Chapter 1
Rosalie's POV I was Alpha's daughter before an unexpected rejection completely screwed up my life. My name is Rosalie Hill, and until a few days ago I was the Alpha heir of the Blood Moon Pack. For the first 18 years of my life, I was surrounded by praise and admiration. Beauty and bravery are my impressions in the hearts of all wolves. My mate, Edmund, whom was granted by the moon goddess, was the son of the Beta in our pack. We grew up together. He was gentle, handsome, with mesmerizing chocolate brown eyes and great strength. I once thought I was the happiest wolf in the world, with parents who doted on me, a pack that embraced me, and a wonderful mate who could stay with me forever. He was the best person to me besides my parents, and I thought we were going to be the perfect couple for everyone, until he defeated my father at the lunar ceremony, took the Alpha's position, and then rejected me ruthlessly in front of everyone. Wasn't he my mate? Weren't we destined for each other? It was obvious that just the day before, I was lying on the grass with him chatting freely about our expectations for the future, so why had everything changed now? "Edmund! Why did you do that?" I gritted my teeth, trying to hold back the tears. "You're too weak, Rosalie." His cold expression tore my heart apart like claws. "In the name of Blood Moon Wolf Alpha, I have banished you three from the pack. Now leave this place as fast as you can." 'No, I don't want it, I want an explanation! I shouted at Edmund, trying to take his hand, only to have him swat it away viciously, with no mercy. Instead of pressing him on the reason for his power grab, my parents pulled the heartbroken me away and stuffed me into the car. We left the packhouse where we had been living, my home. And what happened after that is a shadow that I will never be able to erase for the rest of my life. It's a nightmare. My parents stuffed me into the car so decisively. At this point I was so devastated that I couldn't cry anymore. I looked up at my father with tears in my eyes. He was such a proud Alpha, betrayed by his daughter's mate... He showed no anger but rather a heavy face, even my mother, who was always gentle and dignified. But at that time I did not notice these details, I grabbed my father's hand and pleaded , "Dad, please, let me go see Edmund, he clearly loves me. There must be some misunderstanding between us. Please don't stop me, let me find him and talk clearly! My father said nothing but looked at me quietly, making it clear that he would not let me see Edmund. I was unwilling to give up. I turned to my mother again. "Mom, you know, the two of us are truly in love, Edmund he can't do such a thing, he must have his own hardship, I wanna go to ask for clarification!" A tear quietly slipped from the corner of my mother's eye. She shook her head, as if unwilling to see me in pain, moved her eyes away from my face and turned out the window. Neither my father nor my mother supported my going back to Edmund. I was in such great pain, gritting my teeth, and yanked open the door when they weren't looking. I tried to jump out of the car, only to be dragged back by my father. As the former top Alpha of the Blood Moon Wolf Pack, his response speed was indeed above mine. "Rosalie, you're crazy! "Father yelled. Mother also looked at me disapprovingly, "The car is going so fast, aren't you afraid of getting hurt by jumping straight down?" I took her hand and placed it over my heart. "But mom, my heart has been torn apart, how could Edmund say something so cold, no! he must not be Edmund, I'm going to find ......" "That's enough, Rosalie! You are not going back, and from now on you will stay in the car until we find a safe place to stay!" I didn't get to finish my sentence before my father coldly used the power of his Alpha to make me submit. This is the treatment I have never received in all my years of life. He had never used alpha power on mee, for a moment, I was completely unable to react, dumbfounded, looking at him: "Father?" "Stay well in the car while your mother and I will take a drive and think about where we're going to settle down next." His tone was strong and I knew I couldn't change his decision, but wanted to struggle a little more. "But!" He sighed softly. "Honey, can't you see? You have sobbed yourself hoarse, stop shouting and keep your spirits up. Even if there are no more wolves, your mother and I can still give you a home." I have to say, I was too tired to cry. I leaned half-paralyzed in the car, listening to my father and mother in the driver's seat discuss the next course of action, and soon fell asleep amid their whispers. All of a sudden, the car braked sharply and the sleeping me leapt straight out due to inertia, almost injured. I rubbed my eyes and noticed that they were looking ahead with serious expressions. I hurriedly poked my head out and asked, "Mom and Dad, what happened?" "Rosalie," my mother said calmly, "Get out of the car and follow me and your father. Don't be afraid." "What's the matter?" Puzzled, I looked at my mother and then out the window. I then realized we were surrounded by a pack of werewolves. I was very uneasy, but it was also clear that we seemed to be in some kind of danger. I didn't say much and just quietly got out of the car as my mother had asked. My mother and father pinned me in the middle, shielding me tightly, and I was finally able to get a closer look at the group that surrounded us. They were strange. I could sense that they are all werewolves. Obviously each individual is real, and I can clearly perceive their position. But even though they are not masked, I can't see their faces. What the hell were they? My uneasiness increased to the extreme, and my body tensed up, ready for battle. My father sensed something was wrong, and he directly transformed into a wolf to protect us behind him and roared towards these monster-like werewolves. The werewolves seemed enraged by my father's roar. Opposite one werewolf took the lead in attacking, his speed is not fast, however eerily impossible to anticipate his move in advance, so dad could only passively defend. Under such an attack, wounds soon appeared on my father's body, and his breathing became heavy. I was so anxious that I stepped forward to join the fray, but was stopped dead by my mother. "Rosalie, don't move. There are too many of them for us. I'm going to tear a hole in their circle, and you must seize the time and run forward without looking back, until it is safe, do you understand?" "No! I can fight, too!" No, I didn't want to understand, they were clearly going to sacrifice themselves to protect me! I shook my head wildly, my eyes sore from the tears I'd been crying all day and my whole body was a little dehydrated, "No ...... mom, don't ......" The wolves on the other side, excited to see my father at a disadvantage, hissed and pounced towards me and my mother. Mother turned herself into a wolf, toppling the werewolves at the weakest part of the encirclement with one paw, and then pushed me hard: "Go!" Her words were barely out of her mouth when she received another heavy blow from one werewolf in her chest and spat out a mouthful of blood violently. I was too stunned to speak, the tragedy before me almost broke me. I trembled and tried to make a sound, but I heard my mother shouting for me to run away while slamming into a werewolf who was ready to attack me. Be strong, Rosalie. Be strong. The sacrifices of dad and mom must not be in vain. I gnawed my teeth and turned my head to roll and crawl to leave. Tears could not stop falling. I choked up as I used the mind link to send a message to my parents, "Mom! Dad! Wait for me! Hold on, I'll go get help right away!" Behind me, the sound of hissing and screams of pain almost shattered my eardrums, my heart seemed to have broken into pieces at the moment, the only thing that kept me running forward was my promise to my parents. Hurry up and run, we must find help! Behind me, another werewolf was about to catch up with me, and in the tangle, his sharp teeth bit through my shoulder, with the pleasure of tearing the prey apart in his eyes, I bit back with all my strength, and in my haste, I actually saw his face and his red pupils. I did not have time to think about it, and after seeing that he was no longer capable of chasing me, I continued to run forward desperately. North? West? No, the northwest? Where the hell is our once Blood Moon Wolf Pack now? Weaving through the endless forest, I desperately realized that we were so far away from the Blood Moon Wolf Pack at this point that I couldn't find the pack's location at all. Despair filled my heart. Even my throat oozed blood from running so fast, and my mouth smelled of rust. "Dad, which direction is the location of the Blood Moon wolf pack? Dad?" My father seemed to hear my transmission, but he could not quite hear it. "Rosalie, we are proud of you... Live well... We love you..." "No! Mom, how is Dad, he ......" "Rosalie, I..." I couldn't hear my mother out. The link went down. I completely ran out of energy and my whole body fell to the ground, covering my face and crying. [Amanda, what should we do?] The wolf in my head answered faintly. I knew I couldn't fall asleep now, and if I did, it would be almost impossible to survive, so I racked my brain for conversation. [Tell me, Amanda, is it possible that my parents are still alive but too far away for me to reach them?] I knew it was impossible, but if I didn't even have that to look forward to, I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold out. [I don't know where I'm going next, I heard my mother and father say earlier that they were planning to head north, is there any chance we could meet up on the way?] [...... Amanda, Amanda?] No response. My wolf, completely cut off from me. I completely lost all hope of survival. I lay on the grass, quietly staring at the sky, accompanied by the sound of my heart beating, and fell into a coma. Vaguely, I seemed to perceive a figure appeared around me and was approaching me silently. Darren's POV As the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, I sensed a movement in the woods, so I called my Beta, Douglas, and the advance party of werewolf warriors to enter the forest together. Normally, what happened in the forest, Douglas led a small team can easily solve, often without my presence. However this kind of strange movement seems very uncommon compared to the ones we usually encounter. I scowled as I thought of one possibility. If it turns out to be as I suspected, it would be proof that a crisis was coming... Douglas, who had cleared the way in front of us, jerked to a halt. He raised his hand, signaling the large group behind him to stop. "Darren, there seems to be something not far away." I nodded and swept my gaze over the other wolves in the group, "You guys go ahead and look elsewhere to see if you can get any information." I followed Douglas quickly up to check it out, and what caught my eye was a woman who had fallen in a pool of blood. She looked in pain, her wounds had taken so long to heal that she was bleeding out and probably wouldn't live long. "She feels weak to me, I can crush her with one hand. If nothing else, she should be an ordinary person." Douglas mumbled softly as he walked up, "Strange, have the Rogues fallen so far that they even attack humans?" I shook my head in amusement and paced up and down to follow. As Douglas was about to carry the woman away on his shoulders, she suddenly opened her eyes and ignored Douglas, but fixed me with a deadly stare. Her gaze was unkind, with a raging malice that seemed to tear me apart. Not a human, but ...... a werewolf? I patted Douglas's arm with the back of my hand, signaling him to let go of this endangered person, and then squatted down and stared at her with interest, "But quite tenacious, you don't look like you can live much longer, struggling like this is too painful, do you want me to help you die straight?" She seemed unconscious and didn't understand what I was saying. I stretched out my claws and gestured at her delicate neck. She seemed to realize what was going on and shuddered and struggled in pain while I stayed unfazed. Just two centimeters deeper, I could pierce her veins and the rather pretty looking werewolf would quickly wither and fade. However, at the moment of my power, an accident happened. Between struggles, her emerald-like eyes flashed amber, and the moment I locked eyes with them, my ears perked up and I couldn't control myself as I released my grip on her neck and pushed back two steps. "Darren?" Douglas, who had never seen me like this before, nervously took two steps closer to my side and looked at the shewolf with a scowl, "Did she do something to you? I ......" I stopped Douglas. "It's okay." I said in a quiet voice. After saying that, I raised my hand and picked her up. Her body was light, barely weighing anything, and the blood couldn't stop flowing for a moment. I held her for just a moment before I felt the wet, greasy touch of blood soaking through my shirt. "Darren? Why are you." Some of the pack members came back from their patrol to report to me and happened to bump into this scene. They stepped back a little and followed after making sure they didn't recognize the wrong person. He must have been frightened, because I had never allowed women I didn't know anywhere near me before. "Darren, there are the bodies of a werewolf couple in the distance, dead ...... very miserable, but strangely enough, we didn't find the scent of rogues." "A werewolf couple, with their daughter?" I speculated, "Wolves go on patrol, there will never be such a team, they should be expelled by their own pack, and wander in the process of meeting the rogues? But there's no sign of a rogue at all. It's strange, isn't it, that the couple and their children are different?" I'm not sure about the werewolf couple, but she's indeed different, and I'm not going to say much about it because it's all up in the air. I glanced at the girl who was trembling slightly in my arms, threw down a sentence, and left without looking back. "Never mind, they are useless anymore."
