Amelia She felt the bed deepened beside her, and her eyes snapped open immediately, years of being tortured had made a light sleeper, she turned around to see her stepbrother and groaned, his breath stinking of alcohol as he snuggled closer to her. He was drunk again! "Thomas, what_are you doing here?" She shuttered rushing to her feet, but she wasn't fast enough as Thomas forced her back to the bed. He snaked his hands around her waist before forcefully placing a kiss on her neck. "Stop it Thomas," She growled thrashing out of his hold. He tightened his arms around her and pulled her closer to his body. "Be calm for me wolfless, I know you want this." He grinned sheepishly, licking the hallow in her neck. She shivered in disgust, writhing her waist from his hold, but he was stronger than her using her advantage of having no wolf against her. No, she couldn't submit to him just like this, seeing his drowsy eyes, she quickly sunk her teeth into his shoulder blade and a scream tore from him as he released her. "You b***h!" He thundered holding his bloodied arm. She gasped, "I__i didn't mean to." She stuttered an apology while he groaned in pain on the bed. s**t, he was going to kill her. "I'm sorry," Her voice shook before running out of the room. She breathed heavily as she walked away from the room, that was her stepbrother, Amelia lost her mother when she was six so her father had to remarried to Nova, who brought Thomas along with her. Her life had never been the same since then, it had always been from one problem to another, and it only worsened when her father died two years ago. The scent of the cold basement taunted her as she walked in, she had been sleeping here for the past two years. And this night she decided not to, Thomas wanted to take advantage of her again, even though he never succeed, it was tiring to be on run everyday. She lay on the cold floor tired and hungry expecting what her punishment would be the next day. ____ Amelia woke up feeling sore all over her body especially her neck and back, but she didn't have time to dwell on the pain so Thomas wouldn't meet her there, and she needed to got her chores done early before Nova started looking for her, she could endure Thomas's torture but not Nova's. 'That witch of a woman.' She thought. She rose to her feet and was about to open the door when she heard the two familiar voices going on about something. Ana and Lia are the pack's gossipers, they are the mini internet here, and they always hear the latest news first. "I heard Alpha King, the cruelest ugly Alpha wants a bride from our pack." Amelia gasped hearing that, King was the alpha governor, the strongest and cruelest alpha among the alphas. She wondered if that was why he was named King because it sounded absurd to be named King. He had been mateless since he lost his wife, and rumor has it that he killed her. Rumor or not, Amelia knew that he was not someone to mess with, she listened on until something gained her interest. "Alpha already sealed the deal," Lia said then her voice became low as she continued. "He gave him Amelia." Amelia went still after that, her world crashing before her. Thomas offered her to Alpha King without seeking her consent, she knew Thomas was greedy but she didn't know he could do this to her. She flung the door open making the ladies gasp in shock, they weren't expected that she was in, they thought she left for the kitchen already. "Amelia..." She didn't spare them a glance as she took to her heels. She ran out of the palace oblivious to the people yelling her name, she needed to escape. She couldn't let her life be decided by Thomas and his mother anymore. It wasn't enough that they snatched her Alpha title, now they want her life. "Stop, stop right there." She heard her father's guards, now Thomas' screaming behind her, they were getting closer and closer to her. Her soft delicate skin hit different branches as she skipped through the forest. She might not have a wolf but she sure was fast as one, because of her Alpha lineage, her feet hurt so bad from the thorns cutting through her barefooted feet but that never stopped her. "Amelia," They thundered and she jerked at their loud voice, she glanced back and gasped seeing how close they were. She swirled to the front and froze, slumping to the floor at the sudden stop. Thomas was standing at the front holding a long whip, he strode gently but dangerously towards her, a wicked smirk on his face. She crawled back with each step, but she didn't went far when his whip struck her lap, a painful yell leaving her mouth. "I told you to stop." He yelled hitting her covered thigh with the whip, Amelia let out a deep cry shelding the next whip with her back. "Please," Her voice break as shivered on the floor. Thomas glanced at her in disgust before shaking his head. "Take her to the dungeon." He barked at the guards with a hiss, dropping the whip beside her. "The dungeon!" Her eyes widened, "Please not the dungeon," She yelled as the guard grabbed her hair. "Don't hurt her i***t, she is useful." Thomas cautioned shattering her heart all over again, so the only time he cared about her was when she became useful for his selfish gain. "Yes Alpha," The guard bowed, he grabbed her wrist and Amelia winced, his hold was nothing close to being gentle. ____ Amelia jerked awake by the cold water dumped at her, she quickly sat up rubbing the water out of her eyes before glancing up to look at the intruder, she must have falling asleep from crying too much earlier. She crawled back when her eyes met with Thomas whose smile creep her out, something about that smile made her skin crawl. "What...is it?" She shuttered, her voice doing nothing to hide how scared she was. "Prepare your mind for tomorrow, King's beta is coming for you." He announced, not even remorseful that he just delivered the worst news to her. He crouched at her front and held her chin, Amelia shivered at his cold touch. "I suppose you weren't surprised at that." "Why?" She swallowed back her tears. "Why me of all people, why did you sell me to him?" She shook her head and sniffed. "No, no I'm not going, you can't decide my life!" She thundered the last sentence, shocking them both. Amelia wondered where she gained her confidence, maybe because she knew he wasn't going to hurt her, or because she was tired of enduring it all. She watched as he gritted his teeth, his claws elongating. He trailed his claws down her cheeks and she shivered. "You should be grateful he won't like new scars on you, you would have regretted ever shouting at me." He spit on her face before grabbing her hair. She winced loudly and he smiled hearing that. "You don't have a choice, my darling sister." He grinned leaving her hair before locking his harsh gaze with hers. "Alpha King is going to ruin this pack if you refuse to go with him, we already signed the deal with him, remember how valuable this pack is to your father, did you want his hard work to go down the drain? Did you want the people to become Alpha King's slave?" Amelia became speechless following his words, she shut her eyes and tears rolled out of them. 'She was doing this for her father and the people.' She accepted. Thomas rose to his feet seeing her defeat. "Just what I thought." He laughed walking out.
