Chapter 009: Going Home

I quickly checked the caller ID, and I was from a private line.

I stood there confused, I didn’t know what to say or do or say, I was not expecting him to unexpectedly come at me like that.

“Xavier, is that you?” I said, trying to maintain my composure.

“Is that my wife?” He said, and I could feel butterflies in my stomach at the sound of that.

The car horned again and this time I knew I had to go meet him.

As I walked through the stairs down, I thought of what to say to him, how to look at him and most importantly confirm if he’s fine after what happened yesterday.

I opened the front door and behold, he was standing right there a few steps away from me, looking dashing as ever before, he was putting on a blue navy suit with a neatly polished shoe.

He turned to look at me at the sound of the closing of the door. He walked towards me with charisma and a manly aura. His deep blue eyes fixed on me as he came closer, I could feel my heart racing.

“You missed your way or my driver did?” He said as he got to me with a straight face.

“What?” I asked loudly, confused by the question.

“What happened yesterday?” He asked as he brought out his phone, which was beeping.

“Pick your call,” I said, looking down at my neatly painted toes.

“Look up at me and Answer My Question, Aria.” He said sternly.

“I don’t know… I don’t know Xavier. There were gunshots everywhere and…” I said with a shaky voice.

“Not that Aria, What happened to us?” He said cutting me off.

“We got married.” I said in a low voice.

“You should be in my house, So what are you doing here? What?” He said in a harsh tone.

“I was…”

“Let us go,” he said, walking towards the cars.

“But, …” I said, but he interrupted me before I could continue.

“Don’t make me repeat myself, Aria.” He said as he continued walking towards the car.

The journey to his house was a very silent one. The Air was cold, the silence in the car was killing me, I could feel he had more to say, but he was holding back.

I had questions too, for a billionaire, he looked too sophisticated and too guided.

My thoughts were interrupted when the car pulled up to the grand Mansion’s entrance, I stepped out of the car and was struck by the nice architecture and the vibrant colors of the lush gardens. The entrance was flanked by towering trees and a meticulously manicured lawn.

As I walked through the front door, I took a moment to look at the surroundings. The house was spacious and beautifully decorated, with high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers.

The walls were lined with oil paintings with mirrors which reflected light, elegant furniture and large windows that let in plenty of natural light.

The staircase gave the space an air of grandeur. Everywhere I looked, there was a new detail to admire, a new corner to explore, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty of this house.

“He will show you the way to your room.” He said, pointing towards a man in a black suit opposite me. And walked towards a room.

“Come with me, ma’am.” He said, walking towards another staircase.

He finally stopped at a door, he opened the door and gestured for me to come in.

“My name is Ethan and I will be your personal bodyguard, you can call on me if you need anything. I’ll be by the door” he said and left.

I entered the room, it was bigger compared to my former room. It was located at the top middle of the whole building. It was designed with beautiful colors with one large bed. Furthermore, it had different types of lights. And the shower was covered with a transparent glass with added beauty to the room. The other part of the room was designed as an office part.

I remembered Amy who had gone to the hospital earlier, and I quickly took my phone from my bag and called her, she picked immediately.

“Hi, My Married Baby” Amy said, giggling.

“Stop that, Amy” I said, trying not to laugh.

“How’s your wound?” I asked.

“I’ve seen the doctor, he prescribed some drugs.” Amy said.

“Okay, take care” I said concerned.

“Hope you are enjoying your new home like?” Amy asked, laughing.

“Wait, How did you know I was here?” I asked surprised.

“ I’m always with you, my darling,” She said, giggling.

“Be serious Amy.” I said laughing.

“I heard Mom talking to him on the phone earlier, he told her he will be coming to pick you up.”

“Oh…” I said.

“I need to go now, take care.” Amy said and ended the call.

I walked towards the bed with the flash drive I took from my Mom’s room earlier and the file I forgot to look at earlier.

“My laptop,” I said, jumping from the bed and ran towards the door.

Immediately I opened the door, Adam appeared from the staircase.

“ Do you need anything ?” He said, walking towards me.

“I need to quickly get something from my house,” I said to him as I walked towards the staircase.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, but you can’t go.” He said.

Immediately I heard this, I stopped in my tracks, turned to look at home.

“Why?” I asked him loudly.

“It’s an order from the boss.” He said, “your husband.” He added.

“I need to go home, I need to get my Laptop,” I said frustrated.

“We will get it to you right away.” He said and walked away.

Some minutes later, I heard a knock on the door and I opened the door

It was Ethan with my laptop in his hands.

“That was fast.” I said with a smile.

I quickly went back inside, switched on the laptop and inserted the Flash drive.

Not only that, but I saw a file name “Unknown”, I clicked it and immediately the file opened, I was in shock.
