CHAPTER 10 MILE'S POV I'm now back at the pack house, waiting for Ella to call me. I've sent her messages to call me, but by the lack of responses, she's obviously ignoring me. "It's going to be okay." Elliot said as he handed me a bottle of beer. I took it and sculled back on it. I needed something to loosen me up, even if it was from Elliot's liquor cabinet. To think of it, Ella and Lola haven't been talking to each other. Elliot and Lola have been hanging out together around the pack ever since Ella and Lola stopped talking. "What's on your mind?" Elliot asked as he sat on the sofa on the other side of the couch, with he's leg on the other while resting he's hand on the sofa. "I was just thinking of how close you and Lola have gotten." I say absentmindedly as I take another scull of the beer, now empty. That's when Elliot choked on he's drink as he he's face became pure red, either from choking or blushing. I vote the second option. "What are you talking about!?" Elliot asks with a tone, I just chuckle at my flustered Alpha brother as I get more comfortable on the couch. "The whole 2 weeks Lola and Ella were not talking to each other, you came in as Lola's Knight And Shining Armour." I say with sarcasm dripping over the last bit, while making fake googly eyes. He just scoffs and shakes he's head as he puts he's bottle on the coffee table. "Lola is like a little sister." He argues back. "Anyone would mistake you to be mates." I chuckle, thinking about how funny it would be for those 2 to become lovers. "And what's wrong with that." Elliot snaps back with a tone. He's offended, but why? "Because you have a mate out there, and Lola isn't your mate." I protested. Elliot didn't look like he was taking me serious, so I continued to push it. I don't know if it was the liquor or the fact my brother irritated me right now. I mean mates are a serious thing, you can't just fool around until they show up. It's disrespectful. "Elliot." I said with a calmer tone. "You can't lead Lola on, no matter if you have feelings for her or not. I mean once your mate comes then Lola will-" "Will be my Luna." He cuts off. My jaw dropped and my eyes went wide. What the f**k was he saying? "What?" I asked, still shocked of what he said. He just looked at me. The look that said, she's mine. I shook my head in disbelief. "If Lola was your mate, then you would of claimed her already. You, you would of at least told someone." I said as I got up, angry with my brother, even if I had no right. "You could of at least told me!" "She's human, Miles." He snapped back as he got up and threw the bottles in the bin. "My mates human!" I snapped back, still shocked about the news. That's when he turned back to me from behind the kitchen bench, he glared at me as he scoffed and shook he's head. "I'm beginning to think you've forgotten all about our enemies." That's right. We weren't apart of a peaceful pack, but one filled with enemies more then allies. I forgot all the dangers my mate could of been through, seeing she's more fragile then us. More easier to kill then us. I let out a deep breathe of guilt. "You were protecting her." I said as I slumped in one of the kitchen stools. He let out a small chuckle. "Did you know how hard it was to not claim that feisty kako." He said as he slumped in the stool next to me. " I had to tame every muscle in me, just so I knew I wouldn't take her right then and there." I looked at my brother. That's when I notice the dark circles under he's eyes, the messy hair. And now to mention it, he's office was a mess. And here I was the one feeling sorry for myself, while Elliot had to control he's wolf from claiming their mate. And to keep it a secret from everyone. Just the thought of your mate not noticing you hurt like a knife in the wound. I guess it was harder for Elliot, seeing the fact that Alpha's were more possessive over there mates. That's when I jolted up out of my seat in panic. Elliot looked over at me concerned. "What's wrong?" I looked over at him, with my eyes still wide at realisation. "Ella left to go some where she wouldn't tell me, and Lola's not here with you?" He soon caught on to what I was saying. By the stories Ella tells me, we both knew they were both out there doing something dangerous. I guess it would be fine if we didn't have people/wolves trying to kill us. By the affection I give Ella in public, it wouldn't be hard for someone to spread the rumour of my mate being human. Which would be an easy target. My anxiety and heart beat went up. "It's okay, Miles. We'll find her." He said putting he's hand on my shoulder. "Both of them." I just nodded, as we both walked out of the pack house. 'We need pack warriors looking out for Ella and Lola.' I heard Elliot say over the pack Mind-link. There was some confusion about why our pack was looking 2 human girls, but being submissive to their Alpha. They agreed. Me and Miles then decided our wolves was the faster way to find them. So, ditching the car we shifted and ran through the woods. Hoping that our mates were okay. ********DREAM*********** I soon woke up in pool full of sweat. Wait, that was all a dream? I sat up on the couch looking around, everything was a dream? "Miles." I heard Elliot say as I got up from the sofa and walked over to he's demanding voice. "Yeah?" I said still tired, as I yawned. I stopped at he's open office door, as the site of Lola and Ella sitting in he's office. "Ella." I said as I ran over to her, where she was sitting on one of the seats. "What's wrong?" I ask Elliot as I look back over towards him, still not moving from my mate's side. "These 2." He said as he showed me he's computer screen. It showed Lola luring some of our men out into the woods, then she started to trap them and tie them up. While Ella just stood there, not having any part of it. "2?" I asked with a smirk on a raised eyebrow. "All I see is your mate terrorising the pack members." "Mate?" Elliot snapped back confused. s**t, I forgot that was just a dream. A weird dream. "Nothing." I coughed as I turned back to see my mate. She just rolled her eyes and ignored me. And it felt like a knife straight to the heart. I miss my mate's affection. "Well." Elliot said, breaking up the awkward tension. "Seeing that Ella, and Kako are here. You 2 will be staying the night, and transported back tomorrow morning." 'Show them back to the guest room they had before.' Elliot ordered through the mind-link. I wanted to take my mate to her room. Oh for f**k sake, I wanted her to sleep in my bed to be honest. I wanted to hold her and apologise for hurting her. But right now she won't even look at me, led alone show affection to me. I dropped my head down low as I walked out of the office and towards my room for the night. "You know you keep calling me cake, and it's weird." I heard Lola say before I went into my room. Blocking the rest of the sounds from the pack. Tomorrow is a new day. Maybe things will get better then, maybe she'll even forgive me...
