CHAPTER 2 ELLA'S POV Me and Lola have been sitting in the woods waiting for any sign of a wolf. At first I was nervous and scared, but an hour went by and those thoughts died as a theory popped in my head. What if those rumours weren't true? What if this 'Adventure With Lola' was just a 'False Advertisement'. That girl could of lied, and Lola could of bought it like a baby with candy. And me being her best friend, well I'm dragged along to all these 'fun advents.' "Lola there's nothing here, and I'm getting tired." I whined as I nudged her elbow. "Oh, come on. you just have to wait." She replied while not taking her eyes off of the view in front of us. I rolled my eyes, about to protest until we heard a growl. 'What the fudgy biscuits was that!' I thought as my face went pale, and my throat went dry. "There it is." Lola said as she jumped up on her feet from our laying position and pointed at the huge dark wolf. That's when the wolf looked over at us, looking over at me. It was studying me. Looking at me as if I was someone the wolf knew. Strange. I gulped and went to go grab Lola's arm, to tell her I wanted to go home now, but when I went to reach, she wasn't there. "Lola?" I was now panicking. Lola was no where around. That's when I heard her yell. Not from fright or help. But...freedom. She was laughing as she ran. No, correction, chased the wolf. I can't believe what I was witnessing. My best friend chasing down a huge wolf while yelling with joy. I couldn't help but chuckle, until the realisation hit me. My best friend is chasing a large wolf in the dark. I once read wolves stay in packs, meaning she's provoking a pack. That's when my admiration for this girl left me. She was f*****g crazy! "Lola!" I yelled as I got up and started chasing after her. "Stop! Lola!" I kept yelling, but this girl was just too damn quick for me. I had to stop at some point to catch my breath, this girl was wearing me out. I took in a deep breath as I leaned my hands over my knees to try and calm my breathing and heartbeat. That's when I heard it. My head snapped to the sound of the broken branches, only for a large wolf to be seen. This wolf wasn't like the other one. This one has white clean fur, that has me tempted to touch it. The other wolf had dark chocolate fur. One that made you think he was dangerous. I gulped as I stepped a bit back while putting my hands up in surrender. "Hey there, big guy." I had no clue what the fudge I was doing, but what other option did I have in this situation? "Was that your friend?" I asked, I don't know why though. It's not like he can reply to me. He's wolf for fudge sakes! I then looked over to the direction to where Lola and the dark wolf ran off too. "My friend didn't mean to scare him, sometimes she can be a bit.... to enthusiastic when she sees something that catches her eye?" That sounded more like a question then an explanation. That's when the wolf did something that had my heart beat pumping fast. He moves closer to me, to the point where he's nose is nudging my underarm. 'Does he want me to pat him?' Confused, I obliged and start to pat him. Woah, he's fur is amazing. But my thought is caught off to an end when I realise I'm patting a fudging wolf while my bestie is going Tarzan on the other wild wolf. "Hey, you don't know where my friend went off to, do you?" Surprisingly he looks at me and nods. Wait a second! Did this wolf really understand what I was saying? I hold back my shock while trying to see if he could help me. Strange, I know. But what other chance do I have to finding my friend at 1 in the morning. "Can you take me to her?" At first he's eyes are clouded, as if he's doing something. But then it goes back to those green hazel eyes. He nods and puts he's head down low. I'm gonna take a quick guess and say he wants me on top of him. I swallow down all doubts, and cover it with determination to find my crazy friend. That's when I get on he's back, and just like that we speed off though the dark woods. 2 minutes later we are now standing in front of a house, a large house. One that could fit 40 families here, including the drunken uncles and the long lost cousins. I'm impressed. The house is beautiful. That's when multiple wolves the same size come near me and the white one I'm on top off. They don't attack but juts nod. A sign of respect? But why in the hill billies would there be so much wolves in front of a large house, in the middle of gosh dang nowhere!? I swallow my questions that run wildly in my thoughts as I tug tighter on the wolf's fur. That's when I see her. See Lola cursing at...men? I then jump of the wolf's back and sprint all the way to Lola, where she is surrounded by men. "Stay back!" I warn as I stand in front of Lola, being a shield. The men don't do anything but chuckle. "Let us go, you can't keep us here because your little mutt secret is out!" Lola snaps, making me curious. "What secret?" I asked confused. That's when my answer shows up in front of me, as I see the white wolf shift back to the guy I've been seeing around lately. I gasp as I see him stand there, he looks scared. but also on stand by. Standing by, as if ready to fight at any moment. It's intense and scary. MILE'S POV I watch her, I watch what is going through her eyes. What she's feeling. But I can tell by her pale face that she's frighten. I shouldn't of came out of the trees when I saw her earlier. But my i***t brother kept telling me I had to claim her. That's how it goes. Once you find your mate, you claim them right then and there. But my mate is human, but that doesn't mean I love her any less. It just means she has some history to catch up on, that is if she doesn't reject me, or leave me. But Elliot, my brother and Alpha. Saw her huddling near another girl, they looked like they were looking for something. That's when Elliot told me it was my chance to talk to her, to my beautiful mate. But I told him no, that is wasn't the right time, but him Elliot being the ignorant brother went and lured my mate's friend towards the pack house. And now we stand here, all watching each other, waiting to see each other's next move. I imagined she would run away because of fright, or faint from disbelief of the situation occurring around her. But instead she took a deep breath. I could hear her heart beat fastening as she just watched me. "It's you." Was all she said as she never took her eyes off mine. I didn't move, but nodded my head as I sign of 'yes'. Me having anxiety in this moment was an understatement. I really had no clue what was going on, what she will do next. What if my mate leaves me? I wouldn't be surprised.
