Chapter 11

1697 Words
Noah's POV Every member from pack was gathered in front of the pact building talking in low murmurs. The only people who weren't there was the pack fighters, guarding our territory boarder line. There was a little makeshift stage in the front of everyone. As I walked to the stage with Heather and Lily on both hands the murmurs began to grow. "Hello Alpha Noah" A few people greeted as I stepped on stage. I nodded in their direction as I took a deep breath and began. "As many of you have realized, I have been absent from the company, pact building, and pack meeting and activities." People nod in agreement looking at each other as others looked completely confused, waiting for me to finish. "When I was at the company, I made a discovery" I decided I'm just going to pull off the bandage and not waste time with prolonging this any further. "I found out that Heather was not my only mate" People were no longer murmuring but shouting. A lot were just standing shocked, looking at the three of us. "This will not affect the pack in a negative way. We are handling it. For now I thought it was best if I introduced to you, my other mate, Lilian Tanzin" I gave her a little nudge to step forward. If she wanted their respect then she would have to prove herself to them. "Hey, I'm Lilian, but I go by Lily. Before you guys think that I stole your alpha away from his mate, just know that we didn't get to decide if we wanted to have two mates. From the hard stares I'm getting I'm assuming you previously thought that" Peoples face started to soften from the glares they were shooting her way. Some laughed a little to release the nerves. "For the people who are interested, I hope to meet all of you." Everyone started talking to each other at once. The voices getting louder and louder. Heather raises her hand to stop the noise. "I know this is hard to process but we are still trying our best to work through this situation. This will take time to get use to but time is something we do not have. Noah's wolf will not allow this to be dragged on." "The decision will not be an easy one, all of you know Heather but only a few know Lily. I expect you all to be respectful during this time and until I have made the final decision." I was going to go on until I heard someone mind link with me. It was Tim's frantic voice 'Alpha? Three fighters who are suppose to be watching the territory are missing. I asked the others and they have know idea where they are. Were sniffing around a bit and we smell that there was other wolves around.' I give Heather a look that let's her know that she needs to keep everyone distracted by continuing to talk to them, then she gives Lily that look and I walk off stage and into the Pact building with Cal and Jim trailing behind me. We get to the meeting room and some of the fighters who were off duty today rushed into the room. "I'm assuming you all have just been informed that we have a problem at hand." I sit into one of the chairs while the others take their seats. "I just told Tim to get here as fast as he can, and told the others to double up with each other for the rounds and pay special attention to scent. Whoever took our three members has a great way of hiding themselves so we have to focus most on the smell." Cal said gathering up the folders of the missing people. "Jim, I need you to tell everyone we are on lock down. Quickly but vaguely answer the questions they throw at you and squash the assumptions. We can't have them panicking, that will cause chaos. Tell Heather and Lily that they are to do the same as everyone else." I say just as Tim arrived. "Tim what can you tell us? Were their signs of struggle? About how many wolves scents did you pick up on?" "There must have been quite a few, whenever were going around the territory we always intercept with each other. I noticed that Ceder, the person I always intercept with, hasn't passed me for two rounds, then I got other mind links asking where Robert and Jason were. That's when I knew something was up. I made another round and saw signs of struggles and spots of blood." I lean back in my chair and absorb this information. "When I was out in town the other day with Lily, I was being watched. I don't know for how long, or who it was, I saw the wolf just as they left." "Why didn't you tell us" Cal asked upset. I sighed "My mind has been else where these days, so I didn't really have time to tell you. I thought it was just a passing wolf I didn't think it would be a threat to this pack." "A simple 'hey Cal some wolf was watching me' would have been fine enough for me to look into it a little more." I was about to respond when my mother and father came into the meeting room. "Noah, why didn't you tell us about your second mate?" my mother wrapped me in her embrace. "Why are we in lock down? And what's this about another mate?" my father says dragging my mother away from me. "Father I can't get into that right now. If you could, can you go my house? Lily and Heather are there with Jim. I have already filled Jim with the information I have received. He can tell all three of you and you can get to meet Lily while your there." He hesitates before leaving with my mother. The old alpha in him wants to stay and hear the information first hand. Not by someone else. I turn back to the table and notice Tim looking back at me stressed. "What is it" I lean forward in my chair focusing on him. He swallows "There was another attack on the east side. They were able fight them off. The east side is where they took and probably killed Ceder." --- --- --- --- The whole morning, afternoon, and evening has been like this. Random stray wolves attacking the east side. It was night time by the time I got back to my house. My parents were gone and Jim just walked out. Lily pulled me into a hug first "I'm worried" she whispered pulling back. Heather pulled me in a hug as soon as she let go "Please tell me this is only random attacks that will go away soon." I pulled back looking at them both. "That's what it looks like but I doubt it. Please don't spend your time worrying about it." I change the subject to something else "How were my parents?" Lily brightened "Wonderful, they were both very understanding. They were very sweet." Heather shrugged "It was nice to see them again, it's been a while." "Yeah my mot-" the phone started ringing. I put it on speaker. "Hello?" "Hello, Alpha Noah, this is Amber." She sounds cheerful. Heather stepped forward towards the phone. "Hey Amber, why are you calling so late?" "Our fighters have been smelling rouges near our territory, only their scents seem to be heading in your direction." Lily took a seat. "How long ago" she says. "Just now" she says in a singsong voice. Heather glared at the phone "Why do you sound so happy?" "Oh no reason. Hey Noah? Rickman hasn't told you everything about having two mates. He unfortunately held some things back." I quickly mind link with Cal 'Get every fighter we have out on the front lines. Make sure no one gets in' I demand in a growl. Amber is clearly up to no good. "You see.. when you have two mates-" "Where is Rickman" I demand. "Noah, I'm telling a story. It is very rude of yo-" "Rickman. Where is he." I feel Cal trying to get in my head and I let him 'They're already here Noah. The east side was just attacked by at least fifty rouges. More than all of today. Our people came to help fight them off leaving but that left less people on the other sides. Rickman and his wolves came barging in through the west side.' I take deep breaths. "Amber. What are you and Rickman doing. We have an alliance. Our alliance goes way back before our grandparents were born." I say steadily. "That was until we got the opportunity to have a bigger territory and a bigger pack." Heather's claws are out and she's growling. Lily is sitting in shock. "What makes you think I will give up my territory and my people?" I take deep breaths in and out. I feel Cal trying to enter my mind but I keep him out. I need to hear this. "That's what Rickman didn't tell you. Because you have two mates, your wolf is weaker. It is indecisive, not only about who you want as a mate, but about everything. It takes a toll on your wolf whether you realize it or not. Which calls for a perfect time to overthrow an alpha. Imagine how happy Rickman was when you told him" She laughs "The first time he found that out, he forgave me for killing his other mate." "I'm going to rip your throat out when I see you" Heather growls. "Why wait?" she politely says then hangs up. I open my mind link and Cal starts talking immediately 'Noah, Rickman is here. He called off the rouges and he's standing in front of the pack building. We have our fighters surrounding him but he says he doesn't want to kill anymore people. He just wants you.' I'm already running out the door in half transformation of my wolf before he finished.
