Senator Cantor sat down and the rest of the legislature said “amen” along with him. As the clerk called the roll, Michael looked around the 49-seat chamber, admiring the room. Session had been taking place all last week and this week, but he still found himself in awe of the room. The art deco style of the exterior was mimicked on the interior, with white Indiana limestone bricks covering the walls. The galleries, which flanked either side of the room, were held up by thick green, brown, and cream marble pillars.
