*Unknown POV*
I have been watching this girl for a couple weeks now. She came close to our territory, but never set foot over the boundary. My alpha found this very strange when I spotted her on my patrol and was ordered to follow her and report back. This girl was strange. She is definitely a rogue, but she doesn't act like one. Rogues lose their mind to the madness. Their wolves struggle with the solitude, so over time they become rabid beasts. Even their human counterparts lose themselves. This girl however, is calculating and calm. She forages and hunts for food like us pack wolves would in a run, quite skillfully I might add, telling me that she's been out here for a long time.
I've been mind linking my alpha daily, keeping my distance as not to spook her. She is intriguing, she needs better food though. I've seen her eat raw deer meat and raw fish in her human form and that made my stomach churn at the thought of doing that myself. I settle down by a cave for the night that I saw her go in to. Just far enough away so she can't sense I'm here. "She seems like she's just lost? Maybe she was part of a pack but the connection never severed? Alpha, she looks like she's been out here for years, what should I do?" I mind link before leaning my back against a tree.
"See if you can talk to her in the morning. It's been a couple weeks, we should help her if she will let us." He replied softly. Our alpha is compassionate, but brutal to those who deserve it. Now we have confirmed that although she is rogue, she hasn't succumbed to the madness we know she shouldn't be a huge threat to the pack if we were to bring her in. Something inside me wants to take care of her. Give her all the food she can eat, give her a space to sleep soundly, allow her to tame the lions mane that has become her hair. I'm not sure why.
Before I was born, my parents told me about a tragedy at the Desert Forest Pack. The alpha and his family had died in a tragic fire. Most of the pack had been lost to the damages. We had taken some of the survivors in from that pack, to give them sanctuary so they didn't go rogue. No ranked members survived the fire, only the omegas got out because their first instinct is to run from the danger rather than fight it.
I chose not to think about it, I acknowledged my alpha's orders and closed my eyes for the night. The crisp breeze woke me up that morning. Winter was definitely on its way, so I couldn't think of a better time for this girl to get out of the woods. I groaned and stretched my arms before standing up to dust myself off. Time to talk to this girl. I headed inside the cave and followed it. It seemed never ending!
The light shined on the other side, so I followed it until I came across this beautiful landscape. It truly looked like a slice of heaven. Until my eyes landed on a shoddy log shelter by the lake. I approached the shelter and just as I was about to reach it, the girl emerged from one end of it. she caught wind of my scent, she hid away under the logs. "I'm not here to hurt you! I just want to help, even just talking to you is fine!" I crept closer to the hut and tried to plea with her. I couldn't hear anything on the other side, either she was staying incredibly still or... Turning around I see her figure retreating out of the area, back through the cave. Well shit.
I ran after her, hoping to catch her quickly and bring her home to at least let her see a doctor. She was fast though, I might have to shift just to catch her. She started to slow down as I began to gain ground, then all of a sudden she bolted again, her wolf's scent lingering behind her. She's at least 16 then. She had masterful control over her wolf if she could allow her to come forward without actually shifting. This girl is a wonderful mystery!
I decide to shift after jumping over like the 4th log, she needs help for crying out loud. My wolf, Ash gains ground quickly. He gets close enough to finally pounce, trapping her underneath his paws. When that happens though, she screams and blocks her face with her hands. My heart shattered seeing her hands bruised and bloody from the raw meat and clearly building that shelter all by herself. Ash nuzzles her to try and pry her hands away from her face. She squirms and wriggles, trying to shuffle out from underneath him. She keeps screaming, no words, just a heart wrenching scream. "I have her but I can't bring her to the doctor as Ash, I had to shred my clothes just to catch her. She's quick!" I breathlessly tell my alpha. He responds telling me the beta is on his way to help. I keep nuzzling her to try and get her to calm down. Her voice becoming hoarse from the screaming. Beta Seth comes out from the tree line, "She's got some lungs hasn't she?" he covers his ears briefly as he approaches us.
He peels a hand away from her face and she finally looks at us both, tears streaming down her sunken cheeks. "We are here to help you, I am Beta Seth, and this is one of our warriors, Ben. This is his wolf Ash, he's not going to hurt you. Will you let me carry you?" She stares deep into his eyes before quietening down and nodding.
"We're bringing her home"
