Destiny Voyage- Missions and Opposites 1

“Well today was a fun day.” Cosette smiled brightly as they went out of the gates of the carnival. “Yes I do agree with this charming young lady.” Roswell said managing to make the woman blush a heavy shade of red to his own amusement. Robin merely rolled his eyes at the spectacle but otherwise stayed silent and unyielding. Haichi was hugging a gigantic teddy bear to comfort himself from the scene in front that he somehow managed won thankfully to his precise aim at the ‘Shoot the duck’ game. Miss Viola could not help but question her decision of allowing such a young man to be in her guild. (Rose: Wew. Talk about social un-acceptance *laughs*) Sora glanced slowly at Raiden, holding her stuffed dolphin close to her heart. She had already thanked him a bit after the high striker game and he shrugged her off, actually wanting to stop playing anything right after it because he saw it as cheating but eventually he gave up and won more games. And of course more prizes were claimed; Sora looked at him once more. “Hey Raiden?” she spoke out quietly, almost tentatively. His forest hued eyes gazed right back at her emerald green ones, eyes softening for a moment before rolling them and shrugged. “If you’re going to say thank you again, don’t mention i-” he started to tell her but was cut off by a sensation on his face. The young brunette had quickly stood up on her tiptoes and gave a quick kiss on his cheek before pulling away sheepishly, quickly glancing in front- obviously making sure that nobody and especially not Robin noticed it for both her and Raiden’s sake. She inwardly sighed in relief and glanced at Raiden before sheepishly rubbing the back of her nape and looked forward to avoid his gaze. “Yeah that’s my way of saying thanks.” she uttered as casually as she could before sashaying towards the others to converse with them. Raiden however seemed stricken for a moment, lost in the warmth of her lips and how soft it was when it came in contact with his cheek. The subtle textures and intricacies of it seemed to freeze him in the spot and time, but for that moment he seemed to see her in a new light. How she walked with a small bounce, how the young woman seemed to cut her own hair unevenly but somehow it made her look cute. The way she carried herself . . . All of these were seen in a new colour as she glanced back at him with that subtle and sheepish smile; somehow it drove him a little crazy. The way her green eyes looked up to him, how her nose twitched when she was about to sneeze in her sleep before. Those scenes all flooded back to his mind--- the male sighed inwardly and shook his head out of the daydreaming and caught up with the group. Raiden looked at the group with a relaxed smile, “Hey I just wanted to say thank you. I had fun today, since I never came to a carnival before, I always had to train when I was younger.” He shared to them and then chuckled slightly. “Never had much of a childhood really.” He sheepishly admitted as the others gazed on him with mixed expressions. Sora was gawking along with Haichi. Cosette immediately felt a bit guilty that she was quite more focused on her enjoyment for today. Miss Viola like the old goober she was-did not care much. What mattered to her more was that the team could finish their missions successfully and enable her to rake in huge lump sums of money for a reason that was unknown. Perhaps it was related to chips and cards. Roswell on the other hand felt sympathy. When he was younger- they had almost the same situation. However instead of always using sharp weapons, he had to face gruelling and cutting edge words. . . Words that could hurt more than a sharpened sword. That was the life of a normal Influential- one uses words at their power play. His brother luckily managed to miss most of that in his childhood. To Cosette, her life could be straight out from a fairy tale. She was the only beloved daughter of her father who was the head of their clan. She was treated like royalty and she repaid it with her earnest devotion and dealings with her life. Cosette was not blessed with mystical healing that was the normality in their whole race but she did her best to make up for it. “Aw, aren’t you a poor little thing!” Robin sarcastically muttered and made Raiden raise a brow, Sora was about to speak up but got cut offhanded by Robin’s glare directed at her to remain silent. “Sure, you may have some stuff going on that went unwanted- but so do these other people. If you’re looking for sympathy, go find it elsewhere.” Robin grumbled to the male and it made Raiden rolled his eyes at him. “Oh brother, it was just a statement. No need to go hissy fit on me.” The orange haired warrior glared at him, somewhat becoming annoyed at the rather contrasting personality of the white-haired male from his prior assumption. “You want to challenge me to a fight?” Robin glared back, challenging despite knowing how his physical strength paled in comparison to the warrior. “Fight you? You have to be kidding me ‘tough’ guy.” Raiden muttered patronizingly and glanced at the white haired male who was somewhat shorter than him. He rolled his eyes; the person was being unreasonable for well, no reason as far as Raiden could think back of the events today. “I could defeat you with my eyes closed and my hands tied up.” He told the Influential as Robin merely scoffed. “Let me see you try.” The white haired male simply replied. “Okay cut it off, cut it off you two.” Miss Viola interjected using her fighting rod to separate the two as it popped out between them. “Yes I agree with your lovely Guild Master, I do not think it would be pleasing to bring my brother home with a bruised eye or any sorts of injury.” Roswell added with a small chuckle. “You heard the client; cut it off now- I don’t want our payment to get a deduction. Or else I’ll break both of you.” Miss Viola threatened, her eyes looking at them ferociously, as if her hair was up and about like Medusa. Raiden grumbled and turned around. “I would not pick a fight on anyone weaker.” He uttered as the other male simply scoffed. Sora sighed softly, letting herself blow a hair strand out of her face and glanced at the two tiredly before redirecting her attention to the white haired male. “Hey Robin, no need to be glum and start a fight.” The young woman chastised the male, “Uh he started it-” the young nobleman spoke up, his voice rising in protest. “Doesn’t matter Robin, I know you don’t want to go home yet.” Sora started to say making the male fall silent because it was entirely true- he did not want to go back to that house, she was his home. Did she not understand any of that or get any hint from his actions today? “But no worries, I’ll make sure to visit you.” She promised the male with a small grin; Robin rolled his eyes and patted her head- this would have to suffice it appeared. “As if I missed you.” He muttered with a teasing chuckle and the young woman’s lips formed into a pout at the rather mean statement he told her. “Let’s go guys then.” Sora answered and stuck her tongue at the male; the others looked at the two people jesting with one another with unreadable gazes at them. Once again different feelings, well except for Miss Viola who was getting impatient with all the sappy scenes starting to spring up. She was getting antsy to get back to her office- and unsurprisingly collect the money from the Williams family. Cosette felt somewhat envious that the two had such a relationship like that, despite all the years that had passed- the two were talking like they never left each other’s side. She wondered if that could have been possible with her and Raiden, a blush erupting from her cheeks. Raiden’s lips curved down a bit, finding his patience tested, what was all this time wasting for? The mission was done already. Haichi smiled happily, glad that the two people had been reunited since they seemed to absolutely miss each other. Roswell glanced at the two figures interacting as he smiled a bit, a look of nostalgia in his eyes before he coughed a bit to interlude them. “I would hate to separate the two love birds before me, but alas the sun is setting soon and we need to depart soon and arrive home. My parents would be ecstatic to see that my brother has returned so it is not the time to dilly dally.” Roswell spoke to them amicably and looked at Miss Viola before Sora could make a protest. “And of course for us to process the payment for Miss Hisako completing the mission, we are eternally grateful.” He thanked the Guild Master and approached Sora, getting in between her and Robin. He placed a hand to his chest and bowed his body, more respectfully than what was required. Roswell then took the young lady’s hand and kissed it gently. “If you are in ever need of assistance Miss Hisako, please do not hesitate to ask anything from me. I assure you by my own honor that I shall do everything within my power to bestow it to you, quite gladly.” He whispered and looked into her eyes as a small blush tinted her cheeks. A small chuckle erupted from his lips as he let go of her hand and stood up. “I can understand why my beloved brother thinks of you so fondly.” He grinned before taking a step back and looked at her teammates. “I thank you three as well for allowing this lady to join you. I hope you cherish and take care of her, she is a valuable person.” He told them and bowed his head in gratitude. The three stumbled onto their own respectful bows and curtsy and thanked him back as well to which he simply smiled back at them. “Well then, shall we depart my dear brother?” Roswell murmured and glanced at Robin. The young male looked at the female before him, she was still slightly blushing and he could not help but feel mad at his brother for acting so gentlemanly and making Sora sway at his actions. Sora wasn’t the type to gush or holler over males, now that was more like Rose so he was a bit annoyed with his brother. “Fine whatever Roswell, and be sure to visit me soon Hisa-chan.” He smiled and stepped closer to Sora before engulfing her in his arms tightly. He held her tightly in his chest with his chin resting on her head. “I did miss you. . .” he whispered softly under his breath just for her to hear as the female grinned and hugged him back. “Of course, of course- I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.” She told him before she escaped from his tight hug and smiled brightly. Robin’s heart thumped loudly in his chest and he smiled back at the young woman in front of him. “Well good bye to you guys!” he waved at the trio, already forgetting the injury that Raiden did to his ego. “It was nice to meet you Cosette, Raiden and chick-dude!” he called out to the three, chuckling a bit as he moved forward once more and kissed Sora’s cheek and rode on the awaiting carriage and horse, he gripped the reins while Haichi reacted by shouting out his name wasn’t chick-dude to no avail. “Yo, Roswell get on the carriage, I’m sure you’re gonna make me drive.” He muttered under his breath on the last part. “Ta ta~” Roswell waved his fingers at them like a lady saying goodbye to her boyfriend before stepping inside the carriage. Cosette could not help but sweat drop along with Sora and Haichi. At times he appeared like a handsome angel from above but at other instances like his way of waving; it made them wonder if Roswell actually was a bit leaning to the other side instead. “My goodness, what a day it has been.” Cosette remarked with a sheepish smile as she held the locket on her hand that she received surprisingly from Robin. She need not to wonder however when she had noticed Sora eyeing it enviously when he had given it to her and she already figured out the game of the troublesome nobleman. “I can’t wait to go home.” She added with a tired yawn as the other two chuckled silently. Miss Viola nodded her head in agreement, “Agreed. Let’s all go back to the Capital.” She smiled and started walking off to her own carriage. Haichi tilted his head, “Uh, Miss Guild Master?” he spoke up as the older female looked back. “What is it Haichi?” she questioned with an amused quirk on her pink lips as she pursed them together. “Why did you not ask us to go with you if we’re all heading back?” Haichi questioned a bit lost at the situation as a grin formed on the violet haired woman’s face. “Why should I? Have fun walking you four.” She laughed as Haichi dropped onto the ground on his knees in anguish while Sora merely sweat dropped. Cosette sighed softly, Haichi was too naïve indeed while Raiden merely shook his head at the reaction of their teammate. Miss Viola got onto the carriage before she once again glanced at the emoting Haichi and snickered a bit, “Alright kids I’m only going to drive for all of you just this one time.” She sighed a bit before Miss Viola smiled at them a bit tired as well, “I can’t have my star team to become lost on their way back to the Capital.” She grinned as the four youngsters wanted to shake their heads. “That would be such a waste to all the income that I could earn from you four!” she stated and cackled a bit, her “oho~ oho~ hoing” unnerving the four people before Sora merely cracked a grin. She wondered if she would grow up to be someone as cool as Miss Viola. Sora then heard the thundering sound of hooves and she glanced to see the carriage which held Robin starting to move away from them as he drove it. A pang of nostalgia pounded in her heart as a warm feeling soon spread on her chest as she looked back on her past. Now Sora had no desire or urges to chase after that carriage at all, she looked on her newfound teammates and perhaps soon to be family. Cosette, Haichi and Raiden . . . yes with them she no longer needed to chase after Robin in hopes to catch up to him at the Capital. Today, starting today she would be journeying with her teammates onto the same distant destination that all of them sought. She no longer needed to fall onto her knees and be all alone, at this moment she had her people with her. These people were to be the one she would travel with and would be there for her, they would be there for one another if one of them falls onto their knees. Indeed it felt quite great to be part of something larger than you. “Hey Sora stop daydreaming and get on the carriage.” Raiden’s voice broke her out of her thoughts along with a gentle bonk on her head as she gazed onto the male. The two locked eyes for a moment before the young woman grinned. “Yes daddy,” she replied with a grin to Raiden’s much chagrin. “What did you just call me?!” he blustered as the brunette laughed. “Daddy?” she repeated as the male’s face turned red as a tomato. “I can officially see you guys as my family now.” Sora explained somewhat sheepishly as she continued to walk towards the carriage. Raiden somehow managed to speed up before her and held out his hand to help her up as he was on the stairs. “I think . . . that’s a nice way to see a team.” Raiden relented; somewhat perplexed at how the young woman saw them as that but also felt that seeing each other that way was a good thing. Of course a family would put each other first and that meant she would not be distracted with Robin- eyes on the prize was necessary. Sora looked up to his face and grinned, she grabbed his hand as he helped her up onto the carriage. “But please don’t call me daddy.” He whispered very quietly to Sora, his face reddening- he did not want Cosette or Haichi to hear such a thing like that and especially not their Guild Master. Sora smiled sweetly, “I’ll try, but no promises~” she laughed a bit, finding it quite amusing to see him so embarrassed. However, she somehow really saw the male like some sort of father figure. Raiden was a leader like any kind of patriarchal figure. He was also quite stiff and strict like most dads; he was such a stickler for rules and was quite a stick in the mud. She smiled a bit at the thought of how the male acted so funnily as she sat down beside Cosette. “No promises on what?” Cosette asked with her brows somewhat creased in worry. Sora smiled and shook her head, “Ah you know, just not promising Raiden here that I’ll stay good and proper from now on as an official member of your team.” She replied to Cosette as the young blonde exhaled a sigh of relief and nodded. “Well it’s alright, I’m sure you’ll do just fine here.” The lady told her with a relieved smile, honestly it was good to have a fresh air of what a lady was ought to be. Sure, Sora spent so much time with Rose back in their village but Cosette was the epitome of a true and proper lady as the young brunette glanced at the woman who waited for Raiden to take his seat. “I’m really happy you had such a good time today Rai-kun.” Cosette beamed at the warrior with a smile. Raiden responded with a small chuckle, “Yeah me too, hopefully you had a nice time today huh?” the orange haired male asked her and she smiled with a small nod. “I did have a splendid time Raiden, more so if we could have spent more time together.” Cosette told Raiden with a bashful smile as she averted her eyes to the ground coyly and making him chuckle some more. “Well aren’t you honest.” He mumbled with a small blush and then bumped shoulders onto Haichi. “What about you Chi? Did you have a nice day?” Raiden asked while Sora sweat-dropped a bit. Now it seemed like Raiden was some sort of teacher that asked their students what they learned today. Haichi hugged his gigantic teddy bear, “Today was okay.” He replied and snuggled more onto the bear. Sora wanted to say ‘aww’, Haichi managed to indeed spend some time with Cosette for the day but somehow it did not manage to go so well as much as he had liked. To Sora’s eyes it seemed like Haichi was a cute little baby brother. Of course he was taller and whatnot, but the way he acted and spoke made her be reminded of such a young person. His mother seemed to have babied him too much she thought with a small awkward sweat-drop. Haichi was kind, smart but he was also very naïve and a bit sensitive. However, Sora found it quite endearing as she grinned a bit. “Hey Haichi, you were awesome at the shooting game. I never thought anyone would be better at shooting than me.” She told the other person with a small laugh. “I used to always practice my slingshot but man you had dead shot accuracy. It was always-” Sora started to compliment the male. “Bulls-eye!” both brown haired people declared at the same time with a small laugh. Haichi grinned, “You were good too Sora. I’m not always accurate though, it’s just that as a Creativist we had to learn to be very precise or else we might have created a nuclear bomb instead of the yummy chocolate syrup we wanted to create.” Haichi explained with a happy smile as Sora felt a shiver ran down her spine. Say what now? You could almost create a nuclear weapon out of cacao?!
