Chapter 4 : Back to square one

642 Words
It had been almost two weeks since Hailey and Sebastien did not spoke to each other. They haven't utter a word to each other since the kiss. Sebastian had been away on a business trip and Hailey had spent most of her time shopping with Lilianna. Taking a sip of his wine, Sebastian spoke 'I'm starting to think that she really doesn't remember anything' 'Oh she does' The man in front of him replied 'Believe me. She's only pretending to have forgotten' 'I don't think so' Sebastian replied. 'You are the one forgetting how much she hurt you. You want to forgive her because you're blindly in love with her. But trust me dude, this b***h hasn't forgotten anything. And don't worry I'll prove it to you before tonight' was the reply ************************************************************************************* Lilliana and Hailey were watching their favorite TV show when James came in. 'Good morning ladies' He said, taking a bottle of water from the fridge. 'Oh honey you're back!' Lilliana exclaimed, planting a soft kiss on his cheek. 'So how was the trip?' Hailey asked. 'Not bad' James replied 'We met Isabella there and Seb insisted on- Ouch!! What was this for?' He asked, rubbing his arm. But when he saw Lilliana glaring at him realization hit him. 'Well, Isabella is - hmm Sebastian's hmm- 'Girlfriend' Hailey said completing the sentence for him. 'I've seen pictures of them kissing in the drawer at the beach house' She tried to explain on seeing the confusion and shock on their face. 'It's not like Seb really like her. I know it looks like they are together but this is only what the press says. You really should not believe everything found on the newspaper or on the internet or magazine.' James told her in an attempt to comfort her. 'And I bet he is going to break up with her soon' Lilliana added. 'If he had wanted to do so, he should have done it before the wedding' Hailey reasoned. 'But as I've told you before our wedding is just a sort of business contract for him'. 'Of course not. He loves you. Don't forget that he even kissed you publicly at the beach' Lilliana pointed out. 'It's not what you think 'Hailey sighed 'but anyway, I've made cupcakes. Do you want some?' Hailey asked trying to lighten the situation. They both nodded. The same day at night Hailey was tugging her wavy hair into a ponytail when Sebastian came in. 'So how was the trip?' She could not help asking. 'Why do you care?' He asked, clearly irritated. 'I just wanted to know, that's all' She replied. 'Don't forget about the party tonight.' How could I forget about this? Hailey thought. It was on the occasion of Mr. Dominic Ryders' 70th birthday that the party was going to be held. Hailey knew that it was going to be a very grandiose one and it was obvious that many great personalities were going to attend it. Thinking about the huge number of guests that were to come was enough to make her feel sick. 'And try to be a bit polite, I know this concept is completely alien to you but I guess Lilliana would be glad to help you' Sebastian said, snapping her out of her thoughts. 'I may be poor but I'm certainly polite' Hailey snapped with fire sparkles in her eyes. 'Oh kitten, I'm really sorry' Sebastian replied, his voice laced with sarcasm. ' I forgot that you were once an arrogant spoilt b*tch' 'Why don't you try to know me before judging?' 'I know a lot about you honey, more than you imagine' He replied venomously, 'And soon everybody is going to learn the truth about you. Just be patient love' He said before exiting the room and closing the door violently, causing a loud Bang.
