Blurb

My mate betrayed me with my sister.

The bond shattered. My heart broke.

And I vowed I’d make him regret ever letting me go.

So I did the unthinkable.

I seduced the Alpha—my ex’s father.

Cold, powerful, and untouchable, Alpha Darius has ruled the Crescent Hollow Pack alone since his mate left him years ago. I thought I was playing him. Using him. But I didn’t realize he’d been watching me long before my world fell apart.

Now I’m caught in a dangerous game of desire, revenge, and secrets that run deeper than blood.

He wants me.

My ex wants me back.

And I just want to watch them both burn.

But in this pack, nothing stays buried for long...

And I might have just given my heart to the only wolf who could truly break me.

He was never supposed to be mine.

But fate doesn’t care about rules.

1. Shattered Bonds
The wind howled outside like a wounded beast—wild, unrelenting. It was nothing compared to the storm inside Selene. She stood in the clearing behind the packhouse, the moonlight catching on her silver-blonde hair, her breaths coming in short, ragged bursts. The mate bond—the invisible thread that once tied her soul to Luca’s—had snapped just hours ago. She could still feel the phantom sting of it in her chest, like claws raking over raw flesh. He had chosen her. Her sister. The memory slammed into her like a freight train: Luca’s scent on Amara’s skin, their guilty faces, the silence that followed when she confronted them. No apology. No regret. Just that look in Luca’s eyes—a smug mixture of shame and indifference. She had begged the Moon Goddess to be wrong. To take it all back. But now the bond was broken, and in its place bloomed something else. Not grief. Not even hatred. Something colder. Sharper. Revenge. Selene straightened her spine and wiped the last tear from her cheek. If Luca thought she would crumble, he was wrong. If her sister thought she'd won, she had no idea who she was dealing with. Let them choke on the consequences. A presence stirred in the shadows beyond the trees. She stiffened, instinctively lowering into a defensive stance. But she didn’t need her wolf to tell her who it was. Alpha Darius. He stepped into the clearing like he belonged to the night itself—tall, composed, every inch the leader of the Crescent Hollow Pack. His dark eyes studied her, not with pity, but something far more dangerous. Curiosity. Possession. "I didn’t mean to interrupt," he said, his voice low and rough like crushed velvet. "But you’ve been out here too long. The night isn't always kind to the heartbroken." Her jaw clenched. "Good. I’m done being kind." Darius tilted his head, the faintest smirk touching his lips. "Are you?" She turned away, but not before catching the way his eyes lingered—on her face, her throat, the barely-contained tremor in her limbs. He had never spoken more than a few words to her before. Yet now, there was something in his gaze that said he’d seen more than she’d ever noticed. She wasn’t just the scorned ex-mate anymore. She was something else to him. "You should rest," he said, stepping closer. "A broken bond can ruin even the strongest of wolves." She didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. "Then maybe it’s time I ruin something back." Darius paused. A beat passed between them, heavy with meaning. Then, softly—so softly it barely touched the wind—he murmured, "Careful, little wolf. That kind of fire has a way of burning more than its target." And with that, he vanished into the trees, leaving her breathless—and not entirely from pain. Selene stared into the night, her heart still aching, but her spine steel. She would make them all regret it. And if Alpha Darius wanted to watch? Let him. 2. The Alpha eyes Selene didn’t sleep. The pain of the broken bond hadn’t dulled. It just settled into her bones like ice—cold, numbing, and quietly destructive. She sat by her window as the first fingers of dawn crept through the trees. The packhouse was silent, but inside her chest, a war raged. Every heartbeat pulsed with bitterness. Every breath tasted like ash. She should leave. Run, like so many broken wolves before her. But her spine straightened as she stared into the forest. No. She wouldn't run. She would rise. And if it took seducing the most feared male in the territory to remind them who she was—so be it. A knock sounded on her door. Sharp. Controlled. She opened it to find Beta Malric standing there, looking as stiff as ever. "Alpha Darius wants to see you. Now." She blinked. "What for?" Malric’s jaw flexed, clearly uncomfortable. "He didn't say. But you don't keep the Alpha waiting, Selene." She didn’t flinch. Didn’t ask questions. She simply nodded and followed. --- The Alpha's private office was carved from black stone and cedarwood. A wall of windows faced the woods, sunlight streaking through the glass like golden claws. And behind his desk sat Darius, clad in a dark shirt rolled up to the elbows, forearms braced as he watched her enter. "Leave us," he told Malric without looking. The door clicked shut. Silence. Selene folded her arms. "I assume this isn’t about pack duties." His eyes met hers—gray, sharp, unreadable. "You made a choice last night." She arched a brow. "Which one? To cry in the forest or to be done with crying altogether?" He stood slowly, his height forcing her to tip her chin up. "To stop hiding." Her pulse stuttered. “Is that a problem?” "No," he said, stepping around the desk. “It’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for.” Her breath caught. Darius moved closer—close enough that the scent of pine, musk, and something darker wrapped around her like smoke. He didn’t touch her. Just looked. Really looked. "You came to me last night," he murmured. "Not because you needed comfort. But because you wanted to feel powerful again." Her heart slammed against her ribs. "And you think seducing me will give you that?" The air thickened. "Would it work?" she asked quietly. Darius’s voice dropped an octave. "It might. If you understood who you’re playing with." Selene met his gaze, something reckless sparking behind her tired eyes. "Teach me, then." For a second, the Alpha's mask slipped. Something primal flickered behind his calm exterior. "You’re hurt," he said, stepping even closer, his voice now brushing the shell of her ear. "And dangerous things are born from pain. Be careful what you awaken, little wolf. I don’t play gently." She turned her head just enough for their eyes to lock—mere inches between them. "Good," she whispered. "I don’t want gentle." 3.Lines that Blur The forest was quiet, but Selene's thoughts were not. She had left Darius’s office with her heart pounding, her skin humming with tension she didn’t fully understand. Every word he’d spoken echoed in her mind, dark and magnetic. He hadn’t touched her—hadn’t needed to. His voice alone had unraveled something inside her she couldn’t name. And she hated how much she wanted more of it. Her wolf stirred restlessly beneath her skin. Not out of fear. But curiosity. Desire. No. This wasn’t real. This was control. Revenge. Nothing more. She was playing him. She had to be. But then why did she feel like he was always three moves ahead? --- The pack courtyard buzzed with morning training. Wolves of all ranks sparred on the open field, but conversation died the moment Selene stepped onto the dirt path. Eyes followed her. Some whispered. Others outright stared. They all knew. Luca stood near the weapons racks, shirtless and laughing—until he saw her. His face fell. His smile vanished. He hadn’t seen her since the night everything crumbled. Selene kept walking, chin high, expression calm. She could feel his confusion through what was left of their broken bond—tattered threads fraying in her wake. “Selene.” She didn’t stop. “Selene, wait.” She turned slowly, the perfect image of composed indifference. “Something you need, Luca?” He looked wrecked. Dark circles under his eyes, jaw tense. “I didn’t know you were staying.” She shrugged. “Why wouldn’t I? The pack doesn’t belong to you.” His throat worked. “You’re hurting.” “Oh,” she said softly, “Is that what this is? You’d know, wouldn’t you? Since you caused it.” Luca stepped closer, eyes flicking to the others watching them. “Can we talk in private?” “No.” Her voice was sharp. Final. “You had your chance.” And then, deliberately, she looked past him—toward the Alpha. Darius stood by the training ring, arms crossed, eyes locked on her. He didn’t look away when their eyes met. Neither did she. The silence between them spoke louder than anything she could say. A promise. A threat. Luca followed her gaze—and stiffened. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he muttered, voice low. “You think he cares about you? He’s using you.” Selene smiled, slow and cold. “Funny. That’s exactly what you did. But he knows what to do with a woman he wants.” And with that, she walked away, leaving Luca seething, and Darius watching. --- That night, Selene stood in her room, staring at her reflection. She was changing. Not into someone new—but into the version of herself that had always been waiting beneath the surface. Bold. Fearless. Free. A knock came at her door. She opened it to find a note on the floor. No signature. Just two words: “Come upstairs.” She didn’t hesitate.
