Chapter 11 - Ace

“So let me get this right, you want me to leave college and spend a couple of weeks in your home town?”

Melody had been taking things a lot better than I had expected but she was starting to sound a little exhausted after everything she had learnt. Once she had finished her dessert I was going to cut this discussion short and take her back to my room so she could rest. I just had to make sure that Palmer didn’t throw me any more curve balls in the next half an hour, I was already sick of dealing with the fallout from his moody statements.

‘Liar, you have no intention of letting her rest.’ I wasn’t sure why my wolf was complaining, he wanted her just as much as I did. He had been trying to encourage me to take her to our room for most of the day. Maybe he was only saying it to stop me from getting too irritated by my Beta. If that was the case then it was definitely working, I could already feel myself getting hard just thinking about what I was going to do to her later.

“I guess you could say that but it isn’t exactly accurate. The presence of other members of your new pack will help your wolf get stronger and it should make your transformation faster.” I told her while feeding her a spoonful of chocolate cake.

“I understand that but what if I didn’t want to rush things along? What if I wanted to be human for a little bit longer?”

“I can understand that,” I told her before pulling her closer and kissing her cheek.

“There is nothing to stop you from staying here but the mood swings will only get worse and the only way to keep them at bay is to maintain physical contact with your mate.”

Melody looked at Palmer as though he had lost his mind. I had thought she was coping well with all of the information we were giving her. It seems as though I was wrong about that though, there were still some things she didn’t know about becoming a werewolf and that was clearly making her uncomfortable. I was going to have my work cut out to make her feel better about becoming my Luna.

“s*x also helps.” I leaned forward then pressed my lips against her neck and kissed her until her eyes fluttered closed.

“I ermm, I think I would rather stay here than go somewhere else to change.” There was hesitation in her voice and tension in her muscles which I didn’t like. I didn’t know what was making her feel uncomfortable but there wasn’t a chance in hell that I was going to leave her feeling that way.

“That is a shame because all my family and friends would love to meet you. When I called my mom to tell her I had met my Luna she screamed so loud that I almost lost my hearing in one ear.”

The memory made me smile. My mom had been so worried about me coming here without many other pack members to support me. She tried not to talk about her concerns because she didn’t want to worry me, but I knew how she felt. It was nice to be able to set her mind at ease.

“That is only because she hasn’t seen me yet.”

“Don’t be silly. She is going to love you as much as I do, I am actually a little worried that I might have to fight with her for your attention.” I told her, trying to ignore the faces that Palmer was pulling beside me. He might think the public displays of affection were a little too much now but I was sure he would feel differently about that once he had his mate.

“Well, maybe we should just forget about it and go back to your room instead,” she suggested. I knew what she was trying to do and I was tempted to let her get away with it even though I knew it wasn’t what she really needed. My desire for her was so strong that it was difficult for me to turn her down. Instead, I decided to compromise.

“I have a better idea. How about we go back to your room and after I have made you come so hard that everyone in the building is no doubt who you belong to, we can pack a bag ready for you to meet my family.”

“For f***s sake Ace, I am trying to eat,” Palmer complained. He looked so annoyed as he gripped his spoon tightly that I was worried that he was planning to hit me over the head with it.

Melody noticed his annoyance too and tried to pull her chair further away from me. She didn’t manage to make it very far though, I took hold of her chair and pulled it closer to mine before wrapping my arms around her and holding her tightly against my body. My future Beta was my best friend but that wouldn’t stop me from kicking his ass if he did anything to upset my mate.

“Don’t worry Palmer, I am sure you will get your own back on me once you meet your mate,” I told him before pulling my mate onto my lap and kissing her passionately. Half of the supernatural creatures in the room were probably able to smell Melody’s arousal but that wasn’t something I was ashamed of. My mate desired me and my wolf wanted everyone in the room to know it.

“That might be true but if the two of you are going to dry hump each other then I would rather I didn’t have front-row seats to the event.” I was vaguely aware of Palmer muttering something under his breath as he left the table while I continued to kiss my mate and run my hands up and down her spine slowly.

Melody allowed me to kiss her for a few minutes longer before pulling herself out of my grasp and back onto her seat. A deep blush flushed her cheeks as she realised that Palmer had paid our bill and left the restaurant without us.

“Maybe we should leave before we embarrass ourselves further,” Melody suggested. I didn’t believe that anything we had done could be classed as embarrassing ourselves but I was also more than happy to get her alone for a few hours.

I gave her a quick nod of my head and then led her straight out of the restaurant without stopping to make small talk with the waitress or anyone else. I am sure they wouldn’t mind though, judging from the huge wad of cash that Palmer had left on the table, they had a pretty substantial tip to make up for how wrapped up I was in my mate’s presence.

It wasn’t a long walk to Melody’s dormitory but knowing what was waiting for me once we got there made it feel much further. Her building was much larger than mine although it was clear once we got inside that the rooms and hallways were smaller and less maintained. I wasn’t even sure that the locks on this building would be good enough to keep a human out for more than a couple of minutes.

I knew that my dad had paid to make sure that I would be staying in the best building on site but I didn’t think the differences would be quite so profound. I would have to make sure that some of my pack members moved all of her belongings into our room before we came back from visiting our pack. I didn’t want her to have to set foot in this horrible building again.

As soon as Melody opened the door to her room all of my aggravation melted away and was replaced with a desire so strong that it almost knocked me off my feet. The whole room smelled like her and when I stepped inside it felt as though I was bathing in her scent. I had been expecting her scent to be strong here but this was more than I had expected and it left me vulnerable when my wolf pushed his way forward within my mind and took over my body.

Once my wolf had complete control over my body he wasted no time taking what he wanted. He picked Melody up and carried her over to her small single bed before throwing her down and climbing on top of her. I could already tell by the ferocity of his kisses that my wolf wasn’t going to be as gentle with Melody as I was. He was going to make sure that every inch of her body was thoroughly claimed.

I had hoped that I would be able to wait for a bit longer before Melody got so intimately acquainted with my wolf but I knew there would be nothing I could do to hold him back now. I just had to hope that he wasn’t going to scare her, because if she thought I was obsessive over her then she was about to learn that she didn’t really know the meaning of the word.
