Looking out the plane window, it wasn't an easy decision returning home. After all Gabe and I had left, in search of our mates, for a better life, a ticket out of that s**t show. The only good memory that place held was Hunter. If it weren't for him I would've burnt that f*****g hell hole down to the ground. Refusing to take the alpha role was the best decision I ever made.
Traveling abroad I had found my mate. Sleeping in the seat beside me I placed a kiss upon her forehead as my hand caressed her round belly. Smiling as I gazed at her in awe.
We had met in a little dainty cafe in Sicily. Her hair, wavy and a dark chocolate flowed down her tanned back. She was wearing a white flowy dressed covered in small red and yellow flowers with a pair of brown gladiator sandals on. Gabe and I had called in to get a much needed coffee hit. The second I stepped in the shop door her scent of vanilla bean drowned my senses. She lifted her head from her book and locked eyes with me, her light chocolate eyes looking into my soul.
"MATE!"
She got up from her seat and practically threw herself in my arms. We've been inseparable since. 10 months later here we are on a plane, back to the place I swore I'd never return with my mate and unborn pup.
Gabriel's POV.
It had been 2 months since Malachi had found his mate. I was starting to lose hope that I'd ever find mine. I was happy for my twin brother. He deserved to be loved. But I couldn't help feeling a little envious of him. It was like the moon goddess had literally handed his mate to him. I felt like a third wheel around them. They always tried to include me in things but I wasn't one to handle people taking pity on me. When Malachi and Anna had gone out to the farmers market I decided to take this opportunity to get the f**k outta here.
I threw a change of clothes, my wallet and passport into a duffel bag and hit the road. Jumping from city to city I drunkenly stumbled into a downtown bar in Sussex.
Calling out to the bar maid "I'll have a double shot of whiskey near love."
"I don't think so buddy, looks like you've had enough mate."
"Aw come on, one drink wont hurt nobody."
"I don't think so poppet."
Well f**k it, I'll go elsewhere then. I headed for the door but before I could get out of the way I felt the door smack right into my face, leaving me a bit disoriented.
"Watch where you're f*****g go-". I instantly felt sobre her face coming into view.
"I'm sorry I didn't know you were behind the door. Why the hell would you stand there for?". She said irritated no longer feeling sorry about her actions.
"I wasn't standing behind it love I was walking out the cunt before you decided to assault me." I said offended at her tone. "I'm fine tho thanks for checking." I added dramatically.
This woman bursted into laughter, almost collapsing.
That was a night I'd never forget. I had found my mate, Ellie. Unlike Anna, Ellie was human. Never in a million years would I have dreamt of having a human as a mate. As a species, humans were weaker in every way possible. But none of that mattered when it came to Ellie. She accepted me for who I was and stood by my side regardless. I proposed to her a month after meeting her and of course she said yes. So here we are now, on a flight with Malachi and Anna back to the Blood Stone pack.
Ellie knew everything about me. All that I had gone through. I thought she'd be ashamed on me renouncing my right to the Alpha title. I had my reasons why. And Ellie understood so that's all that really matters.
An hour later and we had finally landed. We collected our baggage and made our way to the taxi stand. We piled into a cab and made our way, 40 minutes later towards the blood stone pack. As we approached the packhouse I tensed remembering all the s**t I had fought so hard to bury inside. Sensing my discomfort Ellie reached out and grabbed my hand, giving it and reassuring squeeze before we came to a stop. We climbed out the taxi after paying the driver and headed up the grand stairs and through the front doors.
"Let's get the girls settled then we'll catch up with Hunter." Malachi decided.
Nodding my head and reaching for Ellies free hand. "Sounds like a plan. This way to my room babe."
XAVIERS POV
It had been 2 hours since Chelsea had gone in the mall. I decided to sit in the car cause shopping at my type of thing. Frustrated that she wouldn't answer my calls I decided to go find her. I roamed around trying to pick up her scent but instead a familiar smell teased my nostrils. The sweetest hint of vanilla bean. It couldn't be. My eyes flashed between my blue orbs and my wolf's black ones. I inhaled, letting the aroma suffocate me. I changed directions and headed towards the food court. Scanning the place my eyes found where the scent was coming from. My wolf howled in triumph. It was her. It was Autumn. I stalked towards her. She lifted her head watching me approach.
"Is.. it really you? Autumn?!!. I said in total disbelief.
Panic was written all over her face and she wearily lent back. "Wh-who are you?".
My heart began to beat rapidly. I had spent years trying to find her. No matter how hard I looked I couldn't find any trace. I thought she must have died along with her parents during the rogue attack. And yet he she was in front of me. The most gorgeous woman I had ever had the pleasure of being in front of. The moon goodness has delivered her to me. I have finally found my mate.
