Amina flopped down on the sofa with a sigh, it was late in the evening and after she'd tried to talk to Fred, again– with him being adamant of course– she'd given up and resigned herself to fate. She'd have to go talk to Ifeanyi Daniels and if possible grovel at his feet, at least Ben was working on that end.
She bent her head and pinched her nose bridge, What to do? What to do? Even if Ben were to somehow successfully find out the details of his whereabouts, she still had to devise a plan to get him to accept the role.
The front door opened with a creak, making her glance up in its direction. Bisi, her close friend and room mate walked in with her handbag hanging loosely off her shoulders. Lost in her thoughts, she ignored her entry. Bisi sat down beside Aminaand heaved a deep sigh.
"God I'm so tired," she complained. She glanced at Amina and nudged her with her elbow.
"What's wrong with this one."
Amina hissed in reply. "Don't mind me jare, I just had a bad day. You won't believe what that old witch Giselle did, she went and took me off the set saying she wanted someone who was a roseflower, a dandelion, what rubbish! Imagine o, a whole me, Katrina Bello."
Bisi clapped her hands in wonder, "Ehn ehn Seriously? Didn't she know that before giving you the role, now after months of rehearsing you're no longer what she wants."
"Abi o help me ask her o. Y'allah I feel like grabbing that old geezer and slapping her till kingdom come," she said heatedly.
"And I thought I was having a bad day. Biko nu calm down and think with a level head. What are you going to do now?"
"Fred, the director said I should find a way to talk to Ifeanyi Daniels because apparently that's who Giselle wants more than anything and she'll have to put me back in the movie," Amina explained to Bisi's delight. She squealed and jumped out of her seat, fanning herself with her hands.
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe you'll get to work with Ifeanyi Daniels. God that guy is so hot. It's times like this I wish I knew how to act."
Amina hissed and rolled her eyes, "Hot ko, fire ni."
"Yes, you're totally right. He's so fire, with those muscles of his and that charming smile, Oh he melts my heart," she gushed.
"Need I remind you that he's been off the scene for years and he's probably an ugly fat toad with blackened teeth and sour breath," she smiled in satisfaction as the dreamy look was wiped off Bisi's face instantly.
"That, right there," she pointed her index finger at Amina, "is what they call hating. But don't worry though, I'm sure you can get an audience with him, what with all your packaging," she cupped her average sized breast and wiggled her brows at Amina. In reply, she picked up a throw pillow and threw it at the latter who ran into the kitchen.
Their house was a three bedroom flat with a spacious kitchen equipped with state of the art equipments and an en suite bathroom in each bedroon. Amina had one room and Bisi the other, the last room was kept as a guest room for visitors. Amina stared at Bisi as she opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water, opened it and gulped it down. Bisi was a slender dark skinned girl with an average face and shape, she wasn't too curvy or too thin, she was just the right proportion in all places. Unlike Amina, who had a boxom chest and curvaceous hips, she had a caramel skin tone and honey coloured eyes that she didn't like one bit. She always wore blue eye contacts to cover up what she deemed and imperfection and her tough, curly hair the colour of sand that truly showed her roots, she covered with a wig, always.
"So why were you having a bad day?" she asked Bisi.
"What?" she frowned as she came out of the kitchen with her bottle of water. She picked up the pillow Amina had thrown at her earlier and threw it back at the latter who caught it in time.
"You said earlier that you were having a bad day."
"Oh! Don't worry about it, it's not as bad as yours, just everyday work problem," she waved it off. Bisi was a makeup artist who worked with actors and actresses, although not a celebrity, she aspired to work with A-list movie stars.
"Don't worry ehn everything will work out in the end," Bisi reassured Amina, "and if it doesn't you can just shake your booty, booty for him," she did a little twerk which made Amina howl with laughter.
"Get out of here, fool."
