she Realized
Saddie stepped nervously into the bustling diner, feeling out of place in her ill-fitting uniform. This was her first job as a waitress, and she desperately needed the money for her brother's operation. She took a deep breath and tried to steady her shaking hands. As she made her way to her first table, a group of rowdy guys caught her eye. One of them, Andrien, was particularly obnoxious, tossing insults her way as she tried to take their order. "Hey, sweetheart, can you hurry it up? We don't have all day," he sneered. Saddie did her best to remain professional, but the constant barrage of insults and snide comments made it difficult to keep her cool. Finally, after an especially cutting remark from Andrien, Saddie snapped. "You know what, I don't have to take this. I quit!" she exclaimed, storming off to the back of the diner. Saddie's boss tried to reason with her, but she was too upset. She gathered her things and made her way outside, feeling defeated and dejected. Just then, her friend Carrie appeared from around the corner, her bright smile lifting Saddie's spirits. "Hey girl, how was your first day?" she asked, noticing the tears in Saddie's eyes. "It was a disaster," Saddie replied, recounting the events of the afternoon. Carrie listened patiently, offering words of encouragement and support. "Don't worry, we'll figure something out," she reassured Saddie. As they walked back to Carrie's apartment, Saddie couldn't help but feel grateful for her friend's kindness. Carrie had taken her in six years ago when her dad kicked her out because of her stepmother, and she had been a constant source of love and support ever since. Later that evening, Saddie received a text from Andrien, apologizing for his behavior and offering her a job as his secretary. Saddie was hesitant, but the thought of her brother's operation spurred her on. She agreed to meet with Andrien the next day to discuss the details. The meeting was uncomfortable, with Andrien making several inappropriate comments and propositions. Saddie did her best to ignore them, focusing on the potential benefits of the job. As she left Andrien's office, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in her stomach. But she pushed it aside, determined to do whatever it took to save her brother's life. Little did she know, her decision would set off a chain of events that would change her life forever. The next day, Saddie arrived at Andrien's office dressed in her best business attire, determined to make a good impression. However, she was shocked to find that her job duties did not include secretarial work at all. Instead, Andrien demanded that she clean his office. "I'm not a janitor, Andrien," Saddie protested. "I agreed to be your secretary, not your maid." Andrien sneered at her. "You're lucky to have a job at all, given your lack of experience and education. If you don't like it, you can leave." Saddie felt her anger rising. She couldn't believe this was happening to her again, after the way he had treated her the day before. "Why are you treating me like I've done something wrong?" she demanded. "What did I ever do to you?" Andrien's expression darkened, and he stepped closer to her until she was backed against the wall. "You'll realize soon enough why I'm doing this," he hissed. Saddie shuddered at the intensity of his gaze and pushed him away, determined not to let him intimidate her. "I don't know what your problem is, but I won't let you treat me like this," she said firmly. Just then, the sound of footsteps interrupted their argument. A tall, dark-haired man walked into the room, his eyes locking onto Saddie's with interest. "Hey, Andrien, sorry to keep you waiting," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "I see you've met my new girlfriend, Richa." Andrien's expression softened as he turned to greet the man. "Of course, how could I forget? Richa, it's nice to meet you. And don't worry, I'll make sure Saddie takes good care of you while I'm in my meeting." Saddie's heart sank as she realized that Andrien's friend had brought his girlfriend to the office, putting even more pressure on her to perform her cleaning duties to perfection. As she worked, Saddie couldn't help but wonder why Andrien was treating her so poorly. She had never done anything to him, and she didn't understand why he was so hostile towards her. Later that day, Saddie received a call from her brother's doctor, informing her that he needed surgery as soon as possible. Saddie's heart sank as she realized that she didn't have enough money to cover the costs. Desperate, she decided to confront Andrien and ask for a raise. She marched into his office, determined to stand up for herself and her family. "Andrien, I need to talk to you," she said firmly, her hands shaking with nerves. Andrien looked up from his paperwork, his expression bored. "What is it, Saddie? I'm busy." "I need a raise," Saddie said, trying to keep her voice steady. "My brother needs surgery, and I can't afford it on my current salary." Andrien raised an eyebrow. "And why should I give you a raise? You've barely been here a week, and you haven't exactly been doing a great job." Saddie felt her anger rising. She couldn't believe he was being so callous about her brother's health. "I'm doing the best I can," she said, her voice trembling. "Please, Andrien, I'm begging you. I need this job, and I need your help." Andrien leaned back in his chair, considering her request. "Alright, I'll give you a raise," he said finally. "But on one condition: you do exactly as I say, no questions asked." Saddie felt a knot form in her stomach. She knew that accepting Andrien's condition could mean trouble, but she felt like she had no other choice. "Okay," she said reluctantly. "What do you want me to do?" Andrien's lips curled into a smirk. "I want you to be at my beck and call, twenty-four hours a day," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "I want you to do whatever I ask, whenever I ask it, without hesitation." Saddie felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. She had a feeling that this was not going to end well. "And what if I refuse?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Andrien's eyes flashed with anger. "Then you can say goodbye to your raise, and your job," he said, his voice cold and hard. Saddie knew she was trapped. She couldn't afford to lose her job, and she couldn't let her brother suffer because of her pride. "Fine," she said, her voice shaking. "I'll do it." Andrien's grin widened. "Excellent," he said, leaning back in his chair. "I knew you'd see things my way eventually." Saddie left the office feeling defeated and humiliated. She couldn't believe she had stooped so low as to accept Andrien's demands, but she didn't know what else to do. All she knew was that she needed to find a way to get out of this situation as soon as possible. That evening, Saddie told Carrie about what had happened at work. Carrie's eyes widened in shock as Saddie explained everything that had transpired. "That's horrible, Saddie," Carrie said, her voice full of concern. "You can't let him treat you like this. You need to stand up for yourself and find a way out of this mess." Saddie nodded, tears streaming down her face. She knew that Carrie was right, but she didn't know how to escape from Andrien's grip. All she knew was that she needed to find a way to save her brother, no matter what it took. As the days went by, Saddie found herself falling deeper and deeper into Andrien's web of manipulation. She worked long hours, running errands for him and catering to his every whim. She had no time for herself, and no time for her family. But then, one day, something changed. As Saddie was leaving Andrien's office late one night, she overheard him talking on the phone with someone. "I don't care what it takes," Andrien said, his voice tense. "I need that deal to go through, no matter what." Saddie's curiosity was piqued. She wondered what deal he was talking about, and why it was so important to him. The next day, Saddie decided to do some investigating. She went through Andrien's files, looking for any information about the deal he had mentioned. Finally, she found a folder with the name of a company she didn't recognize. Saddie did some research, and discovered that the company was known for its unethical business practices. They had been involved in several scandals over the years, and had even been sued by former employees for discrimination and harassment. Saddie's heart sank as she realized the extent of Andrien's involvement with this company. She knew she had to do something to stop him, but she didn't know how. All she knew was that she couldn't let him continue down this path of destruction. And so, Saddie made a decision. She would confront Andrien, and try to convince him to do the right thing. It was a risky move, but she knew it was the only way to save him from himself, and to save.
