*Seth's POV*
This girl is so fragile. She allowed me to pick her up and her body tensed up. she remained rigid for the walk back to Blue Moon. Ben stayed as Ash to not freak her out by being naked, walking alongside us keeping an ear out for trouble.
We reach the pack's border and I immediately made my way for the Hospital and dismissed Ben to get dressed.
"We're at the hospital now, Ben wasn't kidding by how malnourished this girl is. I will get Doctor Taylor to examine her and update you personally, I think I've scared this girl enough"
I mind link Alpha Kane and he responds with a 'hmm', Doctor Taylor rushed into the room and began to examine her. The girl began to panic and she scrambled away from doctor Taylor. And fell off the bed I placed her on.
"Hey, remember me?" I crouched down in front of her but not too close. She rubbed her back but nodded, looking up at me with those silver eyes.
Silver? Strange. I shake the thought away and offer her my hand. "This lady here is Doctor Taylor, she wants to make sure you are okay and you are not hurt. But you need to be on the bed. I will make sure she doesn't hurt you."
I plead with her and she nods, standing up and climbing onto the hospital bed. She keeps her eyes on me. "Are you able to speak?" She nods, "can you tell me your name?"
She looks at me strangely, as if she had to search her mind for the answer. "M-Morgan" her raspy voice sounded.
Doctor Taylor runs her tests but surprisingly the girl doesn't flinch or tense up. She let's her do her job. "She is surprisingly strong and well. She hasn't had a good diet or much water so it seems she is just dehydrated and malnourished.
I will bring some food and she is now hooked up to IV fluids to rehydrate her. I will bring some water for her to drink too."
Doctor Taylor informs me and I pass that information onto Alpha Kane. 'I will be there soon' I hear echo in my head. When Doctor Taylor comes back into the room with the tray of food, Morgan literally begins to drool.
Her eyes fixated on the tray coming her way. Once it is settled on her lap it was like watching a rabid beast eat. She grabbed at the chicken and rice, spooning it in her hands and feeding herself by hand. Just how long was this girl out there?
Her hair was matted at the top of her head, her cheeks had sunken. When she shifted she had some muscle around her arms and legs but her torso was so skinny. She was tall, I'd even argue she was around my height which isn't normal for most females.
They usually stand no taller than 5ft 8in maybe 5ft 9in, she easily looks like shes easily over 6ft tall. She's got a strong bloodline then. But where did she come from?
*Kane's POV*
My wolf Onyx has been on edge since Ben told Seth and me about that girl wandering the forests. He won't tell me why.
I have been getting updates from Seth, he even told me how she ate her food like an animal. She's clearly been out there for a long time. Why didn't she succumb to the madness like countless other rogues.
This girl was very interesting. I pull out my phone from my pocket and dial a contact of mine, Diego, if I needed someone found through records he was the man to do it. "Hello? Yes I need you to look up a girl called Morgan. Unfortunately we don't have a last name. Check across any missing person's list matching, her blue-black hair and silver eyes. Yes Thank you. Bye."
I place the phone down and Onyx pipes up, "Go check on the girl I want to see her!" I lean back in my leather office chair glancing over the room.
"What's got you so excited to see her? We see women all the time around the pack grounds?"
He goes silent. Receding to the back of my mind. Fine, I suppose I already told Seth I would come, I probably should. Nervousness settled in the pit of my stomach as I opened the heavy mahogany door, pulling it closed behind me.
Let's go see what Onyx is so excited for.
I walked in long strides, down from the 5th floor of the packhouse to the entrance on the ground floor. Stepping outside to a crisp breeze flowing through the trees.
I couldn't help but take a deep breath in. Various pack members say hello as I walk by. Making my way down the stone path to the Pack's Hospital.
I am greeted by the hospital staff by the door. I mind link Seth "Which room are you in?" , "203" He responds flatly as if he's focused on something. I get in the lift and press the button for the 2nd floor. As it ascends and the doors open, a scent wafts my way.
The scent of blueberries.
Onyx wakes back up, his tail wagging side to side. I follow the scent and which room does it land on? None other than the one I'm heading to, room 203.
I open the door and the blueberry scent practically knocks me on my ass! It was strong! I make eye contact with those piercing silver orbs and then suddenly shes gone.
Where'd she just go?
I snap out of my daze, shaking my head and then hear the panicked breathing behind the bed. She fell off the bed... I step closer, peering around the bed, and my heart sank. Seth wasn't kidding.
She looked worse for wear.. "Morgan?" I whisper to her. Her breathing settled for a moment before panic rose again. I stood and turned to Doctor Taylor and Seth.
"Do we know how long she was out there?" Their head shook side to side. "Ben had been tracking her for 2 weeks before he made contact, you heard his updates, she was even eating raw meat, telling us she didn't know how to start a fire" Seth recalled.
I listen to her, hoping she will calm on her own. As much as it pains me to see her that way, I think I might scare her more if I tried to get close.
I crouched on the other side of the bed, she could see me through the bars underneath but this might help. "Hello little mate.." I whisper again, her breathing settled again, finally turning to me.
Her eyes so full of fear, I couldn't even begin to describe the pang in my chest. "I am Kane, Alpha of this pack. I know your name is Morgan, will you come up onto the bed? I'd like to see you and talk."
I raise my hands above my head, "I won't hurt you I promise" Please let her believe me.
