Chapter 3 : Waking disaster

Sebastian signed in relief as turned off the engine. Not a second through the ride did Hailey and Lilliana stop talking. From clothes and fashion to movies and hollywood, he had to bear it all. "Let's go" Lilliana pushed the door open and jumped out, swatting her jeans as her huband James came to her side. His red SUV was parked right beside Sebastian's black one. Cautiously, Hailey stepped outside. The wind was warm against her skin, red curls brushed along her cheecks from her loose bun. She tucked them behind her ear, walking to where the others were standing. Uneasiness crept through as she neared them. She gulped. Just then, Her mother-in-law, caught sight of her.
She squealed " Darling! How are you?" as she engulfed Hailey in a hug.
" I'm good" Hailey croaked, returning the hug.
" God Cressida! You're strangling her!" A deep voice chuckled behind them. A small giggle left Cressida's lips as she let go of Hailey.
" How about you uhm --"
Noticing her panicked expression, Cressida laughed " Just call Cressy and yes I'm good too" She added with a soft smile.
" And this is my husband James" Added Lilliana who was watching them with an amused smile all this time.
Hailey turned towards the tall blond man "It's a pleasure to meet you"
A small laughter escaped James lips " Drop the formalities! We're family!
Lilliana was about to say something when Cassy began shooing them "Go change already!"
Hailey was pulled behind the black car. Holding a large towel in front if her, Lilliana ushered " Change" giving her a small pink bikini. Hailey knew there was no point in arguing. She could see her mother in law's red sliders behind Lilliana's blue ones. She closed her eyes and let her jeans fall at her feet and stepped out of them. A groan escaped her lips as she read what was written in white on the front of the swimwear " Feline".
"I'm done" She croaked soon after. The towel fell and she felt a sudden urge to run into the car behind her but Lilliana grabbed her hands " Now look who's bringing sexy back!" Hailey smiled although knowing deep inside that she was no where near being sexy. Lilliana squeezed her hands " You look gorgeous"
Hailey swallowed, beaming " Let's go".
As they neared the water, Hailey could feel the others eyes on her, but she kept her gaze low, stepping into the water carefully. She shivered as a wave crashed at her feet. The water was ice cold. "Just dive in" James hollered and beside her Lilliana was quick to obey. The water splashed around Hailey as Lilliana ran and jump in, leaving her behind. Hesitently, she moved forward, until the water reached the top of her chest. Taking a deep breath, she lifted her head, suddenly more confident to meet the other's eyes as most of her body was hidden beneath the turqoise blue water. But no one was looking at her. James was laughing as he sent a jet of water at Lilliana who screamed and retaliated, she looked around but Cassy was no where to be seen. She let her yes wander a little more until she caught sight of Sebastian. He emerged from the water not too far from her and rubbed his face, his cheeks faintly pink. Hailey took a long breath a let it out slowly and let her body fall. Her face tingled as it hit the face. She closed her eyes, allowing the waves to engulf her. Her whole body came to life, her head empty, her body being carried by the soft waves.
She felt free and peaceful-" Until her head bumped against something. Her eyes shot open, and she jumped from the water just in time to catch a blurry figure turning towards her. She struggled to stay at the surface but her body was too alarmed to cooperate. She swallowed a mouthful of salt water as a wave crashed against her. Panic rose inside her as two hands gripped her waist and yanked her up the surface.
Sebastian tried hard to keep the scowl on his face as he lifted Hailey from the water. He pressed his lips in togerther but could not help the small laughter that escaped his lips as Hailey coughed and rubbed her eyes. Gently, he brought her closer to him. She gripped his shoulders for support as he rubbed her back. Hailey sighed as the coughing ceased. Unconciously, she leaned her head on his right shoulder and felt a hand brush through her now tangled red hair. " You really are a walking disaster" He whispered, his tone teasing.
" I'm sorry" Hailey muttered her voice so low he barely caught it. She felt so ashamed, she wanted to disappear.
Sebastian hummed in response and brushed his lips against her wet hair. He decided to let his guard down for now and just enjoy the feeling of this hot little mess in his arms. Slowly, Hailey raised her head and met his gaze. Sebastian brushed red strands from her face gently, and caressed her cheek with his thumb. Hailey closed her eyes, her heart hammering in her chest as the hot fingers moved to her chin, gently tilting it up. She felt his hot breath on her face and her cheeks flamed but her body moved on its own till she felt something wet brush her bottom lips. She leaned in a little more, wounding both hands around his neck and Sebastian's grip tightened around her waist as their lips met. When the pulled apart, Sebastian brushed his nose against hers and Hailey smiled and hid her face into the hot crook of his neck.
They heard a loud cough from behide them and jerked apart but Sebastian still held her waist. She turned towards the noise.
" Not to disturb you but it's getting late and we need to walk to the beach house to change and have some lunch" Lilliana smiled teasingly.
" You may resume your activities" added James "we're heading there"
" Just come once you're done" Cassy piped in "Take all the time you need" she smirked.
Sebastian rolled his eyes " we're coming" He bend forwards to Hailey "You can swim?"
"Y-yes" Hailey stuttered, beggging the ocean to just swallow her and save her from this embarassment.
