CHAPTER 17 Mission 17: Save the Vice - Captain "SO, the captain is really a woman?" Grey nodded at his cousin's question. "It's hard to believe. Because I'm one of his - - I mean her fan. She was so strong and noble that anyone adore," Dio uttered. They got no choice but to tell him the truth. They can not deny it anymore. Not when he saw a proof. Dio turned his head towards Amber who was still sleeping. They talked by the area near where Am er is resting. "I know how often we fight. But I am asking you to keep this one. It's not for me. It's for her sake, " Aisel asked. "No need to ask for it. If she have been keeping this, it means that she had a really hard time keeping it on her own. Just how hard is that? She is still a woman after all. " Dio knowing the Captain's secret didn't gave them any more troubles. By his cousin's serious expression, they can tell that he can keep it a secret. Well , that's a relief. Aisel went to Amber who just woke up. They were talking seriously. He may be explaining that Dio already knew. As they can see, Amber just looked at where they are and did not say anything. "Hey kiddos! " Habeck entered at the scene. "Why are you guys so serious? Is there anything that is going on?" he asked. "Nothing. We're good, " Amber answered from behind. "Oh! You're already awake? Are you okay now? " his dad asked. Amber nodded slowly. " You should take care of yourself more," Habeck stated. "Why don't you guys look for ingredients that we can cook gor dinner? I'll cook something nice for your hardwork this day, " he said. Habeck gave them the list of ingredients that weren't available in their garden. "Why don't we go on separate ways? I mena divide ourselves in to two. We could finish looking for those ingredients faster, " Aisel suggested as he held his arm. " I'll be going with Grey, " he said. Aisel didn't even heard if the two wanted his decision. But instead, he dragged him away from them. Grey looked back to see that Amber is also not protesting. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked. "They just need alone time. So they could talk. Now that Dio knows her secret, " Aisel stated. "All we need to do is to finish the searching. Now, what do we need to find?" he asked as they entered a forest nearby. While Dio and Amber went on the opposite direction. To the way Dio's house were. Just as they stepped inside the forest, Aisel began to slap every part of his arms. "Damn mosquitoes! " Aisel cursed. After some other minutes, Grey stopped. "Ahmm, vice captain? Do you want to go first or not?" he asked, as he stared at the muddy way beside the river. "What? Why? " he asked as he swiftly swayed his hands on air to shoo away those mosquitoes. Aisel took a peek at the the muddy way. "No. We can look for another way. I don't want to get dirty," he said. "It's getting d darker. And we don't have any lamp with us. It will take few more minutes to find another way." "When I say I don't want to, I really don't! " he said as he tossed his arms on his chest and pouted. "Fine. Then I'll go by myself. Just go back if you wanted to," Grey started to walk with cautious. But then Aisel held on to him. "Wait! Don't leave me ! " he said. " I' ll come with you," he mumbled. "Are you sure?" he asked. He nodded. Then glared at him. "Just be sure to assist me. I don't want any mud to get on my pretty face." "Yeah. Whatever. Come here, " he lend his hand. "Why do you like dressing up as a girl?" "Because I'm beautiful. Duh! " she answered. Aisel began stepping like a princess and Grey assisted him like one. "Just be careful, " he said. "I am careful!" Aisel answered. But then, Aisel made a wrong step and got himself twisted. Next thing he knew, Aisel came rolling down the cliff by the end of the river where waterfalls were running down. "Vice Captain! " he reach for him, but failed. He looking down to where he fell, looking for him. "I'm here!" he shouted. He was just beside the water falling from that river, stucked on the big chunks of rocks. Thank goodness, he did not fell to the most bottom. He just landed on a rough step. "Are you okay?" he asked, for he can't even reach for him. "Yeah? But my skin is not okay! I just got a big ugly bruise, " he cried. "At you are alive . That what matters. Stay right there. I'm coming to get you," he assures. "Okay? Just hurry up! The water is starting to freeze me here," he asked. He walked a few meters, trying to look for another route. He could just follow her using anything to be used as rope. But then, they didn't know how far is the bottom of that water falls. He needs to find a way the soonest. Or he'll be considered a villain in that story. Not a hero. He couldn't walk any more meters away from the vice captain. Or else he could get lost. And there's a big chance that they both may end up in tragic. "What the - - - ! " Turning around, his face was slapped with some strong stemmed vines hanging from trees. This is one of the reason why he can lost. Those vines were shading the way. "But wait ," he uttered to himself for a lightbulb lightened above his head. This could be too long if he will make a rope out of those many vines. "That's right!" he shouted. Quickly, he pulled the vines as much as he could carry. And went straight back to where he left the vice captain. "Grey! Is that you? " Aisel asked, with a slight shivering in his voice. "Just hold on for a minute. I'll be there," he said. "Okay," he answered. One by one. Strand per strand. He tied them to make the strongest rope he can make out of those vines. "Ouch!" he hissed when a small thorn ripped his thumb a little. It started to sting and bleed a little. He twisted the rope to the biggest tree he can see that can support both of them. He also tied the other end to his waist. Slowly, he cane down, like a rock climber. Aisel was sitting when he finally got him. "Hold on tight, " he said. "No. I'm not hugging y - - ! " He gently pushed him away. That resulted for the the rope to unclasped from his waist. His hands were not strong so they came rolling down the rocks beside the waterfalls. Good thing, it wasn't that high. He could have breathed calmly when he found out that the vice captain was unconscious.
