The Start of It All
A long time ago, in a Kingdom far away, there lived honest people of Baumilla and their beloved Royal family. This is where our story shall begin. At the start of where disaster and challenges faced the honest people of Baumilla. It all started with a very cloudy day. No bird chirping to be heard. Soon night fell upon the Kingdom of Baumilla and all the women gathered their children from the streets and headed inside. Just as they were about to close the windows the bell rang. It was the ringing of the Kingdom's bell located at their very church. The bell ringing brought about panic to certain people, while to others immense concern. The bell was only ever allowed to ring if it meant danger and today was that very day. Just as the people started to gather around the palace to hear what their King had to announce, worried whispers filled the streets, the sky darkened and immense storm befell the honest people of Baumilla. Everyone rushed to barrickade their homes before the storm got even worse. Some succeeded, but others were forced to abandon their home and flee to the palace for shelter. Soon the streets were flooded and a few houses were on the verge of collapse. However, one couple stayed behind at their house. Their home barricaded from the outside forces with candles lighting up their small, yet modest home. While the wind wooshed and the rain seemed to intensify, thunder broke through with lightning lighting up the skies with blue and red making everyone nervous. Inside the barricaded house the couple was getting ready to greet their first child. "My love, you’re doing great, just push a little bit more.” A man in his early 40s spoke. Nervous sweat streaked down the mans fair skin, his baby blue eyes watched his wife, wanting the very best for her and their coming baby. The man moved his left hand through his greying black hair moving a few locks out of his face behind his ears. His wife, pale skinned and sweat covering her flair body as she was going into labor. She was in her late 30s, a risky age to have children, but they were trying for so long and today was that day. Her brown locks were a mess, clinging to her sweaty face. Her grey eyes full of hope and love, but pain as well. The wife screamed out in pain one last time before faint cries flooded the dimly lit room. A baby girl was born. Quickly, her father cleaned her up and handed her to her mother who weakly embraced her, ceasing the babies cries instantly. As both the baby and the mother faced each other, the wife smiled at her newborn baby. ”Hi, my little angel. Welcome to the world!” The mother exclaimed softly, her hands softly brushing through the newborns face, wiping away her tiny tears and any left over blood from the birth. ”What should we name her, Ralla?” The husbsnd gently asked, his big firm hand gently embracing his newborn daughters hand as he looked up at Ralla. ”I want her to be known as Muna. Please.... take care of her, Vincent...” Ralla spoke up meekly as her eyes grew heavy and her gentle, yet firm grip over Muna loosened, forcing Vincent to quickly embrace his daughter and hold her close to him with his left hand while he reached out with his right hand to take his dying wife’s hand into his own one last time. They knew the risk of childbirth at this time, but even still, Vincent had a hard time watching Ralla’s grey eyes get dimmer and dimmer until she closed her eyes for the last time, never to open them again. Vincent felt great pain in his chest as he broke into silent tears, weakness in his legs caused him to drop to his knees as he held their daughter to his chest. His daughter seemed to sense her father’s distrought which made her burst into loud cries, forcing the father to embrace his newborn daughter even closer, yet making sure to hold her gently and gather himself to stay strong for his daughter and take care of her just as his wife, Ralla, asked him. Meanwhile at the castle, people who were seeking refugee learned of their family members passing in the terrible storm, causing some to lash out at the palace guards as they rushed to the throne room in search of their King’s guidance. ”We demand to see the King!” , ”The King must help us!” , ”Has the king abandoned us?!” The people yelled out, their voices audible throughout the throne room. As the people were about to cause a massively panicked scene, one of the King’s advisors, Lucius, spoke up. ”People of Baumilla, calm down and know that the King is doing all that he can to stop this ’terrible’ storm. Now if you could please go back to your families, we can all work better and faster.” Lucius spoke with firmness, his body radiating immense power and authority. The people that came soon left, calmed down by their King’s trusted advisor. They returned to their families. At the King’s and Queen’s chamber, the Queen was in labor as well, having midwive’s help deliver a baby and care for the Queen while she was in labor. Screams of pain filled the large chamber as the Queen pushed a few more times, letting one midwife clean the baby up while two others quickly cared for the Queen and cleaned her up. Once both the Queen and the baby were cleaned up and cared for, the midwife handed her her newborn son into her arms. Both the King and Queen looked at the baby as the midwives left the chamber talking about the newborn prince. ”You did well, my flower, but what should we name our son? ...Son.. I’ll need to get used to saying that.” The King spoke up softly before chuckling to himself as he turned his green eyed gaze towards his wife, his grey hair short and his golden crown on his head as he sat down on the bed besides his wife. His right hand gently, yet firmly embraced his wife to his chest, while his left hand gently reached out to take his son’s hand into his own. His eyes carefully looking at his son’s face, forcing the King to find himself tearing up. ”I was thinking Gregor.. but I think naming him after your father would be best.” The Queen spoke up, her arms holding the newborn son of theirs close to her chest. The baby seemed calm in his mother’s warm embrace and his father’s hand that held his small hand. The King seemed over-joyed by the news and couldn’t help but smile, his teary eyes allowing one tear to roll down the King’s fair skin. ”I think naming him-" Before the King could finish, a loud knock alerted the two new parents to look at the door. They quickly opened presenting Lucius that seemed to look worried. He bowed to the two Royals present in the chamber and then quickly spoke up. "My King, I deeply apologize for the intrusion but the people of Baumilla need you.” The King listened as Lucius spoke in a hurry, his voice full of worry. He turned to look at his wife and newborn son and then kissed her forehead before gently squeezing his sons hand and moving to let go of them. Standing up, the King made his way out of the chamber with Lucius, making sure the doors closed and two royal guards stayed by the chamber entrance keeping the Queen and the new Prince safe. ”The storm keeps getting worse, your majesty, we must do something about it! The people of Baumilla are restless, scared and mourning their fellow family members death.” Lucius explained to the King who listened intently, a serious scowl on his face as he soon made his way with Lucius to the top of the tower. Quickly opening the doors, they were greeted by three people running around with robes that were made of silk. Their robes were lined with ornaments of stars and clouds. They were meteorologists and skilled sorccerors at that, but not nearly as strong as the King who has been given power through a ritual preformed by these sorccerors everytime a new King replaced the old. The chamber Lucius and the King walked into had many devices big and small filling the room. Spiral staircase led to silver doors that led outside to the balcony. Despite the chamber appearing small, it seemed that one could fit the royal ballroom into it no problem. ”What is the status of our Kingdom, Ferdi?” The King asked one of the sorccerors. Upon hearing his majesty’s voice, the sorcceror turned to face his King, bowing in the process. He was the eldest and the wisest of the three. His eyes, the colour of amber, turned to look at Lucius before settling upon the King, his gaze tired yet wise. He had the typical long grey beard and hair and a staff to keep himself upright. ”Your majesty. The situation is seemingly getting worse and I fear that somebody has used dark magic to summon this terrible storm.” Ferdi explained, his voice raspy and old. He looked as if he had to take a nap. It was unusual to see Ferdi like this and the King took note of that. However, the King had to focus on stopping the storm first, because he alone had the means to do this. Stepping forward, the King made his way past Ferdi and made his way towards the balcony of the chamber, getting exposed to the outside elements. The King closed his eyes and began to draw symbols in the air with his hands. The storm seemed to only intensify because of this, making it hard for the King to focus, but he did his best. Meanwhile at the chamber, Ferdi had collapsed to the ground and had began to cough up green goo. His eyes widened at that as he shakily looked up before simply fading away. It happened so fast and sudden that it almost seemed surreal. It was as if he had ceased to exist, making the storm instantly dissipate and the King to be left dumbfounded, as he made the symbols he drew in the air quickly disappear. He looked towards the sky that had instantly reverted back to a peaceful night as it was growing to be at the very start. The King turned to look back at the chamber of sorccerors and quickly rushed inside, his eyes widened as he only saw green goo on the ground where Ferdi was just moments ago. He felt himself start to get filled with remorse and regret for leaving one of the sorccerors like that. Lucius stood with a face full of sadness. He raised his hand and drew a small circle, making the green goo get absorbed into a small bubble. ”I’ll get to the very bottom of this, my King. Whoever did this 'will' pay!” Lucius spoke up, his voice full of emotion as he left the chamber, heading for a hidden laboratory in the castle.
