“Kade, how can you talk to me like that?!” Tears welled up in Elara’s eyes. She kicked the table leg in disbelief. “You were always so gentle with me until this girl came along. Everything has changed.”
"If you speak kindly to my girlfriend, who I see as my future wife, you will be treated with the same kindness I show to my family."
Kade ignored Elara’s tears. He was clearly used to her theatrics. Silence fell over the dining room.
