated her pretty face.
Color left Asher's face for a moment, then he coughed.
'Oh, that's can't be. I must be overthinking. There is no way that they would do that. That's will be unprofessional from them.’ Asher thought to himself. He grabbed his hands together and looked at his mother directly in her eyes.
"Please, tell me that I am wrong. You wouldn't turn this party to a dat" Panic showed in his voice.
"I am!" The luna intruped her son. Her voice filled with joy.
"I already managed everything. No need to worry." She followed. "AIl you need to do is just meet with them!" The Luna stated.
"Ahhhhh." Asher groaned. He rested his head on the desk.
The Luna giggled then dismissed it like nothing had happened.
The luna continued. "As you know we decided to open the pack for all. Of course, only for the ones will come to your sister's party !" she explained.
The Luna's eyes soften as she kept staring at her son, "Your father and I thought that it will the best chance to achieve our plan."
"What plan? Asher questioed. He tilted his head a little.
The luna looked at him confused as well. She opened her mouth and said "Choosing your chosen mate, of course!" she amused. "You didn't forget, right?" she followed.
Asher shock his head. He really didn't forget. But the plan? He was confused.
"No. But what did you two plan to do? didn't you just chose someone already for me? So what is the plan?" Asher didn't try to hide his emotions at all. After all, who would hide his own emotions when they talk with their mothers about their own future.
The luna did understand what is wrong, still she didn't say anything and continued.
"We know that it will be hard and awkward for you if we asked you to meet them separately." The Luna explained as she continued to smile.
"What do you think of me?" Asher began but then he stopped.
His eyes wided as well as his face became paler.
"... Them?" The word came from Asher mouth with difficulty.
Then he remembered that she said that before, but he didn't pay ention for it.
The Luna noded at him still smiling.
"Should I be concerned?" he questioned.
"No, dear. We already planned everything." The Luna waved her hand.
He caught then said, "and. What do you plan then?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing." Said the luna while waving her hand. "Just look at them. See if there is someone you like. You can talk to them a little maybe dance. Just small things." She informed.
Asher felt confused. "Just that?" he asked.
"Yes!" the luna replied briefly.
The Luna rolled her eyes to the side as she though for a moment then followed. "don't worry about the talks! Nothing will happen soon. You wilI just see who you like and we will talk about it later. No one will notice what we planned. It will look normal. You need a luna. You see someone that you liked. We ask her. She agreed, then became your luna!" she took a deep breath.
"See? Nothing subspinous at all!" she told.
The whole thing is suspicious. Asher thought to himself.
Asher though for a moment then he leaned back in his seat.
"Ok. But I have my conditions."
"Say it!" the luna cheered.
"If I found someone." He paused for a moment before continuing, "I will not tell anyone."
Confusing painted all the Luna's face. "What do you mean?" Her voice seemed more like a whisper.
"I would like to work on it by myself." Asher replied. He lowered his head. somehow, his fingers became interesting.
His fingers no longer interesting as he lifted his head up and faced his mother gaze once more.
"I would like to have a chance." He followed.
"A chance?" The Luna was taken a back.
"Yes, you and dad decided this whole thing for me." Asher spreaded his arms.
"I don't have a say on it. So at least, let me have a chance." Asher sad tone ringed in the Luna's ears.
"All I want is if I found someone I like, I want to try to approach her on my own."
As Asher's words fell on the Luna's ears. She stood up and went to her son. Kissing him on the check and hugged him tightly.
"Ok, mum. I know that I am miserable but can you stop now!" he said.
The Luna pulled out of him. Her fingers found their way to his cheek. Then her fingers covered all of them.
"You're too good, my pup. You deserve to be happy." Tears shimmered in the Luna's eyes. Yet, she smiled.
Asher returned his mother smile.
"Mum, I am not a little pup anymore. Not because you are good that doesn't mean you will be happy." Asher corrected her in a steady voice.
The Luna frown.
It's really hard to deal with your kids when they grow up.

The daylight started to fade. Darkness taking over everything.
People went to their houses. One by one.
The noise faded as well.
Yet, Asher remained in his office.
He didn't find a reason to go home.
He bought as much time as he can to keep himself busy.
Yet, it wasn't enough.
The pain in his heart didn't seem to fade.
Asher put down the document in his hand. Then he stood up and walked to the window.
He sighed as he leaned on the window's fram.
Observing the outsides seemed to ease his pain.
He didn't Know why. At first he thought it was because his pack. Watching them happy must made him happy as well.
But he was wrong.
Even the people that don't belong to the pack seemed to ease him as well.
Something in observing the people no matter who they were made him relax.
Asher lowered his face.
Would he be always alone? Always lonely?
'Alpha, we need you. Something awful had happened.’ A panic yet composed voice echoed in Asher mind.
Asher blinked.
It's rare from the patrol to mind link him.
‘What did happen?' Asher asked as he went to his desk.
‘I don't know what to say, Alpha.’ The voice from the other side replied. Panic and fear laced in his voice.
Asher didn't ask more. His gut told him not to.
‘Alright. I will be there in there in a minute.’ Asher rolled down his sleeves and wore on his black jacket.
Asher didn't shift. He didn't need that after all his destination wasn't far away. Plus, he has his superhuman speed.
Asher stopped as he reached his goal. Just as he promised, he went there in less than a minute.
"What's is the problem?" Asher authoritative voice made all the wofls present there bow in submissive.
"That's the problem." The patrol guy who mind linked Asher moved forward towards Asher as well as pointing to a far spot.
Asher moved his eyes so he can observe it. If he was anyone else, he wouldn't be able to see it clearly. It was far and it was dark. But thanks again to his heightened senses, Asher saw it.
Disgusting.
That was all hunted Asher mind. Who could do something awful like that?
"No one moves till I give the order." Asher's features because serious. He is now on his Alpha mood.
Asher walked wary to that spot. The more he gets there the more disgusting he felt.
Finally, he reached it.
The heightened senses that Asher was proud of, he regretted having them right now.
The smell.
That horrible smell.
Asher crunched his nose. It must be days old. Who can do something horrible like that and for what?
Asher looked at the pieces in front of him.
Yes, pieces.
It took him a while to realize that the pieces belonged to two bodies.
Two bodies.
Asher frozed.
'Marcus and Luca, come here right now!' Asher yelled through the mind link.
