Come What May

The sun had started setting, it was tea time. Nelsee stood there staring at the boiling pot of tea, blank, but disappointed, till the steam suddenly broke her trance.  “What am I going to do without a job? I need to get a job! I need to get a job..” Nelsee walked up the stairs to her favorite spot on the terrace. She sipped her tea and stood there admiring the clouds covering streaks of orange and red in the sky.  Nelsee, being the deep thinker that she was, felt instantly disappointed at the sight of the pretty sky. “Nature’s beauty is always taken for granted. It exists so abundantly that no one takes a moment to stop and admire. Yet, nature is selfless, it exists in its most beautiful form and offers selflessly.”  Nelsee was a beautiful twenty four year old girl, who would always be there for those who needed her. She was someone who could help an old person cross the road or could teach orphans or could adopt abandoned dogs.  Yes, she could, but never did.  She was selfless in her own way. She slept with men against her will. She let them do things to her even though she was disgusted by them. She put their needs before her own. Nelsee was selfless, she endured all the pain only for one reason. The reason she decided to step out into the real world. Nelsee kept admiring the sky, it was such a beauty. She smiled at how the shapes of the clouds changed, how the orange streaks turned red and red streaks turned black. It was starting to get cloudy.  Hope was all she had. Nelsee had taken the first step to put her past behind, to gather courage to let go of the easy way and adopt the tougher but right way. She chose to live a normal life.  Moving out of the cramped town she was in, to Simtry, a city with decent and educated people and living in a rented house under the prettiest piece of sky was Nelsee’s first step in the right direction.  Nelsee thought, “I could not have though of moving ahead before, but now that I have, I must not look back.”
