Chapter 1“Magic mirror on the wall…”
Heavenly host Andi and her husband CJ, who was not so long ago a ghost in the realm where monsters spent their immortal eternity, stood in front of an upright cheval mirror onstage at the Brewster Center for the Performing Arts.
“The magic mirror comes in next week,” Andi said, after CJ had uttered the famous line.
Currently, the stage was set for a yuletide performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Scrooge’s four poster bed with layers and layers of light and dark gray linens took up most of one side of the stage. The Cratchit’s stark, barebones Victorian era kitchen, little more than a rickety table, four chairs, a potbelly coal stove, and a tall cupboard was on the other.
