LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

One day, a ship was sailing in the ocean, carrying on board a group of the most famous sailors and adventurers in history. They were seeking to explore the world, in search of lost treasures and eternal glory. On that day, they witnessed a miracle they had never seen before. From the depths of the sea emerged a wondrous and magnificent island, appearing on the surface of the water as if it were a gift from the heavens, green and vibrant, brimming with life and beauty. The sailors could not believe what they saw and could not contain themselves at this breathtaking sight. When they returned to land, they told the people the amazing story, astonishing them with the wonderful description. Adventurers raced to be the first to discover the secret of the magical island, to achieve fame and fortune. They wanted to become heroes. But reaching the island was not possible. The island was surrounded by severe storms that prevented ships from reaching it. Because of these storms, many exploratory trips that set out from around the world failed to reach the island. Many explorers were lost in the attempt to reach the island, and none of them returned alive to tell what they saw or what befell them. Among the many who dreamed of reaching the mysterious island, there were four heroes who defied the dangers. Leading them stood Jack, who was striving hard to solve the mystery of the wondrous island and uncover its hidden secrets. Jack aspired to become a legend in the world of exploration, and despite being fully aware of the dangers of the island and the risks lurking there, he was always ready for adventure and challenge. He never backed down from his goal and faced every challenge with strength and determination. In a picturesque coastal village, Jack lived in a quiet neighborhood. On a sunny afternoon, he entered his small house. He was an independent young man, living alone in a modest home. He lay on his bed, thinking about the trip he had planned with his friends for months. They would set sail tomorrow on a fast and well-equipped ship. Excitement took hold of him, but it was not without some tension, for the journey would not be easy. He looked at the ceiling and thought, "Finally, our adventure will begin. I have waited for this day for a long time. Tomorrow, I will sail towards the island, that island I have always dreamed of seeing. I feel an indescribable thrill." Jack turned on his side, thinking, "All we know about the island is what the sailors who saw it from afar have told us. No one has told us what lies within it. But I am determined to reach it and discover its secrets." But doubts soon crept into his mind, "Many adventurers lost their lives before they even set foot on the island. What if I lose my life like them? Why do I think I am special?" He jumped out of bed, trying to banish the negative thoughts, thinking, "I should not think this way. I have prepared well for this trip, and I am not alone; my friends will be by my side. Yes, we are ready." Jack got up from his bed and went outside, grabbed his bicycle, and began to make his way through the village alleys, wandering around. He continued his way out of the village, where a long road surrounded by a dense forest stretched before him. He pedaled with all his might, trying to dispel the tension that gripped him, and felt the breeze caress his face and the fresh air fill his chest. He continued to run on the road for long distances until he began to feel exhausted, so he slowed down and gasped, catching his breath. He took in the beauty of the natural scenery around him, and whenever a car passed by, he exchanged greetings with the drivers with a wave of his hand, and in this peaceful atmosphere, Jack's tension dissipated. After a long distance, he emerged from the forest to find himself again in front of the vast sea, then reached a downhill road. His bicycle gained tremendous speed with the slope, increasing his enthusiasm and pushing his bicycle to go faster. The road was full of twists and turns, and Jack rushed with all the speed he had, feeling adrenaline coursing through his veins with every turn he overcame. But in the midst of his excitement, he did not notice one of the sharp turns, so he did not slow down in time, which forced him to lean heavily to his side, almost touching the ground. The handlebars shook in his hands, and he almost lost balance, but as soon as the sharp turn ended, the road became straight again, and he managed with difficulty to regain control of his bicycle. He stopped after miraculously surviving a fall, realizing how close he had been to a serious injury. Jack stopped his bike to the side and gazed at the vast sea before him. He whispered to himself with a tone mixed with regret and excitement, “I was reckless, I must avoid repeating that. But, I cannot deny how much fun I felt.” Then a slight smile formed on his lips, and he stayed there, immersed in watching the waves for a while, enjoying the tranquility that surrounded him. At the break of dawn the next day, Jack woke up early, excited for the big day. He carried his pre-packed bag and headed to the harbor where the adventure ship was docked. There, Alex, the seasoned captain and lifelong friend, who possesses extensive experience in the arts of the sea and navigation, was waiting for him. With his towering height and bulging muscles, Alex seemed as if he was born to be at sea, and although he was only twenty-eight years old, he possessed wisdom beyond his years. Jack stood beside his friend, exchanging conversation as they waited for the rest to arrive. It wasn’t long before Lena, the childhood friend and passionate researcher, known for her sharp intelligence and broad knowledge, joined them at the age of twenty-four. The picture was only complete with the arrival of Noor, the beautiful and smart girl who efficiently runs a fitness center and enjoys perfect physical fitness. The friends boarded the ship, specially prepared for adventurers and equipped with everything necessary for a successful exploratory trip. With the crew complete, Alex gave the signal to depart, and the ship began its journey, heading towards the mysterious island they had long dreamed of exploring. While sailing, Jack was moving around the ship. He headed to the deck, and during his walk, he caught a glimpse of Noor performing her exercises. He stopped to watch her for a moment, then smiled and said, “Hello, it seems you’re enjoying your time in this fun training session.” Noor replied warmly, “Hello, yes, I make sure to exercise because I don’t like sitting still for long periods.” Jack asked curiously, “Do you miss your gym?” Noor sighed with a tone of longing, “Certainly, I had many plans for its expansion and adding new equipment, but I changed all that when I decided to join this trip with you.” Jack commented kindly, “Are you sure that your decision to leave the gym was the right one? Your gym was thriving and received widespread popularity.” Noor was engulfed in a moment of reflection, and she silently asked herself, “Was my decision correct?” She muttered it as she looked towards the distant horizon. Then she reminisced, one day, she stood in her gleaming gym, which consisted of two floors and enjoyed a vast space. Noor, the skilled fitness trainer, had gained wide fame in this field, where she trained many people and received tempting offers to become a private trainer for the wealthy. Despite this dazzling success, she felt something was missing, perhaps due to the repetitive routine of the workouts, where all days were alike, spent in the same place. Noor was giving her usual advice to the trainees when she was surprised by Jack’s entrance into the gym. She knew him since school days and greeted him with a bright smile, asking enthusiastically, “What do you think about joining our club?” Jack replied kindly, “I’m just here to say hello, I was passing by.” Noor smiled and said, “Don’t you think about joining? It seems that some exercises might benefit you!” Jack answered jokingly, “I think I’m in good health as I am.” Noor smiled and added, “If you decide to join, I’ll make sure you get a special discount.” Jack expressed his gratitude and said, “I appreciate that, but I have other plans I’d like to do.” Her curiosity piqued, she asked him, “And what are the plans you’d like to do?” Jack revealed his plan to go on an exploratory trip to the island with his friend Alex, and that they were working on saving money to buy a ship, which features a powerful engine that gives it the ability to cut through the fierce waves steadily and quickly, even in the toughest maritime conditions. The ship shines with its practical design, which includes multiple decks, carrying all the necessary equipment and supplies. Noor listened enthusiastically, feeling excited by Jack’s talk. The conversation took a long time, and Jack did not notice the passage of time, but Noor did not mind, as she was enjoying the conversation, and felt that this moment might be the beginning of a new change in her life. In the present moment, while Noor was on board the ship, she reflected to herself, saying: “I don’t know if I made the right decision to leave the club and join this trip, but I am sure of one thing, that I will never regret making this decision. I have never felt as happy as I do now.” Hours of continuous sailing across the endless sea passed, where Lena sat next to the window overlooking the dark blue sea horizon, enjoying sipping her hot coffee and contemplating the unmatched beauty of the enchanting view. Meanwhile, she heard steady footsteps approaching her, so she looked back to find Noor approaching with joy on her face. Lena asked her, “Where are you headed?” With a wide smile, Noor answered, “I’m heading to Alex in the command center!” Lena replied, “I’ll come with you too.” Lena set off through the corridors of the ship until she reached the stairs, where she climbed and found herself in the command center located on the upper deck of the ship. There, she found Alex, the ship’s captain, focused in his seat, staring at the multiple screens displaying complex navigational maps and data. At the same time, Lena did not miss the sight of Jack, who was standing on the deck of the ship, enjoying the open air and watching the horizon. Noor asked, “Alex, how much longer until we reach the island?” Alex, scrutinizing the radar, replied, “We are very close; the island should appear on the horizon at any moment now. Prepare for a sight you will never forget.” Suddenly, the features of the island emerged on the horizon, like a green oasis amidst the enchanting blue of the ocean. With every meter they approached, its splendor and beauty increased in their eyes. The island was formed of dense forests, soft sandy beaches, and rocks of various shapes. In its heart, towering mountains rose, covered with lush trees and verdant plants, pulsating with life and overflowing with natural beauty. As they were mere meters from reaching the island, an unexpected incident occurred. A tremendous sound, akin to a great explosion, boomed. Everyone looked up to the sky to witness a massive black cloud rising from the depths of the island, instilling terror in their hearts and casting shadows of concern about what could happen. The cloud stretched and thickened, obscuring the sun’s rays above the island. Before they could grasp the situation, the ship shook violently. They turned towards the sea to find a fierce wave forming at an astonishing speed, heading towards them like a watery wall threatening to swallow everything in its path. Their screams united in a desperate attempt to escape this imminent danger. Their journey, filled with hope, turned into a terrifying nightmare in the blink of an eye. The atmosphere changed completely; the sky became overcast with clouds, the sea raged, and the waves clashed violently.
