Last day part 1

I went to my room, consumed with everything I had just learned and all the events that happened yesterday. Sitting on my bed I questioned it all, why was my life so unfair? Were Mum and I cursed to be alone forever sharing the same fate? The moon goddess must really hate us. “Look on the positive side”, Sasha piped up. “ at least you have each other.” “Your right Sash as always and together mum and I have got this”. Gathering my thoughts, I started putting a pile of my things together ready to pack when mum shouted “Shai, can you come downstairs a minute.” I ran downstairs. “What’s wrong Mum?” “Your Aunt Lotties just rang. She’s had a few problems on the road, rogues have attacked them, she’s OK, but she needs to take care of the mess they’ve made and will be heading here later on tonight. So I’m afraid we won't be leaving until the morning.” “oh well, it gives me more chance to pack, I suppose.” I said, a little frustrated. I just want to get out of here and, in typical fashion, there is always something to stop me. Life just can't give me a break for once. “You will have to go to school today. We need to keep up the pretence that everything is ok, so no one is suspicious of our plans to leave”. My face dropped, I didn’t want to go back there. Everyone would point and stare and laugh at me. “I know it will be hard, sweetheart, but its just for one afternoon, and remember this, after today you will never ever have to go back there it's just for today.” “OK fine, I'll do it, only because it means I can say goodbye to my friends, and maybe I'll make my last day at school one where everyone remembers just who I am”, smiling to myself. I liked the sound of that. I made a promise to Sasha that we would stop being the victims, and we wouldn’t let anyone hurt us anymore. Maybe today was the day we showed them all.” “That’s my girl” mum said, giving me a quick squease. Grabbing my phone, I realised I had a million and one missed calls from Autumn and Lilly. I quickly hit the speed dial and waited for the call to connect. Autumn answered on the second ring, “where have you been? We've been worried sick. Are you OK? Do you need me to kick Ambers face into the ground and pummel Damiens arse for you?” laughing, I said,“ as much as I would love to say yes to you kicking some arse today, we had better not, anyway you still picking me up for school?” “ Sure thing darl, be there in five”. With that, the phone clicked off, and I went back downstairs, collected my rucksack and went outside to wait for her to arrive. It was time to say my final goodbyes to my two favourite people and face today head on. It wasn’t long before Autumn pulled up outside with Lilly sat in the passenger seat and we were on our way to school. I explained everything to them, all about the Alpha being my farther to Amber actually being my half-sister, and mum and I leaving in the morning. I, was still trying to process it all and struggling I had so many questions. I wonder if Amber knows being the biggest question I wanted answering, but did that really matter, would she have treated me any differently had she known or is it she knew and that’s why she bullied me. They were both upset that we were leaving, after all, we had been friends for a very long time. They understood though, we as a family had been through enough heartbreak and promised to make this last day one to remember. On the journey to school id made a decision, I was going to walk into school with my head held high no matter what. To get through this day I needed to show everyone that I was unaffected by it all. So that’s exactly what I did. I walked straight through those double doors with purpose. Autumn and Lilly at either side of me with a smile on my face, I didn’t care about anyone else today they were irrelevant I was going to have some fun. My first lesson of the day combat training with Mr Marsden. This would give Sasha and I the chance to kick some butt on our last day. “No more holding back Sasha, we’ve got this.” We all headed towards the gym which is at the other side of the school. Everyone’s eyes were on me but I didn’t care anymore. Smiling and waving at everyone as I passed. This girl is on a mission today and no one can stop me now. Autumn, Lilly, and I went into the locker room and changed into our training gear. I decided to wear all black as it went with my mood today, dark and brooding. Black leggings, black training bra and my favourite black Nike trainers. When we were all ready, we made our way inside the gym. I loved this place, everything you need was here, the floor was kitted out with all the training equipment and floor mats littered the area. I was excited and jogged to the front of the class. Where Mr Marsden stood front and centre awaiting everyone’s arrival. He was an excellent teacher, and I was going to miss his lessons when we left tomorrow. He really did bring out the best in his students, but he was also someone you didn’t cross, he took no prisoners in his lessons and I loved that. “Ok class, everyone here?” he waited for silence he wanted to be sure he had everyone’s attention. “Good, let us begin, we will start with cardio, we need to walm up our bodies with a few simple stretchers before the real training begins.” “Grab your partners and head to a mat, you know what to do” With that he dismissed us, Autumn, Lilly, and I headed to a mat to walm up. Afterall with what I planned it would not hurt to practice a little. “Remember Sasha were not holding back today, time to show these people exactly what were made of.” Smiling to myself I got into position on the mat, I’m going to enjoy this………….
