"Man, why did you listen to him!" Roan said annoyed. As he leaned back in the car's seat. "I am an alpha. My feelings don't matter. What does matter is the pack's welfare." Asher's voice held no emotions. It seemed a robot. Asher turned his head so he can look at his friend. His eyes half closed. "I know that!" Roan gritted his teeth. As well as him knitting his brows. "But, man after all he did?" he questioned. His voice laced with disbelief. "Like he said. The past is a past." Asher spoke. still showing no emotion. "If he really ready to Work together. If that is going to benefit my pack. I have no problem acting like nothing had happened." Asher turned his head to the right. He opened the car's window and stared at the outside view. If it was another time, Roan would make fun of his friend. But right now he knew that he needed it. "Man, that's awful !" Roan spoke after being silent for a few moments. "I know." Asher sighed, showing a little tiredness in his low voice. "But do we do? Causing our people harm because of past actions?" Asher questioned. In contrast to his tone. Even so his words showed choice, his tone said something else. "So, we will act like nothing happened?" Roan screwed up his face. His lips drew back in a snarl. "From this moment on, We will be good partners." Asher informed. "Unless, they did something stupid," Asher chuckled. He lowered his head and put his hand on it. "But, I don't think they will do it. After all, they have everything right now. They won." The more Asher spoke, the more his voice getting lower and lower, and the more sadness snd hopeless it showed. Roan sighed deeply, it was clearly he didn't like it. The cooperation with the king family was something disgusting him. Seeing his Alpha and best friend like that made his heart hurt. Roan's lower lip quivered. His jaw tightened more. And if he didn't stop gritting his teeth, he will lose them. Still, he couldn't stop. But as his alpha said their offer was good. So good. And if they kept avoiding them, the Graces would be blamed. Not the Kings. They need to show that they are professional and put the need of their pack first. Just as they supposed to do. Asher on the other hand, turn his head to the window. He looked outside. It always calmed him down. A handsome young man with a perfect muscular body appeared on his mind. They are so alike and different at the same time. They shared the same age, hight and body shape. The same hair length and the same silkness. However, they had different hair styles. Their features are almost the same. If it wasn't for their different colours. People could mistake them for a twins. Asher chuckled. The eyes that resembled the grass, against the ones that resembled the ocean. The hair that matched the darkness of the night against the hair that resembled the bright sun. The skin that he inherited from his Mediterranean ancestors, against The skin that showed no color. Asher shivered. He hated that man. And no matter what, he will never like him or his family. Damien and me work together. Asher thought to himself. Is it the end of the world? he grinned. ***** "Mr. king. Our guests have left." The young assistant informed. Her voice showing no emotions at all. She stood on her spot waiting for her Alpha's orders. Alpha Damien shifts his look from the window to meet his assistant. "Is everything ok? Did anything happen?" Damien tried to hide his concern. Yet, a little worrying appeared in his voice. If the other person was a human or another race that's doesn't have heightened senses, they won't be able to sense that little change. "No, everything was fine. Till the moment they left, nothing else has happened." The assistant informed smiling. Her eyes soften a little bit when she heard her Alpha's voice. Damien looked at her and his mouth corners lifted up, "that's good news! We don't want to cause them any more problems." his smile is blinding. The assistant looked at him hesitated. It looks like she wanted to say Something but was wavering to do so. Damien noticed that, after all what the use of his senses, if he couldn't smell her right now and sense her unsettling. so he decides to fix it. "What do you want to ask?" Damien lifted up his brow as well as the corners of his mouth. She smiled nervously at him and opened her mouth, "if.. if that's was ok. Can I ask why Alpha Grace doesn't like you?" the more she talked, the more her voice became lower. But that's wasn't a problem to Damein. "Ahhh," Damien groaned. Along with running a hand over his face. The assistant's face paled. She asked something she shouldn't have asked. Her heart beaten faster as well as her eyes went round. What if he punished her? Worse, what if he fired her? "I apology. I didn't," with all that thoughts, she tried to ease the situation. If she apologised, he may let her go without any punishment. Alpha Damien raised his hand to stop her from talking. Then he pursed his lips. "When I was younger, I used to fight with him a lot. All the time." Damien then chuckled. His chucking held sadness. "But what i can do?" Damien wondered. "For me it was normal, after all we both heirs to the strongest pack in our regen." He explained. It was naturally!" Damien then walked to his chair, he pulled it and sat down in his seat and looked her in the eyes. "But for him, he thought that I intentionally wanted to harm him." Damien's expression hardend. "specially, dince those accidents started to happen. I know that he is blaming me, thinking that I have a hand in it." Damien whispered. "I tried several time to fix our relationship. But he always finds a way to refuse." his voice became low at the end. He paused for a while before continuing again. "But this time I found something interesting enough to convince him to work with me! and I hope to use this chance to fix things between the two of us." He finished. Damien rested his elbows on the desk, still looking at her eyes. He given her his best charming smile. For a second, the assistant thought that she might lose her consciousness. "oh Mr. King! You must be happy right now!" she cheered, putting her hand over her mouth. After releazing how was that important to her boss. "Yes. Yes, I am." Damien admitted happily. As he tried to prevent his lips from curling up. But failed. "What about the intruder?" Damien’s face hardened. As well as his tone changed, he no longer smiling. "He almost cast a dessss! and so my offer with the Grace would may not be Successful. He was angry. "We already sent a word to the council. And they responded with that they will sent someone to interrogate him. He will take his punishment." The assistant said quickly. Yet, calmy and steady. "That good news!" Damon's eyes lit up. He then nods to his assistant. Which she took as her signal to leave. She excused herself. As she bowed to him then she walked to the office’s door. Holding the foor’s knot, she opened it and then closed the door after she exited. All done with a slow movement. As the door closed behind her, Alpha Damien grimace. His jaw tightened. They all are the same. His eyes found the window once again. The weather was perfect. It wasn't hot but warm. He could hear the birds. People were all on the roads. The parks looked even more beautiful right now. He looked down at himself, the suit seemed tight. That why he took of his jacket. And loosened his tie. leaning back in the chair, he ran a hand through his silky hair. Which messed his style. But he didn't care. His eyelids drooped. Covering his blue eyes. He took a deep breath. Followed by a tired and sad sigh left his mouth. His mind and heart started to relax. A faint figure appeared on his mind. Damien's lips curved in a smile.
