CHAPTER 4 Mission 4: Receive the Reward HER LIDS PARTLY opened, carrying those heavy curly eyelashes, and revealed her beautiful crimson eyes. It was full of anger and pain. Though, Grey still see it as a unique glittering pair of eyes that he had never seen before. Her pupils were in a shape of almond and was dilated. He should be afraid, but he'll only lie to himself if won't admit that he was captivated by it. As she close those beautiful pairs, his hand, unconsciously moved forward to touch her face, and brushed off her hair so he could see her more clearly. Well, honestly , he really wanted to touch her. He is just a healthy young man and would crave for such blessing in front of him. But with her poor state, his human conscience says a big NO. Midway, he stopped. No! He convince himself while trying to held onto his other hand, hindering it. It was like he was debating with his own self. He breathed in deeply and turned his back. Quickly, he went back to the path where he came from. Luckily, he wasn't lost because of the pieces of his armour that he dropped one by one a while ago. "I remembered, there was a river here, " he mumbled. And he came to find it easily by the flows that rushes towards certain direction that he heard near. His hands rushly ripped off parts of his clothes and soak it on the river. He also fetch some volume with his armor piece for his chest, that he just picked up. He ran back towards the naked woman. She was still unconscious. "Thank goodness. She's still breathing ," he said. He bent down to reach her with his hands. But before that, he took off the buttons of his unbranded long sleeve, from top to bottom. After that, he took it off from his upper body. He wrapped his clothes around her body. He began wiping off the blood on her body. Sometimes, he could hear her groaned whenever he washes parts of her wounds. When he was done, he couldn't help himself but to stare at her face. If having such beautiful face was a sin, she is really an evil one. "Why would they want to kill you? You're not that dangerous. Just look at you right now. You can't even lay a finger on the stranger who's touching your body." The sun is almost set. And it's getting colder. He could totally feel it with his undressed upper body. He gently rub his hands on his arms to warm it. But that wasn't t enough. He need something warmer. His eyes settled once again on the woman's face down to her chest that partly exposed. His mind become imagining things but when he saw the cuts and bruises on her body made him think twice. No! No! No ! He convinced himself. That is not the right time to do such thing! Yes. He is attracted but not enough for him to do such inhumane act. He took a sigh once again. He'll need a fire for the two of them. But he doesn't have any fire starter with him in that traditional world. If only he can just search how to make fire with nature at the Internet. Speaking of fire, he thought of an impossible idea. Why did he only think of that? Once again, he move around the place. He search for something burnt by the dragon's fire breath. And he did not fail. It was a small branch from a broken tree. Luckily, it can be still use to start a fire with dried leaves around that he gathered on his way back. As he was walking, he passed by a box he dropped earlier. "Ah. My lucky charm! " he exclaimed as he picked up the lunch box of eggs that Dio gave him. He began creating a bonfire beside them. It was easy. Then he used the other side of the armor to use as a pot. The eggs were not cooked. How was that even a lunch box if it doesn't have any cooked foods inside. He doesn't have any other choice but to cook it. He cracked the eggs, whisk it with washed stick he found somewhere. He even put some mushrooms and chives he found around. Just as he put the eggs on the fire, the woman beside began to move. She looks uncomfortable, like she was in a nightmare. He moved near her and was about to shake her but then he felt her high temperature. He took his ripped cloth soaked in cold water and was about to put it on her forehead. But then, her dark eyes opened, staring straight at him. He did not see what comes next. The woman moved, more like attacked him. He did not how, but he was now below her. Her legs were caging his body, her hand was holding his wrist that was holding the cloth, while the other one is pressing his shoulder down on the ground so he can't move anymore. Her eyes were full of anger. Then her stares began moving down to his naked torso. It looks like she just realized something. She looked at her body that was only covered with his cloth that has a torn part. Her grip began to loosen. She moved backwards like being burnt by something that is not fire. She moved away from him while breathing heavily. He hands embraced her body like he did something terrible. "You misunderstood. I did not do anything. I was just wiping your-- " He can't continue what he was about to say. The woman began to turn red. Her horns were starting to pop out of her head. Her finger began to grow into sharp claws. Her crimson eyes becomes bigger than usual. This might be the time she turns into a dragon. And the time for him to save his life. Run as fast as he could perhaps. He's in danger ! How could he forgot she was the villain the kingdom wants to eliminate. He's going to die here. Is this the end of his story? Never in his life met such fierce woman. She was turning into a dragon when she attacked him. The dragon inhaled and was about to breathe him a fire when it paused. The dragon's eyes closed and her nose began sniffing. Slowly, she turned back to being a normal woman. She is still sniffing the air. Her attention moved to the eggs he was cooking. She came to where it was and began munching the freshly cooked food. "Ahmm th -- that's an omelette," he said. He doesn't know if he can still go near her. But still, he tried. She was too busy eating his cooking. Maybe that was the time he can get his reward. He stepped towards her and began sniffing her hair. But then, the woman stepped away from him and stopped eating. Her hand lifted and swiftly landed on his left cheek. He did not see it coming. He never thought a woman would ever slap him that hard. She ran away as she turned to dragon and flew away. "Damn! A slap really does hurt," he mumbled while massaging his cheek. "Grey?" He turned around to see Dio and other men found him at last. "We followed the smoke and leads us to you. Thank goodness. You've made it. Come on. Let's look for the others before going back to the castle," he said. There he headed back with them, trying to forget what he just saw. They were outnumbered. Only few made it back to the castle. They took them inside the castle to meet the princess. They must be cured by the powers of the princess. They were waiting outside a huge double door. They entered there one at a time. He could not still believe himself to be in a fantasy world. Never in his life witness thing he saw recently. Dio, who was full of cuts a while ago, came out the huge door clean and looks like didn't went on a war. "Your turn," he said as he tapped his shoulder. He went inside with a soldier inside that room. Inside were white and golds. It was like stepping on a holy place. He was asked to sit in front of a satin curtained corner, with his back facing that. The soldier stood by the door, facing the other way and were meters away. He could hear some small pieces of metals clanging on each other. A hand tapped his back. That made him look behind. There he saw a pale looking face of an angel. Yes. Like what Habeck told him, she is really pretty. Is it normal to have such beauties in where he is? But he could see the pain behind that face. She is enduring something. She looks ill. "Turn your back. I'll heal you," she whispered like a harmony of a harp. He held her hand that was about to touch him again. "No," he shook his head. "Is this why you were sick?" he asked out of nowhere. Her eyes widened. "If healing me will make your state worse, then I'll better endure this on my own. You don't have to sacrifice your health." Just as he said those words, the soldier went near them and dragged him away from the princess. He pressed him down the cold floor with the sharp end of the sword on his throat. "What happened here?" Rojjan came in and echoed his voice inside. "He saw the princess' face," the soldier said. "I just saw her face. What's wrong with that? A beauty like that shouldn't be hiding," he defended but stopped when the sword moved closer to his neck. "Take him to the dungeon," Rojjan ordered his men. He kept struggling but those men were stronger than him. He was taken to the stairs below the main floor. It was dark and there's only a glim of light to there. They took him behind bars, like a prison. His hands gripped on those horizontal metals. "W--wait! I did not do anything wrong. Hey! I just wanna ask to be returned that's why I don't want to be cured. Hey ! Is this my reward?! " He keeps shouting but no one ever give a second about what ever he's blurring out. "I just want to receive my reward. I just want to go back home," his voice somehow descended in tone.
