The death of Attorney Clarence Morgan had been all around newspapers in the United States. There was no forced entry, he was shot on the back of his head, while his head rested on top of his arms which were crossed on the table. His life was ended by a single bullet, which means the murderer had everything planned and calculated. There were no second tries, he was meant to be killed by the first gunshot, leaving no room for error. “Must be done by a professional,” Stephanie said as she puts her left hand under her chin. Jon walked towards her, placed two cups of strong coffee on the cocktail table which was made of glass and metal. He then sat beside her, “I was not sure at first, but there were many indicators that he was killed by someone he knew,” he said as he looked at her. Stephanie gave Jon a visit at his place, and asked him a lot about Morgan’s death. He got so occupied that he did not notice his mobile phone had rang many times. “Thank you,” she said as she took a sip of coffee, then continued, “Is the police able to capture anyone? I mean, they must have at least a suspect.” “Steph, all cameras were disabled.” he managed to reply. Jon knew that apart from Morgan being shot from behind, no personal items were missing, which is a non indication of robbery. She held his hand, “Jon, I have spoken to Adrianna, Vivian’s good friend. She does not know where she has gone.” her hand was warm, and she seemed to be a lot concerned about him. “Did I tell you that Morgan had talked about her a few days before he was shot?” Stephanie shook her head, then replied, “No, I just do not think this is a mere coincidence that she had suddenly flown to France with no reason.” Jon buried his face in his hands, Stephanie moved closer to him and gave him a pat on the shoulder. “Do not be like this, you are not allowed to go weak at this time.” She touched his chin and made him look at her. “Your father must be troubled with all that is happening right now, he needs your support.” Jon took her hand off his chin and hugged her, keeping his tears from falling.

Cathy woke up early, and saw Anna preparing food in the kitchen. "You came in too early," she told the woman, to which Anna replied. "I got a call from Lee, he said that Jon wants me to stay here for a couple of weeks while waiting for your mother." The two women smiled at each other, and Cathy took a seat on the breakfast nook. After she had finished cooking, Anna served breakfast. There was a bit of silence for a few minutes, but Anna started a conversation. "Dear, may I ask why you opted to move here?" Cathy thought for a moment, then replied. "I have school to attend to. I am currently in UCLA." Anna smiled, "That's a great one! You should do well." Cathy replied, "Yes, Anna. I need to." They spoke of a few things, which led to Cathy telling her about some details about her and Jon. She told her about his father disagreeing with the relationship and that Jon wanted her to finish college before they start a family. Cathy confessed to Anna that she had been worried for a few days as she had not spoken to Jon on the phone lately. "He was either unavailable, busy or Lee would answer and ask me to leave a message." She also told her how happy she was that Jon even bought a place for her to stay while she is in school, and so she is somewhat disappointed that he is not answering her calls. She seemed unhappy, until Anna exclaimed, "Oh this place? It wasn't new, dear." Cathy was obviously surprised. "This unit was bought by Allana Albertson, but it was vacated since she died years ago." Anna said that she had been the caretaker since, and she had seen Jon grow up in the tropics of the United States until his father decided to move to New York, and never came back. She held Cathy's hands and told her, "He must love you that much, that he gives you his mother's home." Anna comforted her, smiled. Cathy smiled back and went on to eating her breakfast.

"These are all speculations!" Jon told Stephanie after a few hours of discussion. He got up, brushed his hair with his left hand and placed both his hands on both sides of his waist. Stephanie got up as well, and facing Jon, reiterated the possibility that Vivian might have something to do with his lawyer's death. Vivian disappeared with no one knowing where exactly she went. Her father, Sergius Desmonde went on his own trip to the Maldives, which made it impossible for Jon to contact him about his daughter. "All that we get are either voicemails or assistants taking the call for him," he told Stephanie. "But then, Steph, nothing is clear. No obvious reasons or motive for her to want Morgan killed." Before she could reply, there was a knock on the door. "It's Lee, sir." Jon opened the door and let him in, "You got about eleven calls from Miss Mills today." He showed him his mobile phone, and a record of landline calls. "I never wanted to bother her with all these, I'll call back when it's convenient." Lee went off, leaving the two as Stephanie walked over to Jon. "What was it? Was there anything wrong?" He shook his head, and offered to take her home.
