We tried to swim towards one of the sides but it was helpless, the stream was too strong. How is this really happening right now?? I screamed inside of my head as I felt all the energy leaving my body. Ten seconds and then we were going to die. I looked over at Eric and saw that he was realizing it too. We turned towards each other and I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck. His body still felt warm and comforting under the circumstances. His eyes didn't look panicked at all. Somehow Eric looked at peace. "I love you, Evie!" He screams over the rushing water and before I can answer him he covers my lips with his. We go over the edge and the rush pulls us apart.
