Chris pov
I walk quickly through the door to my office and close it behind me. I sigh in relief before I hear a chuckle behind me. I look back to see my dumbass friend -dave.
"You look you passed through the valley of death"he says while laughing.
"Well I actually did. That woman is such a pest. I couldn't pry her off me. She was pretending like she was an innocent lady before she started rubbing my chest and calling me daddy. It was so irritating." I replied.
Dave bursts into fits of laughter while I stare at him annoyed. It isn't his fault though. If I didn't need the business deal,I wouldn't have gone there.
I go to the window and stare out into the city. It is bubbling with life. People seem to be rushing to their different destination. I see a young boy with a kite running on the streets and his mother chasing him. She catches up to him and picks him up. She scolds him and afterwards pats him on his back. Tears spring to my eyes as I see this mother and son bond because I never experienced this.
My mom died during childbirth,so I have no idea of what it feels like to have a mom. I am not close to my dad either since he is always so busy with his business. I understand his plight though. It must be really hard losing your wife after just 2 years of marriage.
Chris! Chris! Chris! I am startled before I come back to reality and see Dave standing in front of me. He looked worried.
"What?" I ask him
"You seem to be in another world of your own" he replies.
I shake my head dismissively before he says "Okay,I was just telling you that you should be glad that Laura (the girl that was flirting with me) made a move on you. You should at least get a girlfriend."
"I don't need one",I say.
"Well, that is what you have always been saying. Who would ever believe that an handsome and successful man like you has never dated a girl in your 25 years of existence?
"You should know I love breaking record. Most girls out there are looking for an alpha male who would take charge of everything. I face a lot of stress in managing my business and I deserve some break in my personal life. I can't deal with all those petty female drama and tears."
Dave laughs and says"You are right. I face the same thing frequently with my wife but I love her to death."
"I know you do. Let's go downstairs and get something to eat. I'm starving", I say.
We both walk out the door and start the journey to the canteen.
