They soon arrived at a huge mansion. Its design was a mix of old and modern design and the place was very spacious and peaceful. The things you could only hear were the chirping of the birds and the breeze of the wind. The car soon approached the main entrance, with two huge wooden doors that had intricate carvings. Servants all lined up and waited for the people in the car to arrive and step out. The car soon stopped, and once it opened, loud noises instantly rang out in the serene place. "Let go of me you kidnapper! Pervert! You scumbag!" Kate shouted at the top of her lungs while she was being carried princess style by Ace who was still smiling like an i***t. The servants were all surprised to see what Kate was doing to their boss. Since if it was other women or people, he would usually just throw them out or let the guards beat the hell out of them. Ace didn't know what exactly he saw in her. But she finds this side of her rather cute than annoying. "Let me go! Lucas! Where is he? Where did you take him!" She continued to bark at him but he continued striding his long legs forward, as if he wasn't bothered at all by her, thrashing around. "Carter will take him here in a few minutes. Although I like you being this energetic, I think it would be best that you don't show this side of yours to our son." Ace said with a calm voice, trying to pacify her. "Our son?! No he's my son not yours. We both don't need you, so take us back!" She said and was finally freed once they were inside. "You don't get to claim him as yours, you have no right!" She said. "That's because I didn't get the chance. But now I want to make up for the years I wasn't beside you to take care of our son. And to make up for him as a father." He countered, shutting Kate off. Kate went silent, her eyes still vigilant. 'Can I even believe you? Why the hell would you just appear now?' "I know it's hard for you to believe my words. But let me show you how sincere I am. Stay here for a month. And if you still think I'm lying, then you're free to go back. But, I still would want to see my son if that ever happens." Ace said with the most sincere tone. He really did want to help Kate, he thinks that she is probably struggling to provide for Lucas even though that wasn't really the case. He also found out that Kate's family had already thrown her out. Which made his blood boil thinking how she had to survive all five years alone, and raise their son alone all on her own. "Please just accept my offer. And I promise you won't regret it." He persuaded her, but looking at Kate's face, he knew she was still reluctant and didn't trust him fully. So he thought and thought of things that would make her change her mind and then an idea came to him. "I can also help you regain what's truly yours that your family took away from you." Kate narrowed down her eyes at him, wondering how he knew such information. 'How does he know about my family? Did he investigate me?' "How do you know that?" She asked, though she already had a hunch. "I hired an investigator to trace you and accidentally found out about your troubles with your family. I'm sorry, that wasn't part of my intention." Kate took a load of breath in, massaging her temples. She closed her eyes to think about his proposal, measuring the pros and cons. 'Should I accept it? If I accept it I wouldn't really have anything to lose. Though I don't really care anymore about my bastard father and those two leeches, but… everything they have came from my grandparents and mother's hard work, so it's only right that I take it all back, including my shares in the company.' Kate gave it an earnest thought. And while she was in the zone, Ace couldn't help but admire her beauty. Although she wasn't really doing anything, heck she didn't even fix herself, but to him, it was as if she was glowing effortlessly. "I gave it a thought," Kate said, and looked at Ace who was staring at her creepily again. 'What's wrong with him? Was all God's gift directed to his face and body that it didn't leave anything for his brain? He seems so always distracted when we're talking.' "I accept your offer, but I have three conditions. First, I don't want us to sleep together. Second, regarding your help, I want most of the plans to be handled by me, no questions asked. And third, don't you ever, or any of your family in that matter hurt my son, ever." She stressed her conditions, waiting for Ace to give his signal of approval. "No." "What?" Kate was slightly taken aback by his answer. "I said no." Ace gave a resounding reply. "If that's the case then just take us back then." She said, turning her back but was then stopped by Ace. "I'm only saying no to the first condition. I think I wasn't clear enough. I want to mend our family, not just me and our son. And I can't show how a perfect husband I could be if we sleep in different rooms." Ace said, which made Kate's eyes twitch. "You…" "Or maybe you're too scared because you might fall for me. Is that it?" He gave her a smirk as a challenge. He was trying to bait her, and he was successful in doing so, since Kate raised her eyebrows at him. "Fine then. We'll sleep together. But you also have to be careful. Because I'm not like any woman you encounter." She gave him a provocative smile, her confidence oozing. Ace wasn't bothered by any of it, since he already felt like a winner. He just has to make sure to sway and make Kate fall for him too. "I know that. You're a very unique woman." Ace said, the air getting thicker, as his face slowly moved towards Kate, watching her every feature, and finally settling on her gorgeous plump red lips. Seeing his actions, Kate was again in her inner turmoil. She wanted to evade his advances but her body just wouldn't cooperate, it was as if her body was letting the man get his way through her. "Totally one of a kind." Ace seductively said, their noses touching. He stood still feeling the moment, watching her pupils flicker as he saw his reflection in her deep hazel eyes. When, out of nowhere, the huge door opened. And a disembodied crying sound made its way to their ears. "Mommy…Mommy…" Carter walked in with a crying Lucas in his arms, and saw his boss with Kate who were in a very awkward position. Seeing her son, Kate quickly moved towards them and met them halfway. "Shhh…honey. Mommy's here. Don't cry." Kate soothed Lucas and took him in her arms, whose eyes were red and puffy from crying. "See this. You made Lucas cry." Kate blamed him for his hasty decisions, frowning at him. Ace's face blackened for a moment, he then walked to Carter and whispered something to him. Carter left and came back a minute later with a huge chocolate in his hand and gave it to Ace. "Hey buddy, you like chocolates, right?" Ace went to them and scooted closer to Lucas to show him the huge chocolate in his hands. The little boy nodded his head and stared at the chocolate in his hand, not moving his eyes away from it. He was fascinated by how big it was. "Do you want this? If so, then you first have to smile." He said, bribing the kid. It didn't even took a second before Lucas gave in, and showed him a smile, his teeth showing. "Good boy. Here you go." He said, handing the chocolates to Lucas. And the adorable kid wiggled his way out of her mother's embrace and stood on the floor before hugging Ace's legs. "Hey-hey buddy, it's okay. You'll get to eat more of that now that you're here. Daddy will give you lots more of that." Ace said, and the kid was for a second lost in his thoughts and then gave Ace his cheekiest smile. "Daddy…" Lucas whispered and hugged Ace tighter. Kate could only look at her son helplessly. 'Oh boy. I hope he doesn't get the wrong idea. Our son is definitely not happy because of him, I'm 100 percent sure that he's happy only because of the chocolate. And not him.' "Okay, can you be a good boy and follow this uncle to your new room?" Ace pointed his hands towards Carter, and the boy briskly nodded his head almost instantly without even looking for her mother's approval. "Good." He ruffled his son's hair and looked at Kate with a cunning smile. "Your mother and I need to discuss something. In our bedroom." Ace grinned, saying the last part with a hint of unknown meaning to it. Kate had a foreboding that something bad was gonna happen to her. "Come here, I still have to punish you for hiding all these years from me." He said darkly, and Kate was gonna make a run for it. But Ace caught her quickly, carrying her on his shoulders as he walked up the stairs. "You're crazy. Let me go! Our deal is off. I don't want this." She yelled. "Like I said earlier. I will show you how perfect of a husband I can be." Ace chuckled at her while ascending. Meanwhile, their child only looked at them as he waved innocently at her mother while holding the huge chocolate his father gave him. Kate could only look at her son, thinking how easily he gave her up for a piece of chocolate.
