The Great Escape

until it’s closer to time for our first change.” So I patiently waited. For the next three years I suffered being submerged in water. Being cut by blades until I stopped showing any effects. From this then pieces of my skin was peeled off this had a lasting effect on me, then a silver knife was stabbed into me. It started at my legs to my arms then from there to my stomach and if father was there he’d stab my ruibbs. There was many occasions I had to be nursed back to health only to be tortured back to the brink of breath and on the day of my sixteenth birthday I felt different. 

I remember smelling the most intoxicating thing whatever it was smelt like chocolate and strawberries. “Now that smells divine” Rose perked up scratching to the surface which was making me on edge even more than I already was. “Oh shut up Rose we’re supposed to be focusing on escaping not food” I hear Rose whimper “mate” and I immediately tense. No....it’s not bloody possible your losing it Rose we’re smelling food not someone’s scent. I laid on my bed pretending to be asleep forcing myself to focus while waiting for the guard to enter my cell. 

As he enters I lung from my bed at him knocking him out by slamming his head against the stone wall. I searched the man for keys to my shackle shockingly unlock the shackle and race out the dungeon out the pack out refusing to stop. As I turn from my cell I race up the stone stares to the dungeon door I push the thick metal door open only to hesitate from the smell of chocolate and strawberries to hit me even harder. Rose whimpers “mate” again out of desperation I yell at Rose to shut up. I struggled to think straight with such a divine smell then adding a voice instead your head.....yep that’d throw anyone off, right? Or is that just me? 

Goddess I hope it’s not just me.  The guard yelling “She’s free!” Jolts me from my thoughts as another surge of fear mixed with adrenaline rushes through my veins. I run as hard as I possibly can bursting out the pack doors into the forest that surrounds the pack house. I feel the wind blowing against my body, and the ground beneath my bare feet. If I wasn’t running for my life this could be the most exhilarating thing. “One day Leigh your dreams shall become reality” 

a single tear slide down my face “thank you Rose for giving me hope” I could feel the warmth of her genuine love spread throughout my mind and heart swell with joy. I refocused on my surroundings jumping over fallen trees to dodging guards as they leap in attempt to tackle me. I could smell fresh water but before I get the chance to take another step one of the guards make contact knocking me to the ground sliding to the edge of a cliff with a water fall. “OH HELL NO LEIGH!!” “No choice” 

in one fluent motion I quickly stand as I do I brace my right foot a friction over the edge of the cliff then jump. “LEIGH YOU PSYCHOTIC b***h!!” I didn’t get the chance to laugh let alone respond I slam into the bottom of the water fall hitting my head. I rouse to coughing up water I turn to my side to cough up more water. “Oh thank the Moon Goddess your alive” I turn to the raspy voice glaring at the man I know is a guard. “Leigh none of us has ever wanted to harm you hell your our future Luna but we can’t disobey our alpha either” 

I stand up “I’ll show you disobedience” furious my own people turned their backs to me for so many years. “Leigh please don’t fight us” I snarl at him and others as they appear. “Leigh we are surrounded we must surrender” “Seriously Rose we are literally so close to the village?” 

“Are you so willingly as to harm our pack even if it means our freedom?” “Damnit Rose why of all the times do you have to be right now?” “Sorry not sorry Leigh” I sigh in defeat raising my wrist wast level bowing my head. Y’all win was all I could say just above a whisper for the others to hear. I watch the sun as it descends retiring for the night inching closer to the border of the forest closer to him. I close off Rose angry to even speak to her wincing with the slightest touch from the silver against my raw wrist.

 I can feel liquid stick to my feel causing stones to protest every so often. There was a couple of times I slipped causing me to fall on my knees. The sharp stones gave way to cuts and gashes on my knees and feet. With another step past I started losing my temper with the guard hauling me like cattle to the slaughter. “Ironic wouldn’t you say Leigh?” “Only you would think that Rose.” “It’s almost time Leigh... I need you to trust me, ok?”

    Alex removed his hand to whip the tears from his cheeks. So you wish to search for your mate before it’s too late? I shack my head yes wishing I could speak cause lord knows my response would be “well no s**t Sherlock would you like a award with that?” I know I know I can be too much sometimes but honestly folks walk themselves into it. Alex looked as though he was in deep thought. “Wait is he actually considering allowing me to live?” 

Alex brakes from his thoughts locking eye contact with me. This is against everything the conceal stands for.... but so is a wolf whom still has their humanity so as long as you keep that intact I can... well let us say you some how slipped past. I jumped with excitement truly noticing all of Alex for the first time. How his shirt seems tight around his chest fits just right around his stomach but the sleeves look like they are about to bust from the amount of muscles it’s hugging then you can’t really tell much with pants covering his legs. “Don’t act so disappointed it’s not like he’s ours Leigh.” “Your a real buzz kill Rose” “A girl can dream all I want”

“Only if it’s with our mate Leigh” “holy s**t Rose actually growled at me what the f**k is up with her?” I take a step near Alex with a question I need to ask. He notices and places his hand on top of my head. “So I seriously hope I don’t sound dumb or anything but could you tell me where the hell we are exactly?” Alex’s  hearty laugh fills the cave he shakes his head side to side. “You don’t sound dumb Leigh and we are in Oregon country” 

“your pack is in Mississippi territory” “Thank you Alex” Alex gave dashing smile “Thank me by finding your mate” my lips curl up as I revealed my sharp teeth in a smile. Alex tells his men to let me go and for them to say she slipped away. All of his men backed up their alpha of course wholeheartedly trusting him. 

“I sure hope our mate is amazing like Alex” Rose growls in frustration “our mate will be better than Alex” “ok b***h tone done I was just saying not in comparison, ok?” “Fine I’ll let that one go Leigh” “I’d hope so because we’re on a clock before you lose me for good” “then let us pick up the pace Leigh” 

with that I race all over Oregon country sniffing for his intoxicating scent. From there I search each territory for the next several weeks. Several occasions I’m having to stop battling to keep in control with Rose. Whenever I finally get control she apologizes. I mean there’s really no need since we both know it’s not by choice this is happening well not fully. By the time I finish searching all of the Louisiana purchase territory I am barely able to keep in control. Sticking to the forest to keep from harming humans on my travels my hope slips away with every passing day.

“We can’t give up Leigh” “Ha says you you’ll be in control and I’ll just simply die out you literally have nothing to worry about Rose” my words rang through my head bitterly walking further into the forest of Tennessee exhausted physically and mentally from my internal battle I accepted that I am losing. I huff in frustration as defeat seeps in further. “So your just going to give up and for what because you think that’ll solve everything?” “Yep” “Damnit Leigh! I’ll lose you and your apart of me your not invisible to me!”

I cry as I whimper from Rose’s heartfelt out burst “that’s all I’ve ever wanted thank you Rose” “then stand up and keep hunting for our mate Leigh” I nod my head yes. Out of no where that divine scent slams my senses my head shoot up as my ears perk up as well. Both of us scream with joy in unison “MATE” I launch forward following the intoxicating scent reaching the border of Tennessee and Mississippi when the wind changes directions. I howl in misery losing my mates scent.

“We will search all of this land if we must” rustling caught my attention further in Mississippi’s land multiple wolves step out of the forest stepping towards me. I take a defensive stance lowering my head growling which causes several wolves to stop in their tracks. Only one wolf dared stalking my way. I release a threatening warning causing the wolf before me to hesitate. The wolf lowered its large body shivering and groaning as muscles bones and joints rearrange themselves forming a man. My mouth hangs opened dumbfounded to see him.

    The man raises from the ground to stand tall. It takes everything in me to not cackle. “And he’s proud of showing that little thing off” “Leigh totally not the time granted I do agree with you” I am alpha Nick and you are trespassing on my land. “Oh no that mother fucker just didn’t” furious that Nick claimed our rightful place all humor had washed away immediately. I huff standing tall showing off my dominance refusing to back down to such a poor excuse of an alpha in front of me.

Turn around and leave and I’ll let you live rouge. “Now that’s cute don’t you think so Rose” “how’s about we answer the little alpha Leigh” “Yes let’s” I raise my head to the sky and release a thunderous howl shaking the trees surrounding us. I level my head to see everyone’s effects from my show of power to see all the following wolves laying on the ground with their paws covering their face whimpering. Pride swells in my chest then I look at Nick to see him struggling to stand.

 “Now that’s a true alpha’s power b***h” I hear Rose laughing at my comment but also agreeing at the same time. Nick finally composes himself after five minutes I just yawn out of boredom and start walking onto the so called claimed territory to find my mate only to be blocked by Nick breathing heavily. “This again? Dude take a hint” “You’d think right Leigh” I growl in frustration beyond ready to be United at last with my mate. Just because you have power doesn’t mean I’ll allow you to pass so I’ll say this one last time turn around now and I’ll let you live.

Pissed at this point I am ready to rip this fuckers jugular out. I narrowed my eyes at him waiting for him to make the next move. Not long more wolves emerge from the forest I couldn’t hold back a cackle this time. “This b***h got balls but apparently they shrunk that weenie a couple sizes too small bringing out the warriors.” You laugh and for what reason? My men are the best of the best throughout all of the thirteen southern state. “Oh am I supposed to be scared dumbass....I hope he realizes at lest half of “his” men will recognize our scent” “that’s what I plan on happening my dear wolf” 

As I had anticipated at least half of the warriors froze conflicted weather to obey their alpha or to allow me to do as I wish. I sniffed the air with strawberries and chocolate playing in the air. My eyes shoot open secretly searching for him sniffing the air while looking for him. “He’s looking for us!” Rose screeched “calm down long enough to find him will ya Rose” the closer the scent was getting the more anxious we got. It got so unbearable I kept switching my weight from right to left.

It was becoming impossible to hide my actions in front of everyone and I know Nick was paying close attention to me. Growl erupted from the forest as a sexy wolf leaps out. “Hubba hubba now that’s a man/beast” Rose nods vigorously in agreement. Nick brakes eye contact with me to watch the new comer as he approaches us. “Yes come to momma you sexy beast” I’m drooling by the point he meets us. My eyes roam all over his black silk like fur noticing his bulging muscles as they flex from his movements.

My eyes land on his and at that moment I feel like he is what is holding me on earth. I fall onto the ground as a slight whimper escapes my mouth. My muscles stretch then shrink as my bones brake to reform themselves as well as joints popping. My ears shrink, and my once gorgeous white fur disappears. My paws change into hands and feet then finally my snout shrinks and becomes a human nose. Tears free fall as I look at my human form for the first time in years and smile. I cover my Brest the best I can with my arms self hugging myself.

I lift my face as confusion and shock is plastered across his face. The wolf beside Nick takes the opportunity to change to his human form. I’m in awe as he lifts himself up to stand on his feet. “Boy oh boy I thought he was sexy as a wolf damn” Rose pipped up “Thank you Moon Goddess for such a divine treat” my face turns red from blushing so much.

My eyes roam his body for a second time starting at his feet which is also weirdly attractive to me. Oh boy those legs. You could tell by just looking at him that he’s extremely active my eyes traveled up to his junk and I gulped. Face turned another shade of red as I thought about the incredible things he could possibly do to me alone. I know one thing if his junk is big now I’d squeal if it grew. His Abe’s caught my eyes as I kept romantically eye rapping him. “s**t this man is a Greek God with looks alone” 

“mmmhhhmmm you got that right Leigh” his skin glistening from sweat being hit by the early morning suns rays. His chest was chiseled like the rest of his body. “Rose was howling with joy and lust” my body began to react in ways I never knew possible. Sensing his heated gaze on me my eyes snap to his face. Medium lips noticeably high cheek bones just the right size nose that matches his tanned God like body then his eyes oh Goddess those wonderfully beautiful eyes.

 I gasped inward glued to his ocean blue eyes that changed to a deep brown. It didn’t register that I was naked at that moment I forced my arms and legs to support me so I could stand. My hair grew much longer than I remember it being falling in front of my bosoms descending to he top of my knees. My bottom was covered in the back and I look at my sandy blonde hair amazed by its length, and I noticed my body is fuller now my bosoms are larger. Nick’s voice brakes me from my inspection. L..le.....Leigh is that you? I nod my head yes unable to speak for years of neglecting to speak. 

The man beside Nick seems irritated I didn’t say anything. I take a step closer to the unknown man and raise my hand gesturing for a greeting. He took my hand with his and I gasp as sparks fly from our contact. I place my open hand to my upper chest as I stutter attempting to speak. I..a..am........l.....le.....lei........Leigh my voice is weak and a bit shaky even sounding frail. The mans eyes shine ocean blue and his voice is deep as well as smooth speaking. Hey Leigh, I am Jase my heart skips a beat. 

J..Jase......B..bea.....beauti..ful......nname. Jase smiles showing off his pearly white teeth. So is your name gorgeous. I turn my face trying to hide as I blush from his loving words. He places his hands on both cheeks of my face and gently turns my face so I am facing him. Never hide from me, ok? I nod my head yes. I am the beta of the Eclipse Moon pack.

Nick yanks Jase away from growling this is my pack b***h. My eyes turn sky blue as Rose scratches to the surface releasing a threatening growl mine. Well to bad rouge his in my pack and must obey me JASE RETURN TO THE PACK HOUSE AT ONCE! I lunge for Nick punching him square on the nose hearing a deafening crunch with and over powering wheal of pain landing on the ground with a thud Nick rolls around on the ground. Jase’s face reflects pride with his breathtaking smile. I repeat a single word possessively “mine.” Nick gets off the ground grabbing his nose glaring at Jase.

Jase growls in displeasure but reluctantly slowly steps back soaking in every detail of my face as though it’ll be the last. Once Jase is hidden by the forest I avert my eyes back towards Nick. He keeps his distance far enough away out of arms reach. I don’t care if your his mate or not you are not allowed on my territory. Nick raises his voice like that’s really needed. I want anyone who spots her trespassing to kill on sight do you understand me? The men answer in unison YES ALPHA.

Rose takes control smirking as she responds I’ll have your blood if you dare keep my mate from me. Nick is now mere centimeters from my face as he responds coldly is that a challenge b***h? No little alpha that is a promise. I can feel the power as it radiates off me causing Nick to struggle keeping his spot without backing down.  You will learn your place even if it means your life b***h. “Why dose every man feel like they must mistreat women?” “I wish I knew Leigh”

Feeling as he succeeded putting his point across he turns heading back the way he came from. “This man needs to learn how to actually whisper” I ease dropped as he gave another man orders. Get ahold of the conceal and inform them of our rogue problem and ask them to have someone come take care of it. “Oh his blood will definitely be ours” Rose said this with excitement imagining tearing him apart with satisfaction tasting his blood in our mouth as he releases his final breath.” “Soon enough my wolf”

I retreat to keep myself hidden from Nicks heavily fortified border portals. I scout all of Mississippi’s border searching for a weak patrol station to sneak past. I wait eagerly to reunite with Jase the bond that has formed is making waiting patiently seem impossible feeling it’s strong pull to him. “Rose?” “Yes Leigh” “how is it we are still in our human form?” “I’m not sure but my guess would be since we formed a bond with our mate I’d imagine that’d be why.”

“I miss him Rose” “me too” I silently cry myself to sleep knowing I can’t be near him. I don’t know what day it is or how long I’ve been waiting outside the border but I could tell the nights were getting unbearable sleeping at night on the ground without fur. I wake shaking as the morning dews fall from my naked skin my breath exits my parted lips causing a little white cloud. “Winter must be upon us Leigh we must get through or we will die out here” “No s**t Sherlock I can obviously see that but you are right”

Since meeting Jase I refused to change forms out of fear of being stuck that way once again. I’m backed into a corner of freezing to death or be a warm fury on all fours. Reluctantly I change to keep warm I scout the border once more as a small convoy nears. Watching the patrol intently seeing how they’d react with their arrival and to my dismay the guards actually left an opening. I quickly race passing the border taking advantage carful not to tip the patrol of my advances. I am panting heavily once I enter the shelter of the forest hidden from the patrols eyes. I stalk silently further into the territory of a place to rest when a twig snaps with leaves crunching from someone walking.

Panic seeps trough my veins vigorously being pumped by my pounding heart I frantically seek for a place to hide. We didn’t come this far to be found just to die come Leigh think think damnit. “Look a cave Leigh!” My head snaps searching for the cave. I barely noticed it with all the trees and moss it was perfectly hidden within a mountain. “YES!” I zoom into the hidden cave crawling backwards facing the entrance of the cave eyeing the direction the light foot steps are coming from. Sleet begins its decent from the sky as a form emerges into my sight.

She looks young about my age really with thick unruly curly hair unlike my wavy long hair. She is wearing a worn out dress that stops around her ankles. She lifts her dress to her knees as she steps over a fallen tree looking around as though she’s searching for something or someone. I tilt my head to the side curious why she is outside and what on earth she could possibly be searching. She shivers from the cold sleet cascading the forest. “Your gonna get us killed” “probably but I can’t just let her stay out there in this weather I mean she is from our pack after all Rose” Rose huffs in agreement.

I cautiously step out of my hidden security closer to her. I notice she seems a little thick boned and yet she seems to have a little tone muscles too. She gasps once she spots me. I nod my head towards the hidden cave for her to follow me. Thankfully she dose as I reenter the cave I shake my body to rid myself from the cold water coating my fur. The girl squeaks from my actions and I can’t help but cackling. She whips the excess water from her face then speaks with a soft caring tone “could you change I’d like to personally meet you?” 

I contemplate this for a minute or two but sigh and nod yes. I crouch on the caves floor as I change from my wolf form to my human. Cold I shiver as I hug myself rubbing my hands up and down my arms attempting to warm myself. Forgive I didn’t think of you not having clothes. She grabs for a strap that lays on her shoulder across her body moving it to reveal a small bag attached to the strap. She lifts the flap of the dingy bag to pull out folded clothes here I brought some in case we may run into each other. I look at her hesitantly taking the clothes.
