Chapter Eight: Autumns POV.

Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I attempted to climb out of bed. But something was anchoring me to the mattress. Confused by the sudden restriction I peer over my shoulder and notice Hunter, holding me tightly. My eyes widened and I swear I almost shat myself on the spot. What was he doing in my bed, let alone my room. Was this my room? Or had i intruded his. Scanning the room quickly it's safe to say he was the intruder. I tried to gently, and slowly pry his arm off my body. "What are you doing little mate." he asked with a sleepy husky voice. "I-I-I need to use the bathroom." My cheeks instantly reddened from that announcement. Rolling into his side "Hurry back." I jumped off the bed and dashed to the bathroom, making sure to lock the door behind me. I took a look in the mirror. My hair looked like a birds nest and I had a little bit of dried up dribble down my chin. Who wouldnt want to wake up to this mess. f**k my life. After using the toilet I washed my face and brushed my hair out. It was a SMALL improvement, but still an improvement. I reached for the door handle,  calming my nerves before unlocking the door to be greeted by... an empty bed. Did I imagine the entire thing? Yup here we go ive really lost my marbles. At breakfast Lexi and Leah announced we'd be going on a girls day out. If I'm honest I'd prefer to train. I had to ask Hunter of course if I could join in with pack training. I wanted to be able to protect myself. But I didn't say that to the girls. After all they were the only friends I had here. And they had been so nice and welcoming. I also wanted to find a job. I'm grateful for everything hunter has provided me but I wanted to pull my weight aswell. "So we will head to the mall and do some retail therapy, then we'll head to the spa resort and relax, and to finish the day off we'll grab a bite to eat and a restaurant followed by a couple drinks." Leah excitedly screeched. "Maybe we could join the pack training instead?" "Oh Autumn, don't be silly, there's plenty of time for that babe and, well don't take this the wrong way but we need to get you some clothes. You deserve them" said Lexi with a sincere look. "I don't have any money tho." "Don't worry, we've got that part sorted" Leah grinned as she held up a black credit card. "Oh guys, no. I couldn't expect yous to pay for me that's too much. I'm grateful, really but I couldn't accept that." Leah winked "Oh this isn't our card, it's Hunters. And he said to take you shopping. Only condition is to find a dress for you to wear to the ceremony in 1 week when you officially join our pack." My cheeks reddened at the fact there was going to be a ceremony and I was the reason. I preferred to be blend in to the background, as if I never existed. The thought of everyone's attention on me caused me to hyperventilate. What a f*****g loser. I needed air and I needed it now. I stood up abruptly "I'll wait for you guys outside, I just wanna get a bit of air." Before either of them could reply I made my way to the front door. I stood at the top of the steps watching all the young pups run around playing a game of soccer. "Over here, over here Jesse." One of the little boys yelled before the ball was kicked into his direction. I couldn't help the smile that crept upon my face. That is until I noticed a small little girl just to the left of the lawn, head down sobbing into her knees. It bought back painful memories of the last time I seen my parents. My heart ached seeing another little girl in the same sitting position. I approached her and crouched, gently trying to console the wee soul. "Hi. My name is Autumn. Is everything okay?" Nothing except muffled cries. So I tried again. "I'm not from this pack but i hope to be one day. Maybe you could show me around?" Still nothing. "Sometimes, when I'm upset I cry aswell. But, once I've finished, I wipe my tears. And then do you know what I do?" Curiosity got her. She peaked up at me ever so slightly "What do you do?" "Then I get some ice cream. Ice cream makes everything better." By now she was grinning. My heart warmed watching her stand up and wipe her tears away. "Does that mean we can go get some ice cream?" "Of course it does." I said as I stood and held my hand out waiting for her to grab it. She excitedly pulled on my hand dragging me towards the packhouse. "Let's go then Autumn. My names Tash by the way." "Well it is very nice to meet you Tash." I giggled as we made our way towards the freezer. We both devoured a 2 scoop neapolitan ice cream on the door step while Tash told me her reasons for being upset earlier. Turns out the boys wouldn't let her join in on the game. "I tell you what, next time you feel upset you can always come find me. We don't need the boys to have fun, we can play our own games. And we can have more ice cream. I winked at her. "Your promise?". "I pinky promise". We had been at the mall for 3 hours. Going from store to store was draining. My feet ached from constantly being on them, my hands felt like they were gonna fall off from carrying all these bags and yet the girls STILL wanted to carry on. "I'm sorry guys but I just can't do it no more. I don't know how yous do it. I'm gonna go to the food court so I can take some pressure off my feet". "Oh no please come with us just a couple more stores then we're done." "Yeaaaah, I'm gonna pass on that one but thanks anyways" I called over my shoulder as I made my way towards the food court, ordering a banana milkshake before collapsing into the nearest chair. Time felt like it was dragging. I just wanted to go back to the packhouse, have a relaxing bath and curl up in bed. Oh how I'd give anything for that right now. Out of no where a man with shoulder length dirty blonde hair approached me. He had stubble along his chiseled jaw, bright ocean blue eyes and a very muscular body. His white shirt clung to his perfect body, ripped black Jean's with combat boots also complimented his 6ft body. He was a very attractive man. I bet he had women falling at his feet. "Is.. it really you? Autumn?!!" His eyes widened with shock. Who was this man and how did he know my name. Better yet, why did he know my name. And what could he possibly want from me. The hairs on arms started to stand. I backed up a bit. "Wh-who who are you?".
