"How are you doing?" Zariel ask me. "I know the healer said that you are ok, but are you?"
"Yeah... I'm just a bit confused as to why do I had this vision, or whatever it is."
"Well, we will find soon. Samoa will come over." My father said. "I ask him to come tomorrow but when he found out about what happened he insisted to come tonight. So he should be here in about thirty minutes.
" Father? How much do you know about him? About Samoa?"
"I know as much as anyone else. Why?"
"Don't you think that he seems to be the only one who knows about our past? What if he is lying to us?"
"Invi, I know that you don't like him too much, but he is our Elder. We should not doubt his word. Besides, if there was something wrong with him I'm sure the other Elders will notice by now."
"Maybe... Or maybe that's why all the other Elders are dead now. Yeah... Zariel told me that Danero died as well."
"Invicta..."
"Do I interrupt anything?" Came the rough cold voice of Samoa.
"Oh, no! Please come in! We were waiting for you." My father said sending me a glare that was saying watch your tongue or there will be consequences.
"Invicta! Welcome back! I was glad to hear that you return home well." Samoa said to me.
"I couldn't say the same."
My father cleared his throat while Calista and Zariel were struggling to contain their laugher.
"She's trying to say that she is so sorry for most of our people."
"I see, general! Now let's get to business." He turns back to me. "Your father told me that you had some kind of visions. Will you care to tell me more? What was it about?"
"It was about two kids. Twins."
Everyone in the room gasped.
"Twins? But pax-els don't have twins!" Calista said.
"They don't but they did. Tell me more child!" Samoa demands.
After I told them everything all I could see was surprise and confusion. The only intriguing thing was Samoa's eyes. They held fear and anger.
I was wondering why? Why is he afraid?
"What you experienced is what we call disrupted really. It should be because of too much travelling.
"What do you mean?"
"What I'm trying to say is that your reality gets mixed with another. You can see and hear things that you never did."
"But the healer said something about visions of the past..."
"Well, people call it many things."
"Then what I saw was happening. It was real?"
"This is hard to know! Time and reality put together can be tricky. So don't trust completely anything you see or hear."
I nod my head in understatement.
"Oh...and you might want to let me have a look at your transportation device. I can make some upgrades so you don't get stuck in some unknown place full of dangerous beasts."
"Yeah... Thank you!" I said narrowing my eyes involuntarily when he extended his hand expectantly.
I take off my necklace and place it in his palm.
His fist closes instantly looking like he wanted to crush the little pendant.
"Well, I should go now! I'll see you tomorrow morning before you go!" He said and exit our house without waiting for a reply.
"Was this weird, or is it just me?" Zariel ask.
"I don't know, but it seems like he knows more than he tells," I said thinking about the look on Samoa's face.
"I believe the same sister! He looked afraid. Maybe afraid that you will find out the truth. What if you have seen was real, this might be a way to discover the hidden pieces of the puzzle."
"That's enough kids! Let's go ear and rest!" My father said.
"But father, Invicta might be right! Everyone that could have known more about this is dead. What if this was planned all along the way?"
"Calista! Not you too! I had enough for today! See you in the morning!" He said heading to his room.
"Well...let's go eat. We can talk more then." I nod my head and follow my sister and Zariel.
We each took a chair and start eating. It was delicious.
"So, are you going to go again?" Calista asks playing with her food.
"Yeah...tomorrow."
They both looked at me before Zariel was the first to speak. "Let me come with you!"
"No!" I said sternly. "I need you to stay here and protect my sister. Plus, I want to ask you to do something else for me."
"Anything." He said grabbing my sister's hand.
"I want you to keep an eye on Samoa. Know every move he makes, what he eats, everything. Even if my father doesn't want to believe it, I know Samoa is hiding something."
"Ok, I'll do that! Just promises you will be careful."
"I will! Do not worry about me! If I'm still alive after ten months out there, then I will stay like that!" I said amusingly.
They both smiled at me and continue eating.
After we finish eating I told them I will go for a walk. I wanted to see the place I used to go to clear my mind. The place where I last saw that red eyes.
The trip there was longer than usual now that we were far in North. But I needed to get there at least once before I go again.
I landed on the ground with my bare feet. I didn't bother to put any shoes on. The familiar feeling remember me of the old times when we used to come here for our family lunch.
I stayed there for a couple of hours, but nothing happened. I finally gave up and went home. I don't know why I came all the way here in the first place.
I take my clothes off and went to bed. Tomorrow I'll start another long journey.
I was dreaming about fields of flowers and kids playing carefree when I feel something cold on my neck. Instinctively I lift my hand, trying to touch it, but I couldn't.
I also couldn't see or scream. Someone was in my room. I feel fingers brushing my cheeks, disgusting me, while a blade was positioned on my throat. I feel the blood start streaming down my neck when the blade scratches my skin.
"You should have died a long time ago." A distorted voice came.
I start trashing, trying to get free. I can't die like this. Luckily for me, my spear was still under my covers. I get used to sleeping like that in all my travel months, as danger didn't wait for me to wake up.
I grab the spear, making it extend and I hear a scream of pain. It was a male. I must have hit him.
I cut the ties from my hand, hurting my arm in the process, then I uncover my eyes. But no one was there. I head to the open window, but all I could see was darkness.
