Xavier's POV
I could feel the temptation to pull her back to my room right then and there. She looked too alluring for anyone to see her like that. I tried to stand up, but before I could, my mom stood up.
“Aria dear. How have you been?” she said, and I had to sit back down.
They exchanged silent greetings and countless hugs before finally walking together to the table.
As Aria sat down, she smiled at me. It caught me off guard, and I didn't realize until later that it might have been part of the act. So, I didn't bother returning the smile.
