Chapter 2

Tension

After devising their plans, they put them into action. They forcefully made Serene dress up in a mini gown and applied some makeup to her face, making her look astonishing. Aline glared at her with jealousy and envy and soon calmed herself down.

"What's the use of being so beautiful? You're just going to become someone who plays things."

She looked at Serene and clicked her tongue before walking out.

Serene looked at herself in the mirror and thought she was beautiful. Looking at herself again, she had a bad feeling in her heart. She has at least a little idea of what they were planning; she secretly prayed.

On getting there, Aline pretended to follow her but soon left after making sure Serene was inside the club house. She smiled and laughed evilly.

Serene stood at the door frame and did not go inside. She ran to the bathroom after seeing some people shift to their animal form.

Vinn and Karl wondered where the mate was, but only Vinn kept his thoughts to himself,while Karl, who is constantly seeking death with his mouth,.

"Vinn,are you sure that the Alpha isn't lying?" Feeling Vinn's warning gaze, he chose to ignore it and continue expressing his thoughts.

"I mean, where exactly is the mate? I thought the alpha was supposed to be the mate."

He felt a sharp gaze on him. To Lycanthropes and werewolves,not having a mate was taboo.

A mate was something once in a lifetime; that's why all werewolves and lycans are more possessive of their mates than other creatures.

Vinn moved away from Karl as if washing his hands and leaving only him to die.

"Don't ever involve me in your stupidity," he warned.

Karl grimaced, "Don't we have the right to freedom of speech?"

Aurelius growled, which made both Vinn and Karl silent.

Serene's face became flushed after taking the drink a waitress offered her, not knowing she had already collided with Aline.

She starts walking unsteadily. She hears footsteps from behind her and the voices of two men. She quickly knocked on the door. The footsteps seem to be getting closer just as the men were about to turn a large hand.

Serene was trapped between the wall and the person in the dark; she could hear the rapid breathing of the person. And when the man leaned in, Serene flet her heart race uncontrollably; her face was so heated that I could actually burn someone. She tried to close the gap between herself and the man.

The person seems to have noticed her movement and moved away a little, but Serene grabbed his arm.

"You are not in the right mind." A magnetic voice rang in her ears, making her more desperate to feel his touch.

Serene leaned in and gave the man a kiss,but the man was resistant. She whined and tried to get closer. Serene knew she was drugged but couldn't fight against the effects of the drug.

The man moved away from Serene and went to pour himself a drink,trying to retrain himself from doing something he would regret, and so would Serene.

Serene hugged him from behind and clung to him like a koala bear. The man tried to remove her grip but failed. He sighed and tried to coax her, but failed too.

His veins were bursting from his head and his hands as he tried to overcome the temptation right in front of him.

"Please let go of me,please," the man pleaded with urgency in his voice.

Serene shakes her head rigorously, meaning "no."

"Although she's my mate, I can do anything without her permission," he repeatedly consoled himself.

As he tried to move Serene's body from his, he brushed her chest area, making Serene's body jolt with a strange current that even he could feel. The mate bond was pulling him like crazy.

The last string of control snapped. He leaned closer and covered her lips with his.

At first, the kiss was slow,but he soon accelerated his speed, kissed her like crazy, and only broke the kiss to let her breathe. He continued with his actions repeatedly before slowly laying her on the bed. Serene's mind seems to be clouded with pleasure and has momentarily forgotten about reality.

Somewhere else Aline received a call that Serene was missing, and she angrily threw her phone.

"That evil b***h! How dare she escape?"

Her mother heard her voice and came to get up on her. Seeing her daughter red from anger,she inquired about the problem,but soon joined her to cuss at Serene.

"That brat! I should have killed her when she was little."

She slowly calmed herself. "But that's not a problem."

Aline looked at her mother, wondering what she was thinking.

Curry held her daughter's arm. "Don't tell your dad that the plan failed."

Aline stared at her mom in confusion. Curry's lips curled upwards, and she looked at the confused Aline.

"We'll still go ahead with the plan; we don't have to

Aline nodded her head. Curry called the maid to clean up the mess Aline made.

Still inside the club house,Vinn sat down while seriously working on his tablet while Karl played cards with some ladies who went crazy over how handsome we were. Karl tried to be humble but failed. He gave Vinn a snug smile, who rolled his eyes at him and continued working.

After talking relentlessly to Vinn, who completely ignored his existence, he decided to get himself a drink when he met the dragon people.

He mind linked Vinn, "Is Vincent Regulus here?"

Vinn paused his work. "No, why are you asking?"

The carefree Karl replaced his friendly look with a serious one: "I'm seeing Rem and Lim from the dragon faction here."

Vinn dropped his tablet and simply replied, "I'm coming.".

Rem, being Vincent's third in command in Vincent's territory, sensed Karl's unfriendly gaze and came over to greet him.

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

Karl eyed him. "Since when did we become friends to ask about each other?" Karl replied sarcastically.

Lim, being the serious one, pushed his glasses upwards and said to Karl, "Don't mind, Rem,we came here for business and not to fight with anyone."

"Good thing you know that," Vinn replied with his laptop in his hands.

"Woah! This is quite big. Since when did the Lycans and Dragon become friends?" Luke,Atticus's second in command,sneered.

Vinn and Karl growled at him.

"Mind your business, they chorused together and then glared at each other.

"I feel something isn't right here, Vinn." Karl mid-linked him when he felt something was fishy.

"You feel it too," Vinn said, more like a statement than a question.

Seeing the second and third in command of the lycans, vampires, and dragons, they glare fiercely at each other. If glaring at somebody could kill, everybody in that area, including themselves, would have dropped dead.

The normal people in the room felt like a gang war was going to happen in the room that night; hopefully they all parted ways and almost killed each other, giving the people a strange relief.

The next morning, Serene walked aimlessly and finally found herself at her house. Standing in front of the door,she felt like her whole world was falling apart. She hurriedly left the room last night without checking the man's face.

Every step she took felt heavy. On getting to the door step, she was welcomed with a slap.

"PAK"

"You ungrateful child, you went outside and disgraced my family,you little w***e," Liam cussed at her after giving her the slap.

Serene felt her head spin. With the cloth she wore, red marks were all over her body. Just seeing it would give someone an idea of what happened.
