***Tobias’s POV***
As Ivy floated through the rock wall and disappeared, I felt the connection between our bond disappear. I felt Miles going crazy in the back of my head
We should have gone with her. Why did you let her go on her own? He growled in the back of my head trying to come forward.
Miles we couldn’t have gone with her, she held my hand and I couldn’t see what she was seeing. They only wanted. You need to calm down. Your freaking out is not helping the situation. We need to trust in our mates. Miles continues to pace in the back of my head.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I flinch away.
“Sorry.” Brittney says, taking her hand off me.
“No it’s okey. I’m just a bit worried about Ivy, I can’t feel our bond anymore.” Brittney looks at me and smiles
“Tobias Ivy will be fine, she is tougher than you think. She will not let anyone, or anything hurt her or your pups.” I took in a deep breath, trying to calm myself and Miles down. We heard an air piercing scream and a howl. I knew as soon as I heard it, it was Ivy. I rushed over to the rock wall and started banging trying to get through, but it was no use. I roared and continued to bang on the rocks.
“Tobias stop! You're making the cave shake, the rocks are starting to come down.” Rachelle shouted over my roars and the splashing of the rocks in the water.
“No, I will not leave her here!” Miles and i said at the same time.
“Tobias, we have to go now, please, we will come back. Ivy is safe where she is.” Rachelle tried to grab onto me, but I growled at her. Nick moved in front of her protectively thinking I would hurt his mate. I moved away from her, not wanting to hurt her as I couldn't control Miles any longer. I couldn't leave her here. I needed to get to Ivy.
“Tobias!” Brittney grabs hold of my shoulders and turns me to face her. I could feel my claws extending as Miles was trying to come forward, wanting to hurt anyone that tried to stop us from getting to our mate. In the corner of my eye I saw Ethan tense up getting ready to jump into action just incase I did anything to hurt his Mate.
“We have to leave now. Ivy is safe, but we won’t be if we stay here.” I could feel power rolling off of Brittney and it shocked me into calming down. How could she do that? I shook my head needed to concentrate on getting Ivy back.
“I can't leave her here Brittney.” I could feel Miles starting to shift and the look of worry in Brittney’s eyes confirmed it. I had finally los control of him now and could feel my body shifting under her touch.
"Brittney move away from him now, he has lost control of Miles." Ethan shouted over the nose of the cave coming down.
"No he needs help, we need to get him out of hear." She replied back, Something flashed in her eyes and she looked down at the crystal around her neck. She let go out my shoulders and I turned back toward the wall trying to get through it. I felt something fall around my neck, I looked down and saw that Brittney had taken off her necklace and placed it around me.
“What are you doing?” I said, trying to rip the crystal off.
“Just trust me.” She said in a quiet voice pressing the crystal into my chest. I saw her eyes light up and was shocked. What the f*ck is going on? How does she have powers? As soon as the crystal touched my skin, I felt the bond between Ivy and myself come back to life. I could feel that Ivy and Ciara were safe and unharmed. I felt Miles relax and move to the back of my mind trying to connect with Ciara. I breathed out a sigh as the power of the crystal calmed me down.
“See she is safe Tobias. I’m sorry, but we have to leave now!” I looked around and saw what was happening. The cave was slowly starting to come down around us, if we didn't leave now we would be trapped or killed. I moved into the boat more and sat down. Alpha Rawiri and Ethan started rowing turning us around towards a small entree on the otherside of the cave.
"There is a tunnel over there that should take us back to the entre." He said as we pulled up beside a small opening. Nick got out first and helped the girls climb out of the coneo, he followed behind then and the rest of us followed. We made our way as fast as we could through the tunnel, it was a tight squeeze but we eventually came out near the entree to the caves. As we raced towards the exit I noticed the rocks above us starting to crumble.
"We need to move now!" I shouted to everyone as we made it out of the tunnel, we all raced out of the caves just before the rocks could trap us in. I sunk to my knees and howled as I saw the entrance covered by rocks. No one would be able to get in or out of there. I prayed to the Moon Goddess that Ivy was okay.
“Over here!” Nick shouted and I looked over towards him to see him crouched down in front of something. I stood up and rushed over to him. Ivy was sitting steering at a rock. I crouched down behind her and pulled her close to my body. She gasped and looked around.
“Ivy baby, are you okay? What happened?” I wrapped her in my arms tighter and breathed in her scent to calm myself and Miles down.
“I’m okay love, I’m fine.” I moved my hand to her face and pulled her towards me, kissing her deeply.
“Don’t you ever do that again.” I growled, wrapping my arms around her again.
“Tobias, you're squashing me.” She squeaked and I released my grip around her a little and she smiled up at me.
“Look what I have.” She held up the diamond blade. I looked at her in shock.
“Ivy, how did you get that?” I asked not knowing how she was able to get it.
“This cave is the doorway to Ruawehe, I had to say something in order to be able to see Papatūānuku. I explained why we needed the blade and she gave it to me, but she also said that if we use it, it would come with a price.” I scowled down at her.
“What price?”
“She doesn’t know, she just said that using it will come at a price.” I sighed and shook my head.
“So no matter what we do to protect our family, it will come with a price either way? Ivy, I don’t think we should use this then, what if that price is something bad like losing you or the pups? We can’t risk that.” She placed her hand on my check.
“Tobias, we don’t have a choice, love. It's either I get taken by Jack or we use this and pay the price. Either way, we will lose something and I am hopeful that the blade will help us. We will all be safe. We have to stop Jack before he hurts anyone else. Please love just trust me, Selene would not have mentioned this if something bad was going to happen.”
She has a point, Tobias. Miles said, wagging his tail happily, that he had his mate in his arms again.
Shut up Miles. I grumbled back to him.
“Fine but we use it only if it is necessary.” I said scowling at the Blade like it would take her away from me.
“Fine.” Ivy says, rolling her eyes at me. I help her stand to her feet.
"Everyone is waiting for us by the SUV’s". I said, guiding her over to the cars. As soon as Ivy and I come into view, Brittney and Rachelle run over to us, wrapping their arms tightly around Ivy. I grumbled that others were touching her, she hit me in the stomach and I held my hands up in surrender, walking over to Nick.
“Are you okay, what happened in there?” Rachelle asked Ivy as she pulled away.
“You look exhausted.” Brittney said at the same time. They chuckled at each other and I turned to talk to Nick and Ethan.
“She found the diamond blade.” I said to them. They both looked at me in shock.
“How?” Alpha Rawiri asked as he was coming up behind me.
“This cave is the doorway to Papatūānuku. Apparently she was waiting for Ivy. She knew that she was looking for the blade, but what we didn’t know is that the blade comes with a price if it is used, we don’t know if the price is good or bad.” Nick placed his hand on my shoulder.
“Tobias, everything will be fine. The Moon Goddess wouldn’t have told Ivy about the Blade if it was anything bad.”
“Yeah, that's what Ivy said.” I felt arms wrap around my waist and then the spark erupted all along my body.
“Shall we head off love, I need a nap.” Ivy said, stepping in front of me. I smiled and nodded at her. We all hopped into the car and headed back to the Pack. We thanked Alpha Rawiri and Luna Tia for helping us find the blade and we headed back to the house.
“Love I'm going to take a shower and lie down.” Ivy kisses my cheek and heads in the direction of our room.
Tobias, I need a run. Miles said, pacing in the back of my head.
Okay, let me see if the others want to come. I could feel the need to let off some of the anger that still lingered when Ivy disappeared into the cave.
“Hey, did you guys want to go for a run. I have too much anxiety and anger in my system from what happened today and I won’t be able to sleep if I don’t go for a run.” They nodded their heads, and we headed into the woods just behind the house.
