Hybrid Fiends

1892 Words
After Julius entered his meditation chamber, he quickly got inside the Nucleus Pod and connected his mind with it. There were 2 of these pods now with one of them currently having Zwei inside of it. He didn’t use the Nucleus to connect with all of his fiends like he normally did but instead, he connected with just one particular fiend. His mind blacked out for a moment before he regained consciousness. ‘Okay, mind transfer is complete.’ Julius said in his mind after looking around the place he had just woken up in. Judging from his eye level, he could tell that he wasn’t in a very tall body. In fact, he was in the small body of a baby fiend that was unexpectedly born from the union of a human and a fiend. “Oh, are you awake, my darling?” “...” “Don’t worry, mommy’s here, go to sleep~” Julius looked up at the woman that was holding him in her arms and pretended to go back to sleep.  ‘I don’t know how this happened but it worked…’ Julius’s mimics had taken over the personas of many human beings in his effort to expand his intelligence network. Many of them naturally had families or were about to settle down and make a family. Naturally, the mimics had to stay undercover and act ‘normally’ so they would naturally return to their families and friends while also doing their best in completing their mission. The ones that had the most problems were probably the humans that the mimics had transformed into that were of humble origins. These mimics were generally confined within the scope of their lower-class social statuses that they inherited from their transformed personas. Julius had at first wanted to weed out these mimics that were deemed failures and essentially useless to the intelligence network he was trying to create, but after hearing something rather interesting from the system, he decided to keep these mimics and let nature play its course. And what Julius and the system meant by letting nature play its course were naturally the reproductive aspects of a married relationship. While most of the experiments didn’t produce any fruits and ultimately led to the partner within the relationship just having a better time during their night activities, there was just this one experiment that actually bore fruit. This particular baby that Julius had transferred his mind into was named Jameson, or James for short, and he was the fruit that was created from the union between a female human and his mimic. The mother, Diona, who gave birth to this human-fiend hybrid wasn’t aware of her husband’s change into a fiend. Even though she had only conceived about a month ago, this woman named Diona didn’t even question the rather ‘brief’ pregnancy period she had before giving birth to her hybrid child.  When Jameson was brought into this world, fortunately enough, he was born in the shape of a human baby, not a fiend baby. This was a good thing for Julius since his mind was connected to this child and he could order him to do his bidding. The best part about it is that Jameson was a fiend that had a human appearance though and through. He was a breed that was much better than his mimics whose appearances could be dispelled by the Church of Holy Light’s magic.  Of course, after his recent upgrade, the tier of the magic used to dispel the transformation needed to be much higher than before. However, that fear of being discovered wasn’t something Julius wanted to be reminded of night and day. This new breed of mimic hybrids, however, was going to put an end to that worry. Not only that, but now, Julius could essentially infiltrate into the humans’ society at a deeper level than before. Growing up and being raised as a human, Julius had many expectations for this fiend named Jameson. He hoped that because of Jameson’s quick incubation period inside his mother’s womb, his growth would also be accelerated. At least, until he grew up into a child. However, he was still prepared for the most likely probability of the young hybrid’s growth is the same as a human. It would definitely be a pain to wait that long but a few years were fine.  Julius was only feeling a little bit impatient because he was young but since becoming a fiend, his lifespan had already become unknown at this point. The Fallen were rumored to be immortal, they wouldn’t die of natural causes such as aging or disease. The only way they would die is if someone killed them. What’re a few years compared to his infinite lifespan? However, despite everything seemingly okay right now, Julius was rather surprised that the hybrid’s mother, Diona, didn’t even find anything out of the ordinary regarding the birth of her child. Compared to a normal human’s pregnancy period, hers was much too fast. Not only that, but the child she bore had a nearly insatiable appetite. Jameson was always drinking her milk, and it would go for hours on end. She needed a bunch of nutrition just to keep this baby and herself alive so if it wasn’t because of Diona’s mimic husband who was now on ‘autopilot' and was consistently procuring food for her, she would be looking more like a skeleton right now than her current healthy appearance. The medical and biological knowledge of this world wasn’t that developed as of yet but even to anyone, it would still be odd and rather questionable for something like this to happen.  It was probably coincidental that the wife of his mimic wasn’t a learned person so she wasn’t too knowledgeable about anything and thankfully, this mimic’s family was living in seclusion within the mountains so they had little contact with the outside world so it would be hard for anyone to have spotted this abnormality and informed Diona about it. Things worked in his favor this time around and after gathering up the necessary data from this experiment, Julius made sure that all cross-breeding between his fiends and those of a different race, would strictly be conducted by those couples that were secluded and less informed about the common sense of the world. Yes, Julius was taking advantage of the stupid people in the world, but he didn’t care one bit about that. He discovered a new way for his fiends to reproduce and propagate. The method even warranted Julius the thoughts of kidnapping young and abandoned maidens from other races so they could become breeding pods for his fiends. The loss of some unwanted and easily forgotten people would be easy to cover up and he felt no remorse for turning people into objects since they weren’t even part of his race.  Instead, Julius felt that those unwanted people should be happy that they’d serve a purpose in their miserable lives rather than remaining as trash to society. He already made plans to purchase slaves and directly take away those living in despair and wasting away their lives. Of course, he wouldn’t treat them harshly like those cretins he’s read from history books and storybooks. He was indeed taking them away but he was doing so to give them an opportunity to live better lives as his fiends’ seedbeds. They’d live ordinary lives much like Diona and her family were right now, except, the people he kidnapped would be living inside his lands with the strict requirement that they’d be ‘partnering’ with his fiends. He’d treat them as his Kingdom’s citizens but they would be isolated from the world since no one could know about their existence. The extreme southern regions of the Shifting Hallows as well as the floating islands within the central regions were already being prepared by his fiends since this plan was already being put into action a few days ago. Julius had discussed things with Eisha already and although at first, she was extremely against it since Julius wanted to treat the people he took as objects―or humanoid spawners to be exact―but eventually, she gave Julius the idea he was currently implementing. Instead of taking these peoples’ lives and turn them from bad to worse, she wanted Julius to take their lives and improve them instead. If not, they’d essentially be like the humans who had abandoned these people to die in their own society making them even worse than the humans. Eisha was a little displeased at Julius’s lack of empathy for every other race besides his own, but then again, the reason for her empathy likely stemmed from her origins as a human and the compassion she gained after becoming a Matriarch. Julius didn’t like that idea of him and his fiends being inferior to another race, especially the humans, so he decided to be merciful and open-minded. He implemented Eisha’s idea and began ordering his fiends to buy slaves or just pick up people from the roadsides. Naturally, most of the ones taken would be female because not once had Julius seen any of his homunculi having female features. All of his fiends sported male features and he didn’t know why. Actually, rather than sporting male features, it was more like his fiends sported a gender-neutral body. They could become both male and female if they wanted, but it was hard since their master was a male. With Julius at the helm, the fiends’ gender-neutral aspects would shift more towards the masculine side rather than the feminine side. After he was put to bed, Julius, who was still inside Jameson’s body, woke up and began to move around. He carefully got out of his crib and began crawling around before eventually forcing himself to stand up after he enhanced his body with Fiend Energy. ‘Another advantage of this hybrid body… the babies have the innate advantage to use both Fiend Energy and even Mana.’ Julius could feel it. Within Jameson’s body were 2 different types of energy. It wasn’t like his Dark and Light Fiend Energy, instead, it was 2 completely different types of energy resources that were harmoniously circulating inside. ‘Not just perfect mimics...but also perfect soldiers…’ He hated to admit it, but these new hybrids had much higher potential than his pure fiends. Although he hated to admit it, in the end, even these hybrids were still fiends. Julius immediately heard the footsteps of Jameson’s mother coming so he quickly hopped back into his crib. ‘This will be enough experimenting for today. For now, I’ll order this one to start cultivating this energy.’
