Battle, 1 vs 2

2564 Words
The emergence of a new enemy quickly alerted Kur’thash and Sammael who were still engaged in their fierce battle. They looked at each other for a moment before coming to a silent agreement with one another. However, just as they were about to move back to support their respective armies, Julius, who was observing them from high above, quickly noticed their intentions after they stopped their engagement and descended to the ground. He landed powerfully in front of the two warriors and when the dust settled, the Crimson Orc and the Holy Knight quickly saw his fiendish appearance.  Julius smiled at the two before saying, “Hello there.” The two warriors quickly backed away and created a distance between themselves and this newcomer who was radiating a wicked aura. “What manner of beast are you, heathen?” Sammael roared in question.  Julius maintained his smile despite the two warriors radiating clear hostility towards him. They could instinctively tell that he was the person controlling the pale monsters attacking their armies so they didn't hesitate to reveal their bloodlust. “I can’t have you interfering with the battle back there...how about you two accompany me to a bout? I needed to find a good punching bag to test my strength!” His words only angered the orc while Sammael was wary that this unknown creature that looked like a human with wings could communicate with them. Since it was intelligent, this meant that he had arrived here on this battlefield with an objective. “Enough talk, Kur’thash will destroy you!” Julius let out a light chuckle and said, “Well, at least one of you is eager. What about you, human? You’ll have to go through me if you want to help those pitiful soldiers being massacred by my fiends.” “Fiends?” Without answering his question, Julius’s body began transforming as he unleashed the full extent of his [Metamorphosis].  His body enlarged a bit as the density of his muscles increased before strange markings and tattoos began appearing all over his body. From the start, Julius’s upper body was bare so Kur’thash and Sammael could see that the unique markings seemed to form some kind of intricate pattern. However, they couldn’t analyze him any further because the dangerous aura Julius began emitting in the next instance put them on high alert. Julius’s body would occasionally flash with crimson-colored energy, showing his two adversaries the condensed energy his body was holding was no joke. Kur’thash roared at Julius before readying his hammer.  Sammael quickly stepped forward and raised his shield. Julius smiled when he saw that they were ready to battle. He took a step forward...and immediately appeared in front of the two warriors. “Taste my fist!” With sparks of crimson energy accompanying it, Julius’s fist slammed powerfully into Sammael’s shield. Just before he struck it, a transparent barrier appeared in front of the shield and he quickly broke through it. Even with the barrier, Sammael was pushed back a few meters while Kur’thash quickly jumped into the air from behind the Holy Knight and struck down with his iron hammer. Julius raised both arms and block the hammer but he could feel the bones in his arm fracture from the impact. He wasn’t trying to underestimate the two but instead was gauging out their power. The status screen showed him their attributes which was fine and all, but their actual strength in battle couldn’t be determined by just the numbers shown on it. [Status Name: Kur’thash Gijak’mal Race: Chaos Orc Class: Berserker Level: 86 STR: 190 (S) AGI: 140 (S) INT: 110 (S) Skill: [Chaos Hammer S], [---], [---], [---] Addition: [Chao Affinity], [---], [---] Condition: Healthy, Chaos, Enraged    ] [Status Name: Sammael Anqui’or Race: Human Class: Holy Knight Level: 100 STR: 180 (S) AGI: 160 (S) INT: 150 (S) Skill: [Claìomh Solais S], [---], [---], [---] Addition: [Holy Light’s Blessing], [---], [---] Condition: Healthy            ] They had high levels, powerful stats, and skills. They were much stronger than Eisha in all aspects because they were nearly twice her level. Things would have been bad if his wife and Aria came out and had to clash with these two individuals. There were also 2 other powerful auras he felt from the humans’ forces situated at the far back while the orcs had one more but it was trying to hide itself. It probably escaped the humans’ detection magic but it couldn’t escape the system’s scan. Julius didn’t need to worry about these 3 people because they were there to keep the other side in check while also staying wary of the dwarves that might come down from their mountain city and suddenly attack. Of course, the ones that needed to worry were the humans since the dwarves wouldn’t attack the orcs. The enemy of my enemy is also an enemy but for now a friend. That’s how the dwarves saw the orcs in this situation. Speaking of the dwarves, Julius noticed on his map that there was some movement on  their side. He could tell that Eisha was coming along with the dwarves. Before they came, Julius wanted to have a good fight with these two. After being struck by the crimson orc’s blow, Julius stabbed the orc with the sharp claw-like protrusions on his wings. He flipped into the air and kicked the orc away. When Kur’thash landed, Julius saw a greenish energy flow through his body and heal the stab wounds he just inflicted. He smirked at this because he too had enhanced regenerative abilities while in his Metamorphosis form. The fractures on his arm quickly healed and he rushed at the orc. Sammael quickly got back on his feet and jumped in front of Julius. This time around, he firmly blocked Julius’s blow and tried countering with a hack of his sword. Julius waved it off with his wings that he expertly maneuvered to hit the side of the blade. He made sure to wrap aura around his wings so that he wouldn’t accidentally hurt himself. Seeing the energy Julius was using, the two warriors frowned before they roared and did the same. “So you can use Aura… how did such an evil creature like you learn such a sacred technique?” “Sacred? Hah, even that orc whom you called ‘filthy’ can use Aura. Why are you acting like this is a skill exclusively reserved for you hypocrites of the church?” “Hypocrites? Heathen, I will not allow you to besmirch my church!” Sammael was about to cast his Claìomh Solais but Julius quickly rushed over to stop him, however, Kur’thash suddenly appeared and slammed his fist into Julius’s face, throwing him far away. Julius flipped in the air and stabilized himself. He wiped off the blood and grinned before materializing his bow. He knocked a powerful [Wind Arrow] and shot it towards Sammael. “You ignore me?! Kur’thash, make you regret! Kur’thash threw his hammer at Julius but he easily evaded it. The hammer didn’t obey the laws of physics as it quickly spun around and tried to attack Julius again before flying back into Kur’thash’s hands. “...” Julius only stared at the orc for a moment before resuming his attacks on Sammael. He couldn’t let the knight complete his technique or else he could be in trouble. He fired multiple [Wind Arrows] all around him and created a dust storm.  Using the cover of the dust veil, Julius swooped down and appeared in front of Sammael. “!” “As much as I’d like to see its power, I can’t let you use that on me.” Julius began pummeling Sammael and disrupted his skill. He only backed down after hearing the furious roar and the sound of the wind breaking from behind him.  He took to the skies and the unfortunate Sammael was hit square in the chest my Kur’thas’s flying hammer. “Agh!” “Hahaha!” Julius saw the hammer plow straight into Sammael’s chest and turned to look at the stupefied orc who only showed a slight hint of remorse before glaring up at him and roaring. The battle between the fiends versus the orc and human army had reached a tilting point where the human and orc side was visibly losing. To make matters worse, Eisha’s forces and the dwarven kingdom’s army had finally arrived on the chaotic battlefield. Since they knew that the fiends were their allies, the dwarves quickly made their way over to the site where the fiends were battling against the humans and began supporting them. Julius received an alert from Eisha that she and the dwarves had arrived on the battlefield so Julius made sure that his fiends didn’t accidentally attack the dwarves. After he made sure of this, he turned his attention back to Kur’thash and Sammael. Kur’thash was furiously rushing in his direction while Sammael was cursing and slowly picking himself up from the crater he was blown into from Kur’thash’s misfired attack. Just before he and the orc could clash, the 3 powerful auras that were waiting within their respective armies quickly began moving towards his battlefield. Julius frowned before he started an incantation. He had just enough time to cast the spell before Kur’thash was upon him and the other powerful individuals arrived.  “Ctholos, exhume malevolent darkness…[Unholy]!” A dark aura began spilling form Julius’s body and just before Kur’thash could feel that something was wrong, the aura exploded out and consumed him. “AAAARRGGHHHHHHH!!!” Kur’thash let out a cry unbefitting of an orc. Sammael saw the darkness move in his direction so he quickly raised his shield and casted the strongest barrier in his repertoire of skills. “Angels of God, lend me your strength…[Angelic Bulwark]!” Sammael could see that his barrier was visibly being eaten away by the darkness. He couldn’t imagine what the unfortunate orc was experiencing after being directly exposed to the demonic skill that the evil being had conjured. It was much more powerful than his [Claìomh Solais]. Just as his barrier was about to break, he heard an incantation that suddenly repaired it. “...[Angelic Aegis].” The voice sounded a bit elderly but Sammael knew who it was. “A-ArchBishop Torres...thank the gods!” The black energy slowly began to dissipate and Julius’s form was revealed. He was still in his transformed state and he had a smile on his face as he looked up to see the 3 newcomers that had arrived. “Hehehe, you’re late for the party.” “...” “...” “...” The 3 individuals who had arrived were the ArchBishop of the Holy Light Church, the General―or rather, the Queen―of Auxpex, and an orc shaman with skeletal protrusions on his back. The orc shaman quickly went over to the incapacitated Kur’thash and began casting a spell before splashing the contents of a vial over the orc’s bloodied body. He was within an inch of his life but the shaman was able to quickly bring him back from the edge of death just before he crossed over. Julius was rubbing his chin thoughtfully when he saw the orc’s healing magic. “How interesting.” He completely ignored that he was currently surrounded by a group of powerful individuals that rivaled him in power. The ArchBishop moved over to heal Sammael who quickly got back on his feet after a single spell. Queen Yvette readied her greatsword but Julius quickly backed off when he saw that they were about to attack. He still had energy to spare despite using his skill, [Unholy], but 5 against 1, that wasn’t a fight he was going to battle.  It would be suicide if he believed that he could take on 5 people with strength and abilities close to his. He could manage fighting against both Kur’thash and Sammael because his [Metamorphosis] boosted his stats so he could cope with them. However, if they had properly worked together, they would have definitely given him a run for his money but that was impossible.  However, if he were to fight against five...that wasn’t something he was currently capable of doing even if they weren’t able to cooperate well with each other. “Evil creature, you can’t run,” ArchBishop Torres calmly said before raising his staff. “I despise you self-righteous hypocrites of the church…” Julius said aloud before looking around. “You can try to keep me here, but my fiends will have completely decimated your armies before you could even kill me.” What Julius said was true, the fiends and the dwarves were already on the verge of completely crushing the humans while his fiends were duking it out evenly with the orcs and was somewhat at an advantage since Eisha and Aria had arrived to help. The 5 people didn’t seem to care about his words and prepped themselves to attack. However, before they could make a move, a loud boisterous shout was heard before someone landed behind Julius and smashed apart the ground. “Wahahaha! You had me fooled, King Julius. To think this is your true form!” From the dust, a dwarf encased in a magnificent black-gold armor wielding an axe and hammer in both hands, stepped out and stood next to Julius after saying his piece. Julius looked down at the dwarf before greeting him. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person, King Sithaeth, though the circumstance isn’t ideal.” “Hah, you came to support my people in this battle, there’s nothing more ideal than to meet a warrior than on the battlefield!” Their opponents faltered for a moment when the Mountain King had arrived. Their enemies were still outnumbered but with the Mountain King here, the fight would be much harder and their armies would truly be decimated once their fight was over. “Mountain King Sithaeth…” ArchBishop Torres lightly said. “So you were in league with this demonic being?” “Hmph, scumbag Torres. I don’t know what’s more demonic, your filthy hypocritical arse or your disgusting swine-like face!” The ArchBishop’s brows twitched when he heard Sithaeth’s insults. “So you’ve doomed your race by colluding with these pale demons. We will expunge you and rid this world of your evil!”
