The day Levi was waiting for had finally arrived. It was the day that he felt hopeful about.
It was the day that would decide what Levi’s first step would be. It was the day, Levi’s ambitious self would get dominant. He had to do well in the interview. It was what he had longed for all these days. Levi had his interview at the company named SavvyTalks.
Levi was nervous. He had put in all he had into this. The application, his projects that he worked upon while he bunked college and the preparation he had been doing all these days. Everything! Nelsee had hopes for him. He had to do it. He had to do it for himself and for Nelsee.
Levi had been sitting in front of his laptop all night the previous night. He was exhausted. Nelsee wanted to cuddle with Levi and help him get a good night's sleep, but Levi was so engrossed banging on the keys of his laptop that Nelsee did not want to interrupt him.
Levi was passionate about one thing and that was coding. Coding was something that he would live for. He loved the language of codes more than the language he spoke. He was just a kid and there was a huge realm of uncharted areas in the field of computers and technology.
Levi had kept himself awake with cups of coffee back to back. Just as it was starting to dawn, Levi made himself another cup of coffee and wanted to wake Nelsee up so they could have their morning coffee together. Levi’s eyes landed on Nelsee, he instantly felt a warm attraction towards her. He placed the coffee cup on the table and walked to her. He gently touched her forehead and ran his fingers through her hair. She moved slightly. Levi withdrew immediately not to wake her up . Her face looked pleasant and she appeared to be resting well. Levi did not want to bother her with his shenanigans.
Levi lightly kissed her on her face, felt her breath on his face while he went close to her, held her hand while she was fast asleep.
Levi knew he was smitten, suddenly he remembered that his coffee would turn cold. He grabbed the mug and walked up to the terrace. Levi knew Nelsee’s favourite corner on the terrace. He knew that is where she stood and used to get lost in thought. He walked up to get some fresh air and to take a break from the frantic programming he was doing all night.
The favourite spot that Nelsee stood at whenever she wanted to contemplate, was now occupied by her lover Levi. Levi stood there admiring the dawn, the darkened clouds that would sooner than expected turn brighter. Levi fell in love with the silence being broken by the chirping melodies of the birds.
It was the pleasant air and the freshness of morning that boosted his confidence and absorbed his stress of the previous night. Probably, coffee gave him a slight kick as well.
Levi stood in silence revisiting all the algorithms and logics that could help him get through the interview. 2 hours passed while he was on the terrace, changing his position from time to time. Taking short strolls on the terrace and occasionally sitting down on the stairs. He knew he was as prepared as he could get. He was all set.
Gathering all his confidence he climbed down the stairs and found Nelsee wriggling out of the bed. He kissed her good morning and made her a cup of coffee.
Nelsee said, “How is your preparation?” “ Sorry I overslept, I should have stayed awake to help you out.”
Levi chuckled, “ What do you think you would have been able to help me with?”
Nelsee,” You do have a point there!” They both chuckled.
After a while, Nelsee took a shower and got dressed in formal wear. He wore a pair of grey coloured trousers paired with a crisp dark navy blue shirt. He looked dapper. If there was one reason for him to make it successfully through the interview, it would definitely be the way Levi looked. Levi was a very presentable human being. He was in good shape, was young and always wore a serious expression. It showed on his face that he took things seriously. Of course not to forget, he was brought up and parented by books. So he clearly was not only a deep thinker but also a fashionista but of formal wear.
He decided not to walk, but to take a bike so he could reach earlier than the scheduled time. Nelsee stood at the window of her apartment and waved to Levi will flying kisses and all the luck in the world.
Nelsee biked his way through the streets and zoomed to step onto that platform that would take him one step closer to success.
Nelsee reached in less than 15 minutes. He was surprised as to how quick he rode his bike. “SAVVYTALKS”, the board read. The building was huge and for some reason, this building overwhelmed Levi. Looked like this was the first time he was here with a purpose that was so deeply related to him and to a great extent affect him and his career choices.
There was something about the reason he was at that building, there was something about the passion he had, there was something about the way the day started, there was something about the peace he experienced. There was something about his ambitions culminating into one single act which would be the interview he would attend in less than an hour.
The forthcoming hour would be of extreme significance to Levi and to Nelsee as well. Not only was he himself passionate about getting into SavvyTalks, he terribly wanted Nelsee to join as well. He knew she would love it there. He knew he had to help her out of her past.
With all the hope and positivity, Levi showed up at the gate where he was stopped by a man with a huge stature.
This man did not seem to move when Levi asked him to excuse him so he could enter the gate. That man was weirdly condescending.
“ Can I see an ID?”, he asked in the more hoarse voice. Nelsee nodded.
He slid out his ID card and also opened the email which had the call letter for the interview.
This person who stopped Levi was the Head of Security there. For some reason, that day the guard was missing and the head had taken the guards place. This was amusing to Levi.
That is what he could make out from the badge the guy with the hoarse voice wore.
After confirming that the call letter was genuine, the huge man directed Levi towards the main door which would lead him to the lobby and that is where he would have to get himself registered as an interviewee.
Levi did as he was directed to. He silently walked into the door and spoke at the reception. He filled in a register and answered some questions at the reception. The warm receptionist pointed at a chair to be seated and he sat down all set to wait till he would be called in at the allotted time slot.
