CRITICAL MISSION : CAPTURE THE VILLAINESS' HEART CHAPTER 31 Mission 31 : Face his Fear and Slay The Mighty Dragon HER SUTTLE yet teary eyes looked at him, directly on his eyes. "If you will die here, I will die too, for your brother just entrusted me with your life. So, please," he pleaded. "Do anything to survive. Because I don't wanna die in your world!" he desperately said to her. "My world?" she asked, slighty confused. He paused for a moment. His tongue just slipped. No one should know about his identity except them. Only the captain, vice captain, and those who keep him near. But he just blurted it out out of desperation. "Yes. I am not from your world. I am from another world." He made a more serious look. "Have you heard of the summoned one? The hero that your dear kingdom, Enchantria, have been waiting for?" Her eyes moved from his one eye to another. "Yes. That's me," he said, nodding. "Pardon me, your highness, " he asked and held her hands. "Wait!" she said and looked up at him. "You were the summoned one?" she asked. "Yes. So, let's go," he said. "If you were the summoned one, running away is not the way you should go. The road you should take should be the way towards the war zone." He just stare at her pleading beautiful eyes. But then, his breathing became too difficult. Not because she was gorgeous and her eyes are sparklingly hypnotizing, but because he felt the urge to do what she pleaded. "Damn," he whispered as he took his sword with his hands. He pulled the princess out the carriage. Taking his heavy breath, he looked towards where the commander and the captain went. The direction to where the dragon was enraging and breathing its fiery fire. It was the direction towards hell. Towards certain death for all of them. And for him, the greatest doom of his life. How the hell he ended up there? Everything was normal back then. He took heavy breathing. Is this the way he really should go? His hands and fingers should be holding a pen and imagining things like this. But he ended up holding a sword in his hands. He is a writer not a soldier nor a fighter. Grey went back to reality, where there was a big war against a fierce dragon, as the princess held him thigher than a while ago. "You stay here. I will go there, as you requested, " he said. He was about to go but then, the princess held his hand even tighter. His brows curled as he gave her a questioning look. "I will come with you. I'm going with you," she said. "Your highness. It's too dangerous. The commander wanted you to stay alive." "I am a healer. I can help you in the battle. I will stay at your side and keep on healing you while on battle. The kingdom is keeping me inside the palace for so long just to heal our men. And it's been years. The kingdom is not that peaceful as we wanted to," she said. "No, your highness. The war is too dangerous. You'll probably die out there." "You will keep me safe, right?" she asked as she stared at him more intensely. "Then I will waste all my powers for some stranger who claims that he is the summoned hero." He took a deep breath. Is it really this hard to talk and convince the princess? "Why will are you risking your life for someone you doesn't know? Why would you save someone when you can't even save yourself?" he asked mumbling. She doesn't said anything. He took a deep breath. "Show me the way there , where we can't be notice easily." The princess lead the way towards the enraging dragon. The surrounding is getting hotter and hotter. The green leaves of the trees were now in flames. He can already feel the hot mirage of the bricks cemented ground. It was like a hot plate ready to cook a pancake. His sweat were already building up. Actually, a few were already dripping. As he looked at the princess, he was mazed how she was still look ing fresh. Her porcelain skin doesn't even shed any oiliness. Even her long hair were softly swayed against the wind. Their pacing becomes slower as they nearly reached to a few meter away from where the dragon is. They hide on every broken bricked walls of the surrounding. They were like in an oven, waiting to be the dinner of the wicked mythical creature. He knew this really was a bad idea. He was pulling the princess when Grey braked his feet. He pushed the princess and shielded his arms for himself. He doesn't know why he ever done that. He could have ran back and left the princess, the whole kingdom to save his ass. But he didn't. The huge burning branch dropped on to him. It burned his skin and even his flesh were shouting in pain. It was yoo painful that he thought he could die. Even his clothes were showered with burning twigs and branches. "Ahh!" he shouted. But then, the torturous pain slowly went out. As if his skin was not burned. He opened his lids and checked himself. He was alive. More than alive. He was okay, like nothing ever happen. Is he dreaming? Or is it a premonition? His skin were perfect as it was before. In his peripheral view, the princess was about to went on her knees. Good thing, he ran towards to catch her before that. That's when he realize, the princess got weaker whenever she uses her power. So, she poured her energy to whoever she wishes to heal. For how long does she endured that? She had been healing men from the kingdom. And what kind of king does allowed that to happen to his only daughter. The king even offered her as a prize. Is the King from Enchantria always that heartless? Furious coated his dimmed eyes upon realization. "Grey," she called out to him. "Are you okay? " she asked as he looked at her. "Should I be the one asking that question?" "I am okay. We need to get going," she said. They hurriedly went on their path again. Soon they came to arrived to where the dragon were that time. The dragon were in front of the heavily bruised king. His army were unconsciously lying everywhere. "Father!" the princess called out for the king. Her voice cracked of fear. Both the king and the dragon looked towards them. The dragon smashed them with her enormous tail. "You shouldn't have come here. This is our fight." The dragon once again faced the king. Her mouth was ready to blow a fire. With trembling feet, Grey stood up and atarted proclaiming. "I, Grey, from the other world, known as the summoned hero of Enchantria, is standing here to defeat you. Face me so I can fulfill the duty I've been ordered to." He lifted his sword and prepared for the worse. Maybe his death.
